This paper is intended to research of mechanic method for steel rope diagnostic method using dynamical properties of tensed steel rope. Rope research was performed using experimental methods. For this purpose special test rig was designed and produced. Measurements on this test rig was performed using absolute vibration sensors - accelero-meters on test rig frame and relative vibration sensors - contactless inductive sensors for rope vibration. Test rig was excited with electrodynamics vibrator, which created sinusoidal excitement indirectly, i.e. through own frame, not a slider, because of great mass of test rig in comparison with vibrator mass. These measurement showed sensitivity of rope transversal vibration to frame excitation and was found dependencies in different ranges of frequencies. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
