Abstract

The article presents a study which investigates the yearly cycle of extreme daily precipitation events across Great Britain. It notes the use of extreme-value statistics (EVS) to analyze the phenomenon, and the generalized extreme value (GEV) distribution to provide time-series information of monthly maxima. It offers insights into the seasonal variations in Great Britain as well as the future impact of climate change.
