Bu çalışmanın amacı; yerli bir enerji kaynağı olan Afşin-Elbistan linyitlerini kullanırsak, cari işlemler açığındaki yükün ne kadar azaltılabileceğini tespit etmektir. Bu çalışmada, ilk olarak enerji ekonomisi alanında çalışılan literatür incelenmiştir. Literatür incelenmesinden sonra; elektrik enerjisi sektörünün yapısı, özellikleri ve tarihsel gelişimi izah edilmiştir. Bunlara ek olarak, Dünya ve Türkiye düzeyindeki enerji ve elektrik enerjisi sektörüne ilişkin veriler tarihsel bakış açısıyla sunulmuş ve mevcut durumun görülebilmesi için önemli ülkelerin enerji politikalarına yer verilmiştir. Ayrıca, enerji bağımlılığının Türkiye'nin cari işlemler açığı üzerindeki rolü, verilerin analiziyle incelenmiştir. Bu çalışmada, Afşin Elbistan bölgesinde kurulması beklenen linyit yakıtlı elektrik santrallerinin 2023 itibariyle faaliyete geçeceği varsayılmış ve söz konusu enerji santrallerinin cari işlemler dengesine olumlu etkisi hesaplanmıştır. Bulgular, linyit kaynaklarının kullanılmasının doğal gaz tüketim miktarını azaltacağını ve bu durumun cari işlemler hesabı üzerinde olumlu etkiye sahip olacağını göstermektedir. . Bu durumun, toplam elektrik üretimi içindeki doğal gaz payını düşürmesi beklenirken linyitin toplam elektrik üretimi içindeki payını arttırması beklenmektedir. Bu çalışmada kullanılan hesaplamalar, önümüzdeki yıllarda faaliyete geçecek nükleer santralleri de dikkate almaktadır. Bunu yapmamızın nedeni, söz konusu nükleer santrallerin toplam elektrik üretimi içindeki birincil enerji kaynakların payını etkilemesidir. The purpose of this study is to detect how much current account deficit burden could be reduced if we utilize Afşin-Elbistan lignites which are local energy sources. In this study, firstly literature survey in energy economics are made. After the literature survey; structure, characteristics and historical improvement of the electricity energy sector are explained. In addition to them, data on energy and electricity energy sector at the world and Turkey level are presented from a historical perspective and energy policies of important countries are included in order to see the current situation. Furthermore, the role of energy dependency on the current account deficit of Turkey is investigated by analyzing data. In this study, it is assumed that the lignite-fired power plants, which are expected to be established in Afsin Elbistan region, will be operational as of 2023 and the positive effect of the said power plants on the current account balance is calculated. The findings indicate that utilizing lignite sources will decrease the amount of natural gas consumption and it will have a positive effect on the current account balance of Turkey. This will also increase the share of the lignite in total electricity mix and decrease the share of the natural gas in the total electricity mix. Calculations utilized in this study also takes into account nuclear power plants which will be into operation in the following years. The reason why we do this is that they will affect the total electricity energy mix. 126

Tez (Yüksek Lisans) -- İstanbul Teknik Üniversitesi, Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsü, 2009, Thesis (M.Sc.) -- İstanbul Technical University, Institute of Science and Technology, 2009, Bu çalışmanın amacı, TTK Amasra Sahası’nda bulunan üç damar için yerinde metan gazı içeriği hesabının yapılması ve elde edilen veriler kullanılarak Türkiye taşkömürü rezervine göre Türkiye kömür yatağı metanı potansiyelinin hesaplanmasıdır. Bu üç damarın metan gazı içeriğinin hesaplanması için ilgili damarlara ait TTK tarafından 2007 Mart ayında yapılmış olan çalışmada elde edilen veriler kullanılmıştır. Türkiye kömür yatağı metanı potansiyeli hesabı yapılırken, Türkiye’de bulunan taşkömürleri özelliklerinin, Amasra Müessesesi’ndeki üç damara ait özelliklerle aynı olduğu varsayılmıştır. Çalışmanın başında kömür hakkında genel bilgiler verilmiş ve Türkiye’de bulunan kömür türleri ve rezervleri incelenmiştir. Daha sonra kömür yatağı metanının ne olduğu, metanın kömürde nasıl oluştuğu, nasıl depolandığı, kömürün metan gazı içeriğini etkileyen parametrelerin neler olduğu incelenerek, kömürün metan gazı içeriği hesaplama