Abstract

Objetivo: Compreender como a espiritualidade é incorporada pelos integrantes da equipe do Programa de Internação Domiciliar Interdisciplinar (PIDI) Oncológico no cuidado paliativo. Metodologia: Estudo de abordagem qualitativa, descritiva e exploratória, fundamentada na Teoria Histórico-Cultural de Vygotsky. Compuseram a pesquisa todos os integrantes da equipe interdisciplinar, totalizando oito sujeitos. Os dados foram coletados por meio da técnica de grupo focal, com cinco encontros realizados durante o período de fevereiro a maio de 2009, nos quais contou-se com a participação de dois observadores. Resultados: Emergiram dois temas: Cuidados paliativos e a espiritualidade e A espiritualidade e o processo de morrer. Os profissionais relacionaram a espiritualidade como forma de promover reflexão e aceitação da morte e sua relevância nas ações paliativistas. Conclusão: Podemos perceber que esta equipe mostrou-se disposta a compreender e adotar a espiritualidade durante a execução dos cuidados paliativos das pessoas em processo de morrer. Objetivo: Comprender cómo la espiritualidad es acogida por los integrantes del equipo del Programa de Internação Domiciliar Interdisciplinar (PIDI) oncológico en los cuidados paliativos. Metodología: Estudio de enfoque cualitativo, descriptivo y exploratorio, basado en la Teoría Histórico-Cultural de Vygotsky. Participaron en esta investigación todos los miembros del equipo interdisciplinario, con un total de ocho personas. Los datos fueron recolectados a través de grupos focales, con cinco reuniones durante el período febrero-mayo de 2009, en las que se contó con la participación de dos observadores. Resultados: Emergieron dos temas: Cuidados paliativos y espiritualidad y La espiritualidad y el proceso de muerte. Los profesionales consideraron la espiritualidad como una forma de promover la reflexión y la aceptación de la muerte y su relevancia en las acciones paliativas. Conclusión: Somos conscientes de que este equipo mostró su disposición a comprender y adoptar la espiritualidad durante la ejecución de los cuidados paliativos a las personas en el proceso de muerte. Objective: To understand how spirituality is adopted by members of the team of oncological Programa de Internação Domiciliar Interdisciplinar (PIDI) in palliative care. Methodology: Qualitative, descriptive, and exploratory study, based on Vygotsky's Cultural-Historical Theory. The survey was composed for all members of the interdisciplinary team; in total, eight subjects. The data were collected through focus groups in five meetings from February to May of 2009. Results: Two topics emerged from data analysis: Palliative care and spirituality, and The spirituality and the dying process. Professionals regarded spirituality as a way to promote reflection and acceptance of death and its relevance in palliative actions. Conclusion: We realize that this team exhibited its willingness to understand and embrace the spirituality during the implementation of palliative care to people in the dying process.

Abstract

Objective: to know the view of the family of cancer patients accompanied by a consulting team, regarding palliative care in a hospital. Method: a qualitative and descriptive study with ten relatives of patients undergoing palliative care, accompanied by a palliative care consulting team, intra-hospital, of a teaching hospital. Data collection took place from November 2017 to January 2018, through semi-structured interviews. Data were analyzed following the Braun and Clarke thematic analysis proposal. Results: most participants demonstrated to have some approach or experience with the concept of palliative care. After recognizing the disease as incurable, participants seemed to recognize exposure to anticancer treatments and invasive measures as possible sources of suffering for their family member. For family members and cancer patients, it is expected that the palliative approach will be able to provide quality of life, integrating the relief of physical and emotional symptoms to this conception. Conclusion: the views attributed to the hospital palliative approach demonstrate the need to respect the particularities of individuals, for the deconstruction of the biomedical perspective.
