In light of the changes and developments that have gained momentum in the 21st century, it is emphasized that the development process should be made sustainable and functional in today's rapidly globalizing societies. As a part of social life, it is important for individuals to adapt to sustainability. Within the scope of sustainable development goals, the issue of a sustainable environment for sustainable societies also comes to the fore. In this context, qualified education is emphasized for individuals and societies with sustainable awareness and awareness of environmental sensitivity. As a matter of fact, it is noteworthy that it is necessary to determine the levels of sustainable awareness and environmental awareness for sustainable development of teacher candidates who will be the educational veterans of the future. This study aims to examine the relationship between teacher candidates' sustainable awareness and environmental awareness levels for sustainable development. The research process was carried out with the relational screening model, which is one of the quantitative research methods, in accordance with the purpose and content of the study. In this study, the ‘Sustainable Consciousness Scale' prepared by Michalos et al. (2012), adapted by Yüksel Yıldız (2019), and the ’Environmental Sensitivity Scale’ prepared by Yeşil Turan (2020) were used. The data obtained were analyzed with the statistical analysis program. According to the descriptive statistics, it was seen that none of the data showed normal distribution, and group comparisons were made with the Mann-Whitney U test and Kruskal Wallis tests. As a result, it is understood that sustainable awareness and environmental awareness awareness levels for sustainable development are interrelated and reflected in the opinions of teacher candidates. It is thought that sustainable awareness and environmental awareness can be implemented by designing purposeful activities in schools to encourage the transformation of sustainable awareness and environmental awareness levels into behavior in individual and social life and that sustainable awareness and environmental awareness can be discussed in different education forums to support sustainable society.

Günümüzde hızlı nüfus artışı, çevre kirliliği, doğal kaynakların tükenmeye başlaması, iklim değişiklikleri, ekonomik krizler, sosyal eşitsizliğin artması gibi birçok problemde görülen artış sürdürülebilirliğin önemini daha da arttırmıştır. Gelecek nesillere daha adil, refah düzeyi yüksek ve yaşanabilir bir dünya bırakmak adına işletmelerin sürdürülebilir pazarlamayı anlamaları ve tüketicilerin çevre bilincine sahip olarak sürdürülebilir tüketim gerçekleştirmeleri oldukça önemlidir. Bu çalışmanın amacı sürdürülebilir pazarlama faaliyetlerinin tüketicilerin çevre bilinçleri ve sürdürülebilir tüketim davranışları üzerindeki etkilerini ve bu değişkenler arasındaki ilişkileri bir model çerçevesinde ortaya koyabilmektir. Çalışmada kolayda örnekleme ve çevrimiçi anket yöntemleri kullanılmış ve 404 kişilik bir örneklem büyüklüğüne ulaşılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde keşfedici faktör analizi, güvenilirlik analizi, doğrulayıcı faktör analizi ve yapısal eşitlik modellemesi analizlerinden yararlanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda sürdürülebilir pazarlama ve sürdürülebilir tüketim arasında pozitif yönlü bir ilişki olduğu; sürdürülebilir pazarlama ve çevre bilinci arasında pozitif yönlü bir ilişki olduğu; çevre bilinci ve sürdürülebilir tüketim arasında pozitif yönlü bir ilişki olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca çevre bilincinin, sürdürülebilir pazarlama ile sürdürülebilir tüketim arasındaki ilişkide aracı etkiye sahip olduğu tespit edilmiştir.