yöntemleri anlatılmıştır. Yerinde metan gazı içeriği formülü kullanılarak Amasra Sahası’da bulunan bu üç damar için metan gazı içeriği hesaplanmış ve Türkiye’nin taşkömürü rezervine bağlı olarak Türkiye kömür yatağı metanı potansiyeli bulunmuştur. Elde edilen sonuçlar daha önceki yıllarda yapılan çalışmalarla karşılaştırılmış, bu sonuçların bazı çalışmalarla benzerlik gösterdiği görülmüştür., Purpose of this study is to calculate original methane in place at three seams at TTK Amasra Zone and calculate the coal bed methane potential of Turkey according to Turkey bituminous coal reserve. So as to calculate original methane in place, data which are calculated by TTK at 2007 March are used. It is assumed that the properties of all bituminous coal of Turkey same as the three seams at Amasra Zone. Firstly, general information about coal is given and coal types and their reserves in Turkey are examined. Then, what coal bed methane is, how methane is formed, how methane is stored, what the parameters are affected methane volume are examined and calculation methode of methane volume described. Original methane in three seams at Amasra zone is calculated by original gas in place formula and according to Turkey bituminous coal reserve, the coal bed methane potential of Turkey is calculated. İnceleme alanın temelini yaygın olarak serpantinleşmiş ultrabazik kayaç ve farklı boyutlardaki kireçtaşı blokları içeren Üst Kretase yaşlı Tekelidağ Karışığı oluşturmaktadır. Bu birim üzerine uyumsuz olarak genelde çakıltaşlarından oluşan Üst Paleosen yaşlı Bahçecik Konglomeraları gelir. Bu çalışmada değerlendirilen kömürler Bahçecik Konglomeralarının tabanında yer almaktadır. Formasyonu uyumsuz olarak genellikle masif jipslerden oluşan Oligosen yaşlı Hafik Formasyonu üzerler ve Alt Miyosen yaşlı genel olarak kumtaşının egemen olduğu Karacaören Formasyonu tarafından açılı uyumsuzlukla üzerlenir. Birim üzerine Pliyosen yaşlı çakıltaşı, kumtaşı ve yer yer silttaşlarından oluşan İncesu Formasyonu uyumsuz olarak gelir. Genç akarsu çökellerinden oluşan Kuvaterner yaşlı Karacahisar Formasyonu İncesu Formasyonu üzerine uyumsuz olarak çökelmiştir. Tüm bu birimleri alüvyonlar uyumsuzlukla örtmektedir.Bu çalışma ile Hafik civarında (Sivas Kuzeydoğusu) yüzeyleyen Eosen - Paleosen yaşlı kömürlerin organik madde miktarı, organik madde tipi ve organik olgunlaşma özelliklerinin organik jeokimyasal, organik petrografik analizlerle belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu kapsamda kömür örnekleri ile kömürün alt ve üst düzeylerinde bulunan koyu gri siyahımsı killi ve karbonatlı yan kayaç örneklerinde TOK- Rock Eval piroliz analizi ve petrografik değerlendirmeler yapılmıştır. Kömürün kısa ve elementer analizi ile petrografik değerlendirmesi yapılarak çökel ortam özellikleri, kömürleşme derecesi, kömürün tipi hakkında bilgi edinilmiştir.Hafik civarındaki kömürler kalınlığı 67-80 cm olan iki farklı damar halinde izlenmektedir. Bu kömürlerin havada kuru bazda ortalama ısıl değerleri alt ısıl değer 1752-6347 (ortalama 4828,9 Kcal/kg) ve üst ısıl değer 1846- 6606 (ortalama 5033,6 Kcal/kg) dır. Toplam nem % 8.22- 18.78 (ortalama % 9.65), kül miktarı % 7.87-54.48 (ortalama % 24,64), uçucu madde içeriği % 36,73-47.98 (ortalama % 43.36), sabit karbon % 7,21-44.15 (ortalama % 32.02) olarak belirlenmiştir. Bileşimini oluşturan C değeri % 53.01- 75.21 (ortalama 70.11), H değeri % 3.93-5.45 (ortalama % 5,15), N değeri % 0,65- 1.11 (ortalama % 0.96), O değeri % 12.04- 40.07 (ortalama % 18.5), % S değeri ise 2.34- 6.98 (ortalama % 5.27) aralığında değişmektedir.