Balıkesir Üniversitesi, Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsü, Makina Mühendisliği Ana Bilim Dalı, Cam-fiber takviyeli polyester kompozitlerin eğilme yorulması davranışlarını incelemek için, 800, 500, 300 ve 200 gr/m2'lik cam elyaf dokumalar ile 225, 450 ve 600 gr/m2 'lik rasgele cam keçe ve polyester reçinesi kullanılmıştır. RTM (Reçine Transfer Kalıplama) yöntemi ile elde edilen bu numuneler, 0/90° ve ±45° yönlerinde kesilmiştir. Böylece dokuz değişik yapı elde edilmiştir. Ayrıca RTM metodu için yeni bir kalıp tasarlanmış ve cam fiberlerin tam ıslanması için bu kalıp üzerinde basit bir yöntem uygulanmıştır. Çalışmanın hedefi, kompozitten yapılmış rüzgar türbin ve eksenel fan kanatlarındaki eğilme yorulmasından dolayı oluşan hasarı basite indirgeyerek incelemeye yöneliktir. Bu elemanlar için başta yorulma ömrü olmak üzere, diğer mekanik özellikler ve ekonomik açıdan en uygun malzeme yapısı elde edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Bu elemanlardaki yükleme ve gerilme şekline benzer bir yorulma yapabilmek için, bilgisayar destekli ve çok numuneli yeni bir yorulma cihazı tasarlanmıştır. Bu cihaz plastik ve kompozitlerin yorulması gibi düşük frekans ve düşük gerilme kullanılan testler için oldukça uygun olabilir. Ayrıca, aynı anda 16 adet numuneyi test edebildiği için de toplam test süresini azaltma ve zaman kazanma açısından çok önemlidir. Eğilme yorulması testlerinde "sabit gerilmeli" yorulma tipi kullanılmıştır. Bütün yapıların yorulma sınırını tespit edebilmek için, deneysel veriler kullanılarak S-N diyagramları (Wohler eğrileri) elde edilmiştir. Hasar kriteri ve yorulma ömür sınırı olarak, ortalama N=l O6 çevrime karşılık gelen eğilme gerilmesi alınmıştır. Yorulma ömürlerinin tahmini için, çizilen S-N diyagramlardan faydalanılarak amprik formüller türetilmiş ve malzeme sabitleri hesaplanmıştır. Kullanılan bu model ise literatürlerdeki modellere uygundur. Deney verilerinin istatiksel değerlendirmesi için iki parametreli Weibull dağılımı kullanılmıştır. Eğilme yorulması deneylerinin yanı sıra, çekme ve üç noktadan eğilme testleri de gerçekleştirilmiş ve sonuçlar değerlendirilmiştir. Test sonuçlarına göre en yüksek yorulma ömrü, 800 gr/m2' lik cam dokuma kullanılan 0/90° yönlü kompozitlerde tespit edilmiştir. Test sonuçlarının, cam dokuma fiberlerin alansal yoğunluğu, açısı, geçirgenliği ve tam ıslanıp ıslanmamasından etkilendiği görülmüştür., In order to study the bending fatigue behaviors of polyester composites with reinforced glass fiber, woven glass of 800, 500, 300 and 200 gr/m2, random mat glass of 225, 450 and 600 gr/m2 and polyester resin have been used. These samples obtained by the RTM (Resin Transfer Moulding) method; have been cut off within the direction of 0/90° and ±45°. Thus, nine different structures have been obtained. Additionally, a new molding has been designed for RTM and a simple method has been applied on this molding in order for the glass fibers to get wet perfectly. The target for the study is to investigate the damage resulting from the bending fatigue on the blades of axial fans and wind turbines made up of composite by reducing it to a simpler state. For these elements, firstly the fatigue life, the other mechanical properties and the most economical suitable materials have been tried to obtain. In order to provide a fatigue similar to the loading and stress shape in these elements, a new fatigue test machine with computer aided and with multi-specimen has been designed. This machine may be quite suitable for the test in which low frequency and low stress are used such as the fatigue of plastic and composites. Besides, it is very important in terms of reducing the total test period and of saving time. Fixed-stress fatigue type has-been used in bending fatigue tests. In order to find out the fatigue limit of all structures, S-N curves have been obtained by being used of experimental data. As failure criteria and fatigue life limit, the bending stress versus N=106 cycle on average has been taken. For the estimate of the fatigue life benefiting from the drawn S-N curves has derived empiric formulas and material constants have been calculated. This used modal is compatible with the modals taking places in the literature. For the statistical evaluation of the experiment data, Weibull distributions with two parameters have been used. In addition to the experiments of bending fatigue, tensile and three points bending tests have been accomplished and the results have been evaluated. According to the test results, the highest fatigue life has been obtained on the composites directed 0/90° on which the woven glass of 800 gr/m2 is used. It has been showed that the test results affected from areal density, direction, permeability and whether to get wet perfectly or not of fibers.
