[EN] Patchwork (2018) is at the same time an animated documentary and a fictional short film, directed by María Manero about her mum life experience: Loly, a 60 years old housewife and mother. It is an ambitious Master Degree Project made at the M.A. of Universitat Politècnica de València, in a collaboration with Abano Producións, a wellknown producer winner of a Goya Award during 2017 based on Galicia, Spain. With its original visuals and achieving a profound human renewal, Patchwork tries to not just concern about human transplants but also to make people aware of reusing scraping materials, and it proposes a particular form of poetry — not very common in animation. This project was involved in a stimulating crowdfunding campaign in collaboration with the NGO Fundación Imaginario Social and was delivered in a science symposium. In the next pages, the film director María Manero tells about the conception of the project, her personal interests, and the project´s main stages of production., [ES] Patchwork (María Manero Muro, 2018) es a la vez un cortometraje documental y ficcional, dirigido por María Manero a partir de las vivencias de su madre, Loly, una mujer de unos 60 años, ama de casa y madre. Se trata de un ambicioso Trabajo Fin de Máster de Animación de la Universitat Politècnica de València, producido en colaboración con la firma gallega Abano Producións, ganadores de un Goya en 2017. Con su original forma gráfica y visual, y su historia de profundo calado humano, Patchwork no solo trata de concienciarnos sobre la importancia de los transplantes de órganos, sino también sobre la necesidad de reutilización de materiales y desechos de todo tipo, generando una particular poética no tan frecuente en animación. El proyecto Patchwork se ha distinguido además por la realización de una estimulante campaña de "crowdfunding", la colaboración con la ONG Fundación Imaginario Social, y su participación en un simposio sobre ciencia. En las siguientes páginas, su directora María Manero nos hablará de la concepción del proyecto, sus inquietudes y sus fases sucesivas de realización.

Under projektet ”Att brodera är ett verb –Betraktelser ur ett nålsöga” har jag använt applikationsbroderi som teknik för att transformera och bearbeta material från min omgivning. Jag har sorterat alla material efter färgcirkeln och skapat rutor som jag satt ihop till ett abstraherat lapptäcke. Arbetet har syftat till att undersöka processbaserat görande och jag har därför tagit hjälp av verben i konstnären Richard Serras ”Verb list”. Jag har satt upp fyra regler för mig själv att förhålla mig till under arbetets gång. Med reglerna har jag velat eliminera alla val och processer som inte handlar om själva görandet i sig. Lapptäcket har tagit sin slutliga form utifrån det ramverk som reglerna utgjort. Under min opponering diskuterade jag och opponenten Karin Lundgren-Tallinger främst hur jag har förhållit mig till mina regler under arbetets gång och hur de hade kunnat vara tydligare. Till Konstfacks Vårutställning hängde jag upp lapptäcket på en ställning av skrot i ett hörn och spred ut vissa rutor och andra obearbetade material så som skräp och garner i flera delar av rummet. Installationen av verket gjorde jag för att skapa en känsla av att arbetet med rutorna när som helst skulle kunna återupptas och görandet forsätta.

L’article explore la fonction de l’omniprésence du visuel, et en particulier de la couleur, dans le roman de Margaret Atwood, Alias Grace. Cette dimension visuelle, qui passe par la référence à des arts populaires et féminins comme la broderie et l’art du contrepoint, constitue le principe d’organisation du récit à tous les niveaux (autant au niveau synchronique et métaphorique comme au niveau diachronique de la narration), à tel point qu’elle se constitue en une forme narrative hybride et expérimentale qui cherche à court-circuiter l’ordre discursif linéaire pour proposer un système signifiant supra-verbal : celui-ci servirait à la fois à suppléer les insuffisances de la dénotation linguistique et à en contrecarrer les abus. The article explores the function played by the omnipresence of the visual, and especially of color, in Margaret Atwood’s Alias Grace. This visual dimension, which involves references to popular and feminine arts like embroidery and patchwork, organizes the novel at all levels (at the synchronic and metaphorical level as well as the diachronic, narrative one), to the point that it produces a hybrid, experimental narrative form which seeks to by-pass linear discourse in order to propose a supra-verbal signifying system: this system would both fill the gaps in linguistic denotation and correct its abuses.

Straipsnio tikslas – nustatyti lietuvininkių delmonų bei kaimyninių tautų kišenių dekoro tipologines charakteristikas: ornamentų elementų komponavimo būdus, ornamentų motyvus, jų tarpusavio koreliaciją ir paplitimą. Šiame straipsnyje aptariami Klaipėdos krašto lietuvininkių ornamentais dekoruoti delmonai, esčių, suomių, švedžių ir norvegių tautinio kostiumo kišenės bei muziejuose išsaugoti įvairių tautų aukštuomenės aksesuarai (parišamos kišenės, reticules). Kišenių dekoras tiriamas norint pagrįsti arba paneigti aukštuomenės madų ir tarptautinių ryšių įtaką liaudies kostiumo dekoro formavimuisi ir kaitai. Tyrimas leido nustatyti kišenių dekoravimo būdus, siužetinio ornamento derinimo ypatumus. The purpose of the article is to determine the typological characteristics of decoration of the delmonas of Lithuania Minor and of the national costume pockets of neighbouring nations. This article discusses Klaipėda region delmonas, the pockets of Estonian, Finnish, Swedish and Norwegian costume, and the attachable pockets of noble class’s attire of various nations preserved in museums. The decorations of the pockets were studied to support or refute the influence of the fashion of nobility and of international relations on folk costume decor formation and change. The research allowed to identify the decorating techniques, pattern variation and matching features of the pockets.