İncelenen 18 örnekte Toplam Organik Karbon (TOC) değeri % 0.32-72.45 arasında değişmekte olup ortalama % 28.32 dir. Özellikle kömürlü seviyelerde TOC değerleri oldukça yüksektir (%38.42-60.70).Rock Eval piroliz analizi ile 18 örnek değerlendirilmiştir. Hidrojen İndeksi değerleri 17-442 mg HC/g TOC (ortalama 187,5 mg HC/g TOC), Oksijen İndeksi değerleri ise 16-210 mg CO2/g TOC (ortalama 60,28 mg CO2/g TOC) aralığında değişmektedir. HI-OI ve HI-Tmax diyagramlarında örneklerin çoğunlukla Tip II-III, bir kısmının ise Tip III alanında olduğu gözlenmektedir.Tmax değerleri 412-431 oC arasında olup ortalama 422, 1 oC dir ve örneklerin henüz olgunlaşmadıklarını göstermektedir. HI-Tmax diyagramında değerler olgunlaşmamış ve olgunlaşma başlangıcını işaret eder.Vitrinit yansıması ölçümleri; Rmax ortalama % 0,48 (% 0,45-0,49) ve Rmin % 0,38 (% 0,352- 0,399) değerleri olarak ölçülmüştür ve olgunlaşmamış çökelleri ifade eder. 10 örnekte kerojen slaytlarının mikroskobik değerlendirmesi yapılmış ve bileşimi oluşturan organik madde türleri belirlenmiştir. Egemen organik maddeyi kömürsü bileşenler oluşturmaktadır (ortalama % 83). Bunun yanı sıra %5-15 oranında odunsu (ortalama % 8,5), % 5 oranında otsu ve % 5-10 oranında da amorf (ortalama % 4,5) organik madde belirlenmiştir. Organik maddeler olgunlaşma değerlerine bağlı olarak açık-koyu kahverengi renkler göstermektedir. Kömürlerin petrografik değerlendirmelerinde ise mikroskobik bileşimi egemen olarak Hüminit grubunun oluşturduğu bunun yanı sıra liptinitler ve en az oranda da inertinit grubu maserallerin bulunduğu belirlenmiştir. Vitrinit (Hüminit) % 65-85 (ortalama 79,38), Liptinit % 4-12 (ortalama; 5,75), İnertinit % 2-13 (ortalama 4,63) oranındadır.Örnekler genelde yüksek oranda inorganik maddeler içermektedir (% 6-14 arasında ortalama % 8). İnorganik bileşimi çoğunlukla killer, karbonat (kalsit), sülfatlı (jips) ve demirli (pirit) mineraller oluşturmaktadır. Kömürler pirit açısından çok zengindir ve yaygın pirit şekli framboidal pirittir (pirit oranı % 1-4, ortalama: 2,25).İncelenen kömürler ASTM sınıflamasına göre Altbitümlü kömürdür. Kömürler lagüner bir ortamda oluşmuştur. Gerek kalori düzeyinin düşük olması gerekse içinde çevre kirliliği açısından zararlı olan bileşenleri bol olarak bulundurması nedeniyle yaygın kullanım olasılığı düşüktür. The basement of the investigated area consists of Upper Cretaceous aged Tekelidağ melange composed of various sized limestone blocks and serpantine ultrabasic rocks. Upper Paleocene- Lower Eocene aged Bahçecik conglomerates which are mainly composed of gravel overlie this unit unconformably. The coals which are examined in this work occur in the Bahçecik Conglomerate level. The formation unconformably overlies the Oligocene aged Hafik Formation which is generally composed of massive gypsum and also overlies with a angular unconformity the Lower Miocene aged Karacaören Formation which is generally dominated by sandstone. Over this level unconformably lies the İncesu Formation which is composed of Pliocene aged gravel, sandstone and partly siltstone. Quaternary aged Karacahisar Formation composed from new river sediments have deposited unconformably over İncesu Formation. All these units are unconformably covered by alluviums.This work aims to determine the amount of organic matter, type of organic matter and the organic maturation characteristics of Eocene- Paleocene aged coals which outcrop around Hafik (North-East Sivas). In this context, TOC-Rock Eval pyrolysis analysis and petrographic evaluation were carried out on the coal samples and also the carbonated hosted rocks and the dark grey-black clay found in the levels above and below the coal. By carrying out petrographic evaluation, proximate and elemental analysis on the coal, data on the characteristics of the sedimentation environment, degree of carbonisation and type of coal were obtained.It can be observed that coals in the Hafik region occur in two different veins with depths varying between 67-80 cms. The average calorific values at dry levels in air of this coal were net calofiric value 1752-6347 (average 4828.9 Kcal/kg) and gross calofiric value 1846-6606 (average 5033.6 Kcal / kg). It was determined that the total moisture was 8.22- 18.78 % (average 9.65%), amount of clay was 7.87 ? 54.48 % (average 24.64 %), content of volatile matter was 36.73 - 47.98 % (average 43.36 %), and fixed carbon was 7.21 - 44.15 % (average 32.02 %). The C value of the mixture varied between 53.01 ? 75.21 % (average 70.11%), H value between 3.93 ? 5.45 % (average 5.151%), N value between 0.65 ? 1.11 % (average 0.96%), O value between 12.04 ? 40.07 % (average 18.5%) and S value between 2.34-6.98% (average 5.27%).In the 18 examined samples, the Total Organic Carbon (TOC) value varied between 0.32 ? 