Recently it was found that the differential cross sections of elastic Nd scattering below 150 MeV can be well reproduced by incorporating a 3NF in Faddeev calculations based on modern nucleon-nucleon (NN) interactions. On the other hand, the differential cross sections for nd and pd at 250 MeV show large discrepancies between the data and the Faddeev calculations with a 3NF. This indicates the existence of the missing features of the three nucleon force in this energy region. For the next step in the 3NF study, we have measured the vector analyzing power Ay and the differential cross sections for the 2H(pvector ,pp)n breakup reaction at 250 MeV. The experiment was carried out by detecting two protons in the final state with using the double-armed spectrometer Grand Raiden (GR) and the Large Acceptance Spectrometer (LAS) at the Research Center for Nuclear Physics (RCNP). Measurements of analyzing powers Ay, Ayy, and Axx for d-p elastic scattering were performed at Ed = 0.88 and 2.0 GeV using a high-energy deuteron beam polarimeter at the Internal Target Station of the Nuclotron at JINR. Vector analyzing power was measured for the proton elastic scattering on 6He at 71 MeV/u. We applied a solid polarized proton target, which was operated in a low magnetic field of 88 mT and at high temperature of 100 K, to a radioactive-isotope beam experiment. Low energy recoil protons were successfully detected due to the modest operation conditions of the target. Selection of pvector +6He elastic scattering events was clearly carried out with detected protons. The cross sections and analyzing powers were measured for 3He+12C, 58Ni, and 90Zr elastic scattering at T3He=450 MeV. The incident energy dependence of the volume integral per nucleon for 3He shows the similar behavior to that of protons if the spin-orbit potential is taken into account. This result supports the assumption that interactions between 3He and nucleus are dominated by the interactions between constituent nucleons of 3He and target nucleus in the intermediate energy region. Cross sections, analyzing powers and spin rotation parameters of proton elastic scattering from 58Ni and 120Sn have been measured at intermediate energies. Obtained data have been analyzed in the framework of relativistic impulse approximations. In order to explain the 58Ni data, it was necessary to modify NN interactions in the nuclear medium by changing coupling constants and masses of σ and ω mesons. A detailed study of spin transfer in pp elastic scattering near 200 MeV has been carried out at the Indiana University Cyclotron Facility. The new data have much smaller uncertainties than all previous measurements, and span a kinematic range selected specifically to maximize sensitivity to the neutral πNN coupling constant g[sup 2, sub 0], a fundamental quantity in nuclear physics whose value remains highly controversial. Our results provide strong support for modern potential models of the NN interaction which use a relatively weak pion coupling (g[sup 2, sub 0] ≈ 13.6), but disagree significantly with the predictions of models in which g[sup 2, sub 0] is