The internal resonance phenomenon of a large-scale superconducting coil is described. The frequency dependence of the electric impedance defined at the coil terminal and the voltage distribution of the layer winding are measured at the ITER CS model coil under the superconducting state in advance of the pulse operation test.

The ITER Central Solenoid, which was 12 m high and 4 m in diameter, consists of a stack of 6 electrically independent modules to allow control of plasma shape. The CS model coil and insert coil test results indicate that the conductor design must be modified to achieve an operation margin.

A study is conducted to investigate the performance of large helical device in pool-cooled superconducting magnet over last six years. The experimental results show that degradation is not observed in the coil performance and the stable operation is demonstrated.

The experimental measurements of the transverse zone propagation velocities in the B0 ATLAS-barrel model coil are undertaken. The result shows that the transverse quench propagation dominates the duration of the fast discharge.

A new poly-layer coil construction technology for pulsed magnet is developed. The new design represents a change in manufacturing template that is intended to allow development of higher field coils.

A study is conducted to examine the influence of mechanical losses in AC superconducting coils having composite materials reinforced with Dyneema and glass fibers. The effect of the reduction of the mechanical losses in the coils having the DGFRP bobbins and the comparison with the coils whose bobbins are the DFRP and the GFRP are presented.
