In this work, we study a spatially heterogeneous predator–prey model where the interaction is governed by a Holling II functional response. The existence of coexistence states of the two species by using the bifurcation theory is discussed. As a result, it is shown that the degeneracy for the prey and the predator has distinctly different effects on the coexistence states of the two species when the intrinsic growth rate of the prey is above a certain critical value. We also study the asymptotic behavior of positive stationary solutions as the intrinsic growth rate of the predator tends to a certain critical value. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper is concerned with positive solutions of a predator–prey model with cross-diffusion. By virtue of the Leray–Schauder degree theory and the bifurcation theory, some sufficient conditions for the existence of positive solutions of the system are established. In particular, we derive the multiplicity results when some parameters are suitably large. Moreover, the existence and stability of nonconstant solutions are studied by the techniques of space decomposition and the implicit function theorem. Abstract: In this paper, we consider an ecosystem of phytoplankton–nutrient which comes from pelagic zone of the ocean, by using remote sensing. We are concerned with the pattern formation of the model. We first give the asymptotic behavior of positive solutions of parabolic dynamical system. Then, we discuss the stability of constant positive solution and the boundedness of stationary solutions. Finally, the non-existence and existence results of the pattern are investigated by considering some parameters, the result shows that under certain range of these parameters, the pattern of the model occurs. Abstract: A diffusive predator–prey model with predator competition is considered under Dirichlet boundary conditions. Some existence and non-existence results are firstly obtained. Then by investigating the bifurcation of positive solutions, the multiplicity of positive solutions is established for suitably large . Furthermore, by meticulously analyzing the asymptotic behaviors of positive solutions when goes to , we find that there is at most a positive solution for any when is sufficiently large. The effect of large k which represents the extent of mutual interference between predators is extensively studied. By making use of the fixed point index theory, we obtain a complete understanding of the existence, uniqueness and stability of positive steady-states when k is sufficiently large. Abstract: In this paper the existence and non-existence of traveling wave solutions are established for a bio-reactor model with stage-structure. The method to prove the existence of wave solutions is to construct an invariant cone of initial functions defined in a large but bounded domain, to apply a fixed point theorem on this cone and then extend to the unbounded spatial domain by a limiting argument. Abstract: This paper is concerned with the existence and stability of periodic traveling curved fronts for reaction–diffusion equations with time-periodic bistable nonlinearity in two-dimensional space. Abstract: This paper deals with an unstirred chemostat model with the Beddington–DeAngelis functional response. First, a sufficient condition to the existence of positive steady state solutions is established. Second, the effect of the parameter in the Beddington–DeAngelis functional response which models mutual interference between species is considered. This paper deals with the unstirred chemostat model with crowding effects. The introduction of crowding effects makes the conservation law invalid, and the equations cannot be combined to eliminate one of the variables. Consequently, the usual reduction of the system to a competitive system of one order lower is lost. Thus the system with predation and competition is non-monotone, and the single population model cannot be reduced to a scalar system. First, the uniqueness and asymptotic behaviors of the semi-trivial solutions are established. Second, the existence and structure of coexistence solutions are given by the degree theory and bifurcation theory. It turns out that the positive bifurcation branch connects one semi-trivial solution branch with another. Finally, the stability and asymptotic behaviors of coexistence solutions are discussed in some cases. We study a reaction-diffusion system of the unstirred chemostat model with toxins in the N-dimensional case. Firstly, some sufficient conditions for the existence of positive steady-state solutions are obtained by means of the fixed point index theory. Secondly, the local structure of positive steady-state solutions and their stability are discussed by the bifurcation theory. Abstract: This paper is concerned with an autocatalysis model subject to no-flux boundary conditions. The existence of Hopf bifurcation are firstly obtained. Then by the center manifold theory and the normal form method, the direction of Hopf bifurcation and the stability of spatially homogeneous and inhomogeneous periodic solutions are established. On the other hand, the steady-state bifurcations from simple and double eigenvalues are intensively studied. The techniques of space decomposition and implicit function theorem are adopted to deal with the case of double eigenvalues.