72.45 % with an average of 28.32%. The total organic carbon level in the coaly levels was especially high (38.42 ? 60.70 %).18 samples were evaluated using the Rock Eval Pyrolysis analysis. The Hydrogen Index levels varied between 17-442 mg HC/g TOC (average of 187.5 mg HC/g TOC) and the Oxygen Index varied between 16 ? 210 mg CO2/g TOC (average 60.28 mg CO2/g TOC). It can be seen that the samples in the HI-OI and the HI-Tmax diagrams are mainly of type II-III, with some in the area of type III.The T-max values varied between 412 ? 431 °C with an average of 422.1 °C and it was observed that the samples had not yet matured. The HI-Tmax diagram indicates that the values had not matured but maturation had begun.The vitrinit reflectance values were measured as follows; Average Rmax was 0.48% (0.45 ? 0.49 %) and Rmin was 0.38% (0.352 % - 0.399%) and indicated immature sedimentation. In 10 samples, Kerogen slides microscopic evaluation was carried out and the types of organic matter in the compound were determined.Dominant organic matter was composed of coaly compunds (average 83 %). Also it was determined that 5 ? 15% was woody (average 8.5%), 5% was herbecaous and 5-10% was amorphous (average 4.5%) organic matter. Organic matter was shown with light-dark brown colours depending on the maturation values. In the petrographic evaluation of the coal, it was determined that microscopic compound was dominated by Huminite group besides Liptinits and the lowest rate of inertinit group maseralls were found. Vitrinite (Hüminit) had a rate of 65-85% (average 79.38 %), Liptinite was 4-12% (average 5.75%), and Inertinite had 2-13 % (average 4.63 %).In general the samples contained high levels of inorganic matter (between 6 ? 14%, average of 8%). The inorganic compound was mainly composed of clays, carbonate (calcite), sulphate (gypsium) and pyrite minerals. The coals were very rich in terms of pyrite and the widespread pyrite form was framboidal pyrite (rate of pyrite1-4 %, average 2.25%).The examined coals are Lower bituminous coals according to the classification of ASTM The coals developed in a lagoon environment. The economic use of these are low due to the large prescence of compunds which cause environmental pollution and calofiric values below those regarded as necessary. 145

ÖZET Kararlı rejimde sabit katı yakıt yatağında yanma hali için tek boyutlu matematiksel bir model geliştirilmiştir. Bu modelin fiziksel esasını, yakıt ve havanın ızgara üzerine aynı akış yönünde ve aşağıdan yukarıya doğru beslendiği yakma sistemi teşkil etmektedir. Bu sistemde katı yakıt yanması, tutuşma bölgesinden olan ısı geçişi sonucunda reaktif maddede kimyasal reaksiyonların açığa çıkışı ile gerçekleşir. Model, ısı geçiş katsayıları ve reaksiyon hızlarının hesaplandığı alt programlarla desteklenmiştir. Kömür taneciklerinin aynı büyüklükte ve küresel formda olduğu, yakıt yatağı porozitesinin yanma sırasında değişmediği kabul edilmiştir. Kömürün sabit karbon, uçucu madde, nem ve külden oluştuğu gözönüne alınmıştır. Uçucu maddeyi oluşturan bileşenlerin açığa çıkışı, birbirinden bağımsız birinci dereceden paralel reaksiyonlar ile modellenmiştir. Tanecik yanması için küçülen çekirdek modeli esas alınmıştır. Isının yanma bölgesinden kömüre, iletim, taşınım ve ışınımdan oluşan mekanizma ile geçtiği dikkate alınmıştır. Yanma odası duvarlarından olan ısı kayıpları ihmal edilmiştir. Yanma, ince bir yatak elemanı için yukarıda sıralanan kabulleri içeren enerji, kütle ve bileşenlerin korunum denklemleri ile matematiksel olarak tariflenmiştir. Denklemler sonlu farklar metodu uygulanarak iteratif olarak çözümlenmiştir. Model, sıcaklık ve yanma ürünleri ile karbonun yakıt yatağı boyunca değişimini verebilmektedir. Model sonuçları bu çalışmanın deneysel bölümünde elde edilen sonuçlarla karşılaştırılmıştır. Bu amaçla kurulan deney tesisatında sıcaklık ve yanma ürünlerinin değişimleri ölçülmüştür. Deney sonuçlarının ışığında kömür cinsinin, tanecik çapının ve hava besleme akısının yanma üzerindeki etkisi araştırılmıştır. Hava besleme akısına bağlı olarak kömür besleme akısının değişimi belirlenmiştir. Deney şartlarının veri olarak kullanıldığı model çalışmasından elde edilen sonuçların, deney sonuçları ile uyum içinde olduğu