UFRRJ has three lakes: the Açu Lake, the Institute of Biology and the Botanical Garden Lake, they are the symbols of the University, and yet not find any historical record or study that tracks the quality of their waters. The following article exposes a survey conducted by students of the Technical College of Rural University, performing physicochemical analyzes of samples taken from the lakes and use this data as a tool for learning the chemistry discipline Environmental. To characterize the water quality are glued weekly, procedures by the analyzes and these are used as water status flags to characterize the pollution level of the lakes.
