This paper presents an analysis of Dominant Path Model on perpendicular and angular transmitter that was operated at 5.8GHz. The simulation uses win Prop software and the measurement was done at UniCITI Alam campus, Perlis. Comparison of the path loss and signal strength was done when different transmitter position and different receiver height were considered. Angular transmitter positioning shows better performance and this was indicated by a 7.87 dB lesser loss when compared to perpendicular positioning. The analysis considers an effect of receiver height were the perpendicular position performs better at 1.0 m receiver height. However, angular transmitter performed 0.1 m receiver is suitable for short distance and 1.5 m receiver height is better for longer distance receiver point.
