Girişimciliğin ortaya çıkmasını etkileyen faktörler uzun zamandan beri sosyal bilimciler tarafından merak edilen ve araştırılan konulardan biri olmuştur. Bu tezin amacı, girişimciliği ortaya çıkaran faktörleri açıklamak ve bu faktörler arası ilişkiyi incelemektir. Analizde kültür boyutları girişimcilikte temel itici faktör olarak değerlendirilmiş ve bunun yanı sıra kültür ve girişimcilik niyeti arasındaki ilişki öncüllerin aracı etkisi ile birlikte araştırılmıştır. Bu değişkenler arasındaki ilişki iki farklı kurumsal yapıya ve kültürel değerlere sahip ülke bağlamında değerlendirilmiştir.Çalışmada öncelikle konuya ilişkin kavramsal ve kuramsal değerlendirmeler incelenmiş ve ilgili literatür detaylı bir biçimde açıklanmıştır. Literatür taramasının ardından araştırma soruları sorulmuş ve ana hipotezler geliştirilmiştir. Araştırmanın ana kütlesini Bulgaristan'daki Türkler ile Bulgaristan'dan Türkiye'ye 1989'da göç edenler oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın örneklemi Bulgaristan'da yaşayan 384 Türk ve Türkiye'ye göç eden 385 göçmen olmak üzere toplam 769 kişiden oluşmaktadır. Bu örneklem aracılığıyla araştırma soruları yanıtlanmaya çalışılmış ve hipotezler nicel bir yöntem kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Veri analizinde basit tanımlayıcı istatistikler, frekans ve yüzde dağılımlarının yanı sıra farklılık hipotezlerini sınamak için t-testi ve ANOVA testi gibi testler kullanılmıştır. Ayrıca, değişkenler arasındaki ilişkinin belirlenmesi için çoklu regresyon analizi kullanılmıştır. Nicel analizler yardımıyla öncelikle algılanan ulusal kültür boyutları (güç mesafesi, belirsizlikten kaçınma, kurumsal kolektivizm, grup içi kolektivizm, gelecek yönelimlilik, performans yönelimlilik, girişkenlik, cinsiyet eşitliği ve insan yönelimlilik) tespit edilmiş, daha sonra belirlenen öncüllerin (algılanan davranışsal kontrol, davranışa yönelik tutum, öznel norm ve davranışa yönelik algılanan fayda) girişimcilik niyeti üzerindeki aracı etkileri araştırılmıştır. Çalışmadan elde edilen sonuçlar, üç kültür boyutu (güç mesafesi, cinsiyet eşitliği ve insan yönelimlilik) ile girişimcilik niyeti arasında istatistiki açıdan anlamlı bir ilişki olduğunu kanıtlamaktadır. Regresyon analizi sonuçlarına göre güç mesafesinin niyet üzerindeki etkisi negatif iken diğer iki boyutun etkisi pozitiftir. Aracı değişkenlerin, niyet üzerinde aracı rolleri nedeniyle araştırma modelinde önemli rol oynadıkları tespit edilmiştir. Bulgaristan'daki Türkler ile Türkiye'deki Bulgaristan göçmenleri arasında girişimcilik niyeti bakımından anlamlı bir fark olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Son olarak bu analizde kullanılan modelin her iki ülke için uygun olup olmadığını test edilmiştir. Test sonuçları, modelin her iki örneklem için de uygun olduğunu göstermiştir. The factors that influence the emergence of entrepreneurship have long been studied and investigated by social scientist. The aim of this dissertation is also to explain both the staggering factors of entrepreneurship and to investigate the relationship among these factors. In the analysis, cultural dimensions are considered as the basic driving factors of entrepreneurship as well as entrepreneurial intention with the special emphasis on the specific mediating variables. The relationships among these variables are assessed for two countries which have different institutional structure and cultural values.In the study, firstly, the conceptual and the theoretical assessments are surveyed and the literature on the subject is reviewed in detail. After reviewing the literature, the research questions are asked and the main hypotheses are developed.The population of the research is the Turks living in Bulgaria and the Turks those migrated from Bulgaria to Turkey in 1989. The sample of the study comprises 769 people; 384 of these people are living in Bulgaria and 385 of these people are migrants living in Turkey. Using this sample the research questions are tried to be answered and the hypothesis are tested using quantitative method. Besides presenting the simple descriptive statistics, frequencies, and percentage distributions, more sophisticated tests including t-tests and ANOVA tests are employed in order to test the hypothesis of the study. Furthermore, determining the certain relationship among the variables multiple regression analysis is also utilized. The quantitative analysis helped us to establish testing the dimensions of perceived national culture (power distance, uncertainty avoidance, institutional collectivism, in-group collectivism, future orientation, performance orientation, assertiveness, gender egalitarianism and human orientation); and then, the effects of mediating variables (perceived behavioral control, attitude toward the behavior, subjective norms and perceived benefit about behavior) on the entrepreneurial intention are investigated.The findings of the study prove that there is a statistically significant relationship between the three cultural dimensions (power distance, gender egalitarianism, and human orientation) and entrepreneurial intention. The results of regression analysis show that there is a negative relationship between power distance and the intention. However, the relationship between the intention and two other dimensions is positive. It can be concluded that these mediating variables play an important role as mediators in the research model. It has been found that there is a significant difference in entrepreneurial intention between Bulgarian immigrants living in Turkey and Turks in Bulgaria. Lastly, it is tested whether the model used in the analysis is suitable for the both countries. The results of the test indicate that the model is valid and fits for both samples. 246