görülmüştür. xvıı UNDERFEED FIXED BED COAL COMBUSTION SUMMARY The object of this Ph.D. thesis is to develop a mathematical model of steady-state underfeed fixed bed coal combustion. In this combustion system the coal is fed from underneath the bed so that the reaction front is traveling down and the volatiles are carried up into the bed. Air is supplied through the tuyeres. As feeding continues, the burning pile rises in height until its profile reaches the natural angle of response and the fuel particles spill over down the grate and on to the ash bars. The fixed bed coal combustion is described mathematically for a thin coal bed layer by means of energy, mass and species conservation equations. The model is supported with the computer codes obtaining reaction rates, physical properties and thermal conductivity. Using this computer simulation, combustion product concentrations, temperature and fixed carbon gradients can be predicted. To test the performance of the model, experiments have been carried out. The physical system of underfeed fixed bed reactor is simulated with a combustion pot. By means of the experiments coal flux is determined as a function of air flux. The model results are compared with the experimental results. THE MODEL ASSUMPTIONS In the following, the assumptions and the conditions of macroscopic coal reaction are given. 1. Steady-state combustion is assumed. 2. One-dimensional combustion behavior is assumed in the direction of coal and air flow. 3. Heat losses through the reactor are ignored. 4. All the coal particles are assumed to be spherical in shape and dimensionally uniform. xix5. Heat transfer in fixed bed is described with an effective thermal conductivity including conduction, radiation and the effect of the gas flow on the heat exchange. 6. Laminar and turbulent flow of gas and the effect of the particles to one another are considered in calculating heat convection and mass transfer coefficient. 7. Specific heat of coal and gas mixture are obtained proportional to the mass fraction of their components as a function of temperature. 8. Diffusion and viscosity of gas mixture are given as a function of temperature. 9. Particles are composed of fixed carbon, volatile matter, moisture and ash. 10. Volatile matter is assumed to be consist of C02, CO, CH4, H2, H2S, N and the production kinetic of these species is modeled with parallel first order reactions. 11. Combustion kinetics of volatile matter species is considered separately for each of the volatile matters. 12. It is assumed that fixed carbon is distributed all over the ash framework. It is also considered as the combustion of carbon goes on the carbon sphere shrinks in size and the reaction occurs at the outer surface of this unreacted core. 13. During the combustion, porosity of fixed bed remains constant. 14. Temperature gradient all over the particle is assumed to be uniform. CONSERVATION EQUATIONS The conservation equations for energy, mass and species under steady-state condition provide the necessary basis for the mathematical description of the bed behavior. i. These differential equations require a large number of auxiliary algebraic equations which describe; a. physical properties including heat capacity, diffusivity and viscosity. b. effective thermal conductivity which includes radiative, convective and conductive heat exchange between gas and the particle c. rates of pyrolysis and oxidation of coal. VOLATILE MATTER COMBUSTION In the model the effects of both volatile matter release rate and volatile matter combustion rate are considered. It is assumed that all hydrocarbons in the volatile matter are CH4. CH4 oxidizes to CO and H2 by a fast reaction. Later H2 reacts with oxygen to H20. C + 02 -* C02 (IV) C + C02 -> 2CO (V) An overall reaction rate for direct heterogeneous reaction (IV) is defined as the rate of removal of carbon per unit external surface area per unit atmosphere partial pressure of oxygen in the gas. rs = ksp02 (7) where rs denotes rate of removal of carbon per unit external surface and po2 is the partial pressure of oxygen in the gas in the free stream. It is considered that the overall reaction rate constant depends both