In this paper, the Ba (1 − x) Sr x TiO3 (BST) fiber arrays in an orderly manner were successfully fabricated by electrospinning. The arrangement of the fiber arrays and their dielectric properties at different rotation speeds were investigated. The microstructure, phase composition and dielectric properties of the fabricated fiber arrays were detected via field-emission scanning electron microscope, X-ray diffraction and automatic component analyzer. The results indicated that the orientation of the BST fiber arrays could be affected by the drum rotational speed variation of the roller receiver. The orientation degree of the BST fiber arrays increased and the diameter of the BST fiber arrays decreased with the increasing of the drum rotational speed. With the content of polyvinylpyrrolidone at 8% and the speed of 1000 r/min, the orientation degree of the BST fiber arrays gets a better state and the best dielectric constant of 104. Moreover, the ferroelectric performance of BST fiber arrays in ambient and cryogenic environments has a maxima Curie temperature of − 5 ∘ C. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Novel composite sub-micron fibers materials, consisting of superfine powdered diatomite (SPD) and fibrous poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA), were fabricated by electrospinning. SPD was obtained after high energy ball milling for 6h high energy ball milling with 10% (wt%) Polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP) as dispersant. The diameters of SPD (400 nm–1000 nm) were 30 times less than that of the normal powdered diatomite particles, and SPD also had pores inside based on Rhodamine B (RhB) micro-pollutant. The composite sub-micron fibers were composed by three dimensional networks from PVA sub-micron fibers, on which SPD particles were randomly attached on. The composite sub-micron fibers exhibited excellent mechanical behavior and stable thermal decomposition property in the temperature from 275 °C to 300 °C. Comparing with PVA sub-micron fibers, SPD-PVA composite sub-micron fibers possess extra 36% adsorption capacity to RhB, which was due to 48.5% (wt%) of SPD in fibers. Conserving the adsorptive functionality of SPD particles in electrospinning non-woven polymeric fiber, could enable them to be used in the fields of adsorbants. A novel diatomite/oyster shell (DS) powder doped polyacrylonitrile composite fiber adsorbent was fabricated via electrospinning technology and anion functionalization (fun -PAN/DS) was carried out with sodium hydroxide and sodium bicarbonate. The influences of different parameters such as solution pH, contact time, temperature and initial concentration on the adsorption of methylene blue (MB) were investigated in batch mode. The adsorption data showed that the removal rate of MB increased from 10.96% to 96.45% with the increase of pH value. The Freundlich isotherm model was found to be best depicting the adsorption of MB on fun -PAN/DS submicron fiber with a maximum capacity of 243.44 mg/g. The pseudo second-order dynamics model (R2 > 0.99) was more suitable for experimental data than other kinetic models. In the summary, fun -PAN/DS fiber with good physicochemical stability is an excellent material to be a high-efficiency adsorbent for removing methylene blue from aqueous solution.