Bu çalışmada, yedinci sınıf öğrencilerinin ‘‘Evsel atıklar ve geri dönüşüm’’ konusunda, yaşam temelli öğrenme yaklaşımına dayalı olarak yapılan öğretimin, öğrencilerin çevre bilinci ve çevresel duyarlılık kazanımlarına etkisi araştırılmıştır. Araştırmada nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden ön test-son test kontrol gruplu yarı deneysel desen kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu, Akdeniz Bölgesindeki bir ilimizde yedinci sınıfta öğrenim gören, 21 deney grubu, 21 kontrol grubu öğrencisi olmak üzere toplamda 42 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak çevre bilinci ve çevresel duyarlılık ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen veriler SPSS paket programında Eşleştirilmiş İki Grup Arasındaki Fark Testi (paired-samples t-test) ile analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma bulgularına göre; Yaşam Temelli Öğrenme Yaklaşımı uygulamalarının deney grubu öğrencilerinin kirlilik bilinci, tasarruf bilinci ve geri dönüşüm bilinci puan ortalamalarında olumlu yönde farklılık oluşturduğu, bilişsel tepkiler, duyuşsal tepkiler ve etkinlik ve faaliyetlere katılım puan ortalamalarında artış meydana getirdiği tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca deney ve kontrol grubu öğrencilerinin çalışma öncesinde, orta düzeyde çevre bilinci ve çevresel duyarlılık kazanımına sahip oldukları ancak çalışma süreci sonunda, deney grubu öğrencilerinin çevre bilinci ve çevresel duyarlılık kazanımlarının çok iyi seviyeye yükseldiği görülmüştür. Bu çalışma, ortaokul yedinci sınıf öğrencilerinin çevreye karşı tam bilinçli olmasını, çevre duyarlılığının oluşumunu ve bu bilinç ve duyarlılığın sürekli olmasını sağlamak için geleneksel öğretim yöntemleri yerine Yaşam Temelli Öğrenme Yaklaşımı kullanımının daha uygun olduğunu ortaya koymaktadır.

The resources that nature offers to human beings are of course not infinite, unless there is a conscious and careful use, an "end" is coming in terms of natural resources. Preventing waste of resources, protecting nature and gaining the habit of recycling are now inevitable in order for healthy generations to continue their lives and to increase their economic development levels. There are not enough studies in the literature on the subject. The current study aims to determine the levels of individuals' behaviors and attitudes regarding the subject. The literature review section is divided into two sections. The first section briefly explains the recycling issue. The second section includes studies on recycling in Turkey and in the world. The current study measured and determined the focus group's level of awareness about recycling. SPSS was used to analyze the data. A total of 4885 people participated in the study. 60.8% of the participants were women and 39.2% of them were men. Participants had an average score of 106.04 (SD = 17.80) from the environmental awareness and sensitivity scale and considering that the maximum score to be obtained was 140, the participants were at a partially good level in terms of environmental awareness and sensitivity.

Due to environmental pollution, unplanned urbanization, excessive and uncontrolled consumption, global warming and pandemics, the world we live in is gradually moving away from being a liveable place. The continuation of biological life in the world depends on the improvement of environmental awareness in individuals. One of the important phenomena that develops environmental awareness in individuals is religion. There are some teachings in the heavenly and worldly religions that regulate the relationship of human beings with the environment. In this study, the relationship between environmental awareness and some demographic variables and devoutness were examined. The research sample consists of 589 individuals from different ages and professions residing in Trabzon. Environmental Awareness Scale and Ok-Religious Attitude Scale were used as measurement tools in the research. Correlation, t-test, one-way anova and regression analysis processes were applied in the analysis of the data. As a result of the analysis, statistically significant relationships were found between age, gender, marital status and occupation, religious attitude and environmental awareness. Regarding the main problem of the research, positive and significant relationships were found between religious attitude and environmental awareness. The research has revealed that the effective struggle with environmental problems is possible with the development of environmental awareness in individuals, and religion can make important contributions in this regard. Environmental activities have increased rapidly with the support of various national organizations. These indicators draw the social responsibility areas of organizations. Minimizing