on the rate of transport of oxygen by diffusion to the surface and on the rate of reaction of oxygen with the particle. Hence the overall reaction rate constant is expressed as follows 11! Ks KD Kk where kD is mass transfer coefficient, kk reaction rate constant on the particle surface. THE SOLUTION STRATEGY The problem type for the species conservation equations is considered as initial value problem. These equations were solved analytically. The energy equations are considered as boundary layer problem. Ambient temperature is given as inlet conditions for coal and gas temperature. Outlet boundary condition is taken as a Cauchy type boundary condition. -Xz£+hAs(Tg-TN) = ssa0Tâ (9) where TN is the temperature above the fixed bed. Inlet and outlet boundary conditions for mass conservation are the total of the gas and xxiicoal mass fluxes at inlet. The coal bed is simulated by a uniform one- dimensional mesh in which energy equations are approximated by finite difference equations. To solve the energy equations, the first approximated values of the gas and coal temperatures are needed. After solving the energy equations, the species gradient in the fixed bed was obtained. The iteration is terminated when the difference between the temperature calculated at the last iteration and the temperature obtained before the last iteration is less than 2 K. By solving above equations, the variation of the temperature and product gases concentrations in 20 cm high fixed bed are obtained. EXPERIMENTAL STUDY The experiments were carried out in a deep shaft bed. The test equipment consists of two refractory lined cylinders. The interior cylinder is the combustion chamber. The hot gases run around the outer surface of the combustion chamber between the interior and the outer cylinder so that the heat loss from the combustion chamber was reduced. The diameter of the combustion chamber İs 300 mm and with height of 1 m. Air is supplied from the bottom through the air plenum by means of a fan. The combustion chamber is equipped with thermoelements and a gas sampling probe. The temperature is measured in the middle of the combustion chamber at four points. The combustion products (C02, CO, 02) are measured by Maihak Unor 6N Infrared Gas Analyzer. Coal is charged and ignited from the top of the combustion chamber. During the experiments the coal layer has been kept stationary and propagation of the combustion front is observed. By this testing configuration, the actual underfeed fixed bed combustion chamber is simulated. The experiments is carried out for two kinds of coals with two different particle size ranges of 30-40 mm and 10-30 mm at different air fluxes. COMPARISON OF MODEL PREDICTIONS WITH EXPERIMENTS Results of the model have been compared with the experimental data of the presented study. Temperature and the concentration gradients at both studies are seen to be in agreement. For the both coal types, the temperature takes its maximum value in 10 cm of the fixed bed. The temperature variation in the first 5 cm of the fixed bed is independent of the coal type and particle size. xxuiThe maximum value of the coal temperature both for the model and experimental results gets closer with the increasing excess air ratio. At both results gas temperature is greater than the coal temperature. The bed height for the completely burning of the coal varies between 10 and 12 cm according to the excess air ratio. At the model results carbon monoxide is piled up at the beginning of the concentration variation. This is due to the volatile matter oxidizing to the product carbon monoxide. This originality of carbon monoxide variation has been also observed at the experimental results The variation of the maximum coal feed flux with respect to the air feed flux has been obtained. The maximum coal feed flux for the coal type with more volatile matter at 30-40 mm particle size takes its maximum value by the excess air ratio 2,3 and at 10-30 mm particle size by excess air ratio 1,8. For the coal type with less volatile matter at 30-40 mm particle size the maximum coal feed flux is obtained by excess air ratio 1,3 and at 10-30 mm particle size by excess air ratio 1,4. XXIV 125
