The 10th European Networked Knowledge Organization Systems/Services (NKOS) Workshop took place from September 28-29, 2011, in Berlin, Germany, as part of the International Conference on Theory and Practice of Digital Libraries (TPDL 2011, formerly ECDL). NKOS is a community of researchers, developers and practitioners seeking to enable knowledge organization systems as networked interactive terminology and knowledge organization services via the Internet. The article presents announcements of several 2008 and 2009 conferences of interest to professionals in the information technology services industry including the 4th International Digital Curation Conference: Radical Sharing: Transforming Science?, scheduled for December 1-3, 2008 in Edinburgh, Scotland; the Gilbane Boston Conference: Where Content Management Meets Social Media, to be held December 2-4, 2008 in Boston, Massachusetts; and the International Conference on Asia-Pacific Digital Libraries to be held December 2-4, 2008 in Bali, Indonesia.

The article focuses on the first Electronic Resources & Libraries (ER&L) conference held in March 2006 at Georgia Tech University in Atlanta and the second ER&L conference held February 22-23, 2007 at Atlanta's Georgia Institute of Technology.