environmental hazards has become the most important factor that improves the reputation and image of institutions in the public opinion, as well as providing corporations a competitive advantage. The aim of the study is to address environmental problems that threaten public health directly and in various ways; To reveal the importance of taking and implementing effective measures at the institutional level on environmental pollution. In conclusion, this study emphasizes that policies that provide solutions to environmental problems, which are a global problem today should be re-designed; international institutions should take a more active role, and cooperation is of great importance. Plastic bags, which have an important place in the lives of consumers due to their advantages, cause damage in many areas during the production and consumption stages. Therefore, there are discussions about the use of plastic bags. The use of plastic bags is completely banned in some countries around the world due to the environmental and human health damages. In some countries, the use of plastic bags has started to be reduced with implemantions such as environmental tax and paid plastic bags. With the legal regulation implemented on January 1, 2019 in our country, it was decided to sell plastic bags at the markets for a fee. As of this date, plastic bags started to be sold for 25 cents in the markets. Therefore, the main purpose of the research is; consumers' awareness of the damages of plastic bags, environmental awareness, support to the law and social pressure factors to determine the effects of plastic bag reduction intention and using cloth bag intention. Another aim is to determine the effect of plastic bag reduction intention and using cloth bag intention on sustainable behavior. The questionnaire prepared for this purpose was applied to 427 consumers between 25.08.2019 and 25.09.2019. As a result of analysis of the obtained data with SPSS 21 and AMOS 24; awareness, environmental awareness, support for the law and social pressure have positive effects on the plastic bag reduction intention and using cloth bag intention, and plastic bag reduction intention and using cloth bag intention have positive effects on sustainable behavior. Global warming and the associated climate changes are considered by many to be the biggest problem facing world societies. The important role falls to the individual as well as institutions in the fight against this problem. Issues related to shopping behaviors, household practices and lifestyles cause environmental pollution and increase greenhouse gas emissions. In this study, the findings regarding the relationship between environmental awareness, environmental household practices and purchasing behavior, and the effect of socioeconomic characteristics of parents on this relationship are presented by using the data obtained from 403 households in Niğde. It was concluded that the awareness that constitutes a dimension of environmental awareness increased with the education of parents, whereas education is not sufficient for environmental behaviors. A similar result was obtained in terms of household income. When the findings obtained in the study are taken into consideration as a whole, it is concluded that the environmental awareness remaining in the awareness dimension is not sufficient for the implementation of environmental practices of the households, the households can only support the reduction of environmental problems by reaching environmental awareness at the level of internalization. The resources that nature offers to human beings are of course not infinite, unless there is a conscious and careful use, an "end" is coming in terms of natural resources. Preventing waste of resources, protecting nature and gaining the habit of recycling are now inevitable in order for healthy generations to continue their lives and to increase their economic development levels. There are not enough studies in the literature on the subject. The current study aims to determine the levels of individuals' behaviors and attitudes regarding the subject. The literature review section is divided into two sections. The first section briefly explains the recycling issue. The second section includes studies on recycling in Turkey and in the world. The current study measured and determined the focus group's level of awareness about recycling. SPSS was used to analyze the data. A total of 4885 people participated in the study. 60.8% of the participants were women and 39.2% of them were men. Participants had an average score of 106.04 (SD = 17.80) from the environmental awareness and sensitivity scale and considering that the maximum score to be obtained was 140, the participants were at a partially good level in terms of environmental awareness and sensitivity.

One of the main topics in geography is environment. Place is important for geography. One of the concepts that describe and introduce the place is environment. Environmental education has a more important place and it is a crucial stage for all sciences as well as to be beneficial to humanity which is the main aim of geography. For this reason, it is always necessary to conduct environmental education studies in the geography. In this research, a study on the problems of education in geography and environmental education and to indicate the impact on various environmental variables. For this purpose, an environmental questionnaire was developed which was consisting of three section: (1) personal information form, (2) environmental knowledge, and (3) environmental behavior. This survey, different grades level students in seven primary and five high schools, anyone who works in the public and private sector, from tradesman to housewife, totally 620 respondents were applied in the district of Çekmeköy (Istanbul). The gathered datas of the study were analyzed through descriptive statistical techniques in SPSS software. Mann- Whitney U and Kruskall-Wallis Tests were applied to correlational statistics techniques. Environmental education should be given in every environment, to be practical, and every environment should be used as a tool for environmental education. anemon Environmental education is based on the goal of raising conscious people on the axis of solving environmental problems, sustainable development, and protection of natural and artificial environment. According to this approach, raising conscious people who know the cause of environmental problems and develop attitudes and behaviors against environmental problems are among the main objectives of environmental education. Universities play an important role in environmental education. It should be among the environmental education objectives of universities to raise people who have developed environmental awareness and sensitivity, are aware of environmental problems and turn this into an attitude and behavior. The results of the research done on various areas in Turkey where teachers and students go beyond a theoretical knowledge of environmental education in Turkey and demonstrate that insufficient environmental education. In this study, the theoretical framework of environmental education is expressed. The course curriculum of Muş Alparslan University was examined and the status of the university in environmental education was reached. Çevre eğitimi çevresel sorunların çözümü, sürdürülebilir kalkınma, doğal ve yapay çevrenin korunması ekseninde bilinçli insanların yetiştirilmesi hedefine dayanmaktadır. Bu yaklaşıma göre çevresel sorunların sebebini bilen, çevresel sorunlar karşısında tutum ve davranış geliştiren çevresine duyarlı bilinçli insanların yetiştirilmesi çevre eğitiminin temel hedefleri arasındadır. Çevre eğitiminde üniversitelerin üstleneceği rol önemlidir. Çevre bilinci ve duyarlılığı gelişmiş, çevresel sorunların farkında olan ve bunu bir tutum ve davranışa dönüştüren insanların yetiştirilmesi üniversitelerin çevresel eğitim amaçları arasında olmalıdır. Türkiye’de öğretmenler ve öğrenciler üzerinde yapılan çeşitli alan araştırmalarının sonuçları Türkiye’de çevre eğitiminin teorik bir bilginin ötesine geçemediği ve çevre eğitiminin yetersiz olduğunu göstermektedir. Bu araştırma, Bartın Üniversitesi Siyaset Bilimi ve Kamu Yönetimi Bölümü lisans programında öğrenim gören son sınıf öğrencilerinin, öğrenim süreci boyunca aldıkları çevre eğitiminin, çevre sorunları ile ilgili bilgi ve bilinç düzeylerine ve çevre duyarlıklarına etkisini belirlemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Söz konusu programda kayıtlı olan 120 öğrenciyle yapılan anket çalışması neticesinde elde edilen verilere dayanılarak; aldıkları eğitim süreci içerisinde çevreye karşı farkındalıklarının arttığı saptanmıştır. Eğitim düzeyi yüksek bir ailede büyüyen öğrencilerin bireysel olarak çevre bilincinin daha yüksek olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Dolayısıyla çevreye ilişkin tehdit, tehlike ve kaygıların önümüzdeki dönemlerde daha da artacağı açıkça görüldüğüne göre bilgi ve bilinç düzeyinin artırılması için yarının ebeveynlerinin çevre, çevre sorunları ve çevre eğitimi konusunda bilgilendirilmesinin ve bilinçlendirilmesinin ne denli önemli olduğu ortaya çıkmaktadır. This research was carried out to determine the effect of environmental education, received during the education process of the fourth-year students studying in the undergraduate program of the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at Bartin University, on the level of knowledge and awareness of environmental problems and environmental sensitivity. Based on the data obtained as a result of the survey conducted with 120 students enrolled in the program, it was determined that the awareness of the students towards the environment increased during the education process they received. It has been concluded that students who grow up in a family with a high education level have higher environmental awareness individually. Therefore, as it is clear that the threats, dangers and concerns about the environment will increase in the coming periods, it becomes clear how important it is to inform and raise awareness of the students, who will be the parents of tomorrow, about the environment, environmental problems and environmental education in order to increase the level of knowledge and awareness

Çevre tüm canlıların yaşamında önemli bir rol oynamaktadır. Temiz bir çevrede yaşamak bütün insanların ortak isteğidir. Zira çevreden en çok yararlanan insanlar, ama en çok kirleten de yine insanlardır. Son yıllarda özellikle çevre kirliliği üst düzeye çıkmıştır. Çevrenin doğal yapısının ve bileşiminin bozulması, değişmesi sonucunda insanların, canlıların ve cansızların olumsuz yönde etkilemesi çevre kirliliği olarak tanımlanmaktadır ve gerekli önlemler alınmazsa ileride çok kötü sonuçlarla karşılaşacağımız olasıdır. Çevreyi kirletmek, kendi varlığımızıyok etmeye çalışmaktır. Bilinçsizce kullanılan her şey gibi temiz ve sağlıklıtutulmayan çevre bizlere zarar vermektedir. O yüzden dünya üzerinde yaşayan her bireyin çevre konusunda bilinçlenmesi gerekmektedir. Çünkü gelecek nesillere bırakacağımız temiz bir çevre en değerli mirasımız olacaktır. Çevre bilinci henüz daha çocukken kazandırılmasıgereken hem evrensel hem de toplumsal bir değerdir. Bu bilinçle yetişen çocuk ileride çevresini temiz tutma konusunda bilgili, tutarlıve hassas olacaktır. Bu bağlamda Aytül Akal’ın beşserilik masal kitaplarıözellikle çocuklarda erken yaşta çevre bilinci kazandırma konusunda önerilecek eserlerdir. Akal, “çocuk gerçekliği” ve “çocuğa görelik” ilkelerine bağlıkalarak kurguladığımasallarında çocukta çevre bilinci geliştirme konusunda oldukça başarılıdır.

- Abstract
Blue Flag is an international environmental award issued to yachts, whale-watching boats, beaches and marinas and was also firstly implemented in France in 1985. In this study, situation analysis according to countries was done by referring the importance of Blue Flag System in marine tourism sector and its assessment criteria. Blue Flag implementation which occupies a critical role in development of coastal zone management has great importance in enhancing environmental awareness and in the protection of coastal zones. The number of countries which implements Blue Flag System has been increasing in years because of that Blue Flag System provides competitive advantage in the tourism sector. In addition, the increasing number of facilities carrying Blue Flag within the countries which implements Blue Flag System reveals that these countries are becoming more sensitive and meticulous in implementation of this system. Considering the current situation of Turkey which is one of the implementer of Blue Flag, Turkey had 6 Blue Flag beaches and 9 Blue Flag marinas in 1994, while this number increased to 436 beaches and 22 marinas entitled to hold Blue Flag in 2015. This situation has increased to Turkey to the 2nd place in the international rankings in terms of Blue Flag beaches and to the 7th place in terms of Blue Flag marinas. Besides, in 2007 there were no Blue Flag yachts which hoist Turkish Flag, this number increased to 14 Blue Flag yachts in 2015. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
The purpose of this study is to make suggestions about improving recycling consciousness through analyzing recycling and environmental protection awareness and defining attitudes and behavioral tendencies of consumers. Two socio-economically distinct neighborhoods were selected as research population and recyclable waste of these two districts were analyzed. In the next stage, data were collected through in depth interviews with the residents of respective neighborhoods about their environmental and recycling awareness and attitudes, which was followed by data analysis. Results indicate that participants interpret various definitions of the environment from different viewpoints and they are not aware of how their environment protection behaviors which are supposedly true, could lead to pollution. Environmental issues are basically caused by limitless consumption of the environment by people to gain more together with the increasing population in the world as well as valuing their individual interests above the common interests and values of the society. As a result, the ecological balance is spoiled, environmental issues take on a global dimension. Many researches are conducted about environmental issues today and studies on this are encouraged. While some disciplines concentrate on environmental issues and continue their researches, emphasis is made increasingly on the interaction between human and environment in social life, and it is seen that sensitivity is increasing among enterprises in this matter. Environmental activities have rapidly got stronger and gained acceleration with the support of various national organizations. Such indicators draw and social responsibility areas of organizations in the general manner. Therefore, minimizing the environmental hazards became the most important factor to improve the reputation and image of corporations in the public opinion in addition to provide competition advantage to corporations. The aim of the study is to address environmental problems that threaten public health directly and in multiple ways; to take effective measures on environmental pollution at institutional level and to demonstrate the importance of implementation. As a result of the study, the redesign of policies that contain solutions to environmental problems that have become a global problem today; it is emphasized that international institutions should take a more active role and the importance of cooperation. Çevre sorunlarının temel nedeni, artan dünya nüfusu ve insanların daha fazla kazanmak için yaşadıkları çevreyi tüketmeleridir. Bunun sonucunda ekolojik denge bozulmakta, çevre sorunları küresel bir boyut kazanmaktadır. Bazı disiplinler çevre sorunlarına yoğunlaşarak araştırmalarını sürdürürken, toplumsal alanda insan ve çevre arasındaki etkileşim üzerine giderek artan bir vurgu yapılmakta; işletmelerde bu konuyla ilgili duyarlılığın arttığı gözlenmektedir. Çevresel faaliyetler, çeşitli ulusal kuruluşların destekleriyle hızla artmıştır. Bu tür göstergeler genel anlamda kuruluşların sosyal sorumluluk alanlarını çizmektedir. Bu nedenle çevresel tehlikelerin en aza indirilmesi, kurumlara rekabet avantajı sağlamanın yanı sıra kamuoyunda kurumların itibarını ve imajını geliştiren en önemli faktör haline gelmiştir. Çalışmanın amacı, halk sağlığını doğrudan ve çeşitli şekillerde tehdit eden çevre sorunlarının ele alınması; çevre kirliliği konusunda kurumsal düzeyde etkin önlem almanın ve uygulamanın önemini ortaya koymaktır. Çalışma sonucunda, günümüzde küresel bir sorun haline gelen çevre sorunlarına çözümler içeren politikaların yeniden tasarlanması; uluslararası kurumların daha aktif rol alması gerektiği ve iş birliğinin önemi vurgulanmaktadır.

50. The effect of environmental movements in creating environmental awareness: the case of Bartın-Amasra

İnsanların üretim ve tüketim faaliyetleri sonucu ortaya çıkan çevre sorunları, dünyanın geleceğini tehdit etmektedir. Su, hava ve toprak kirliliği, iklim değişikliği, doğal kaynakların tükenmesi, ormansızlaşma, endemik hayvan ve bitki türlerinin yok olması yaşanan çevre sorunlarına örnek olarak sayılmaktadır. Çevre sorunlarına karşı alınacak önlemlerden biri insanlarda çevre bilincinin oluşturulmasıdır. Çevre hareketlerinin, çevre bilincinin oluşmasında etkili olduğu düşüncesi araştırmanın hipotezidir. Bu bağlamda çevre bilinci ve çevre hareketleri konularında teorik çerçeve oluşturularak, Bartın-Amasra'da yapılan alan araştırması ile bu düşüncenin sınanması amaçlanmıştır. Tezin teorik kısmının oluşturulmasında eleştirel literatür taraması yönteminden yararlanılmış, Bartın-Amasra'da yapılan alan araştırmasında ise anket yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Yapılan araştırma sonucu çevre hareketine katılım oranının %61,25 olduğu görülmüştür. Ayrıca, termik santrale karşı ortaya çıkan çevre hareketlerinin, katılımcıların çevreye yönelik tutumlarını olumlu yönde etkilediğine dair anlamlı farklılıklar bulunmuştur. Environmental issues arising from the production and consumption activities of humans are threaten the future of the Earth. Water, air and soil pollution, climate change, depletion of natural resources, deforestation, disappearance of endemic animal and plant species are examples of the environmental issues experienced. One of the measures to be taken against environmental issues is to create environmental awareness in humans. The hypothesis of the research is that environmental movements are effective in the creation of environmental awareness. In this regard, by establishing a theoretical framework on environmental awareness and environmental movements, the idea was tested through a field study conducted in the Amasra district of Bartın. Critical literature review method was used in forming the theoretical part of the thesis, and the survey method was used in the field research conducted in Bartın-Amasra. The findings suggest that the rate of participation in the environmental movement is 61.25%. Furthermore, significant differences were found that the environmental movements against the coal fired power plant positively affected the research participants' attitudes towards the environment.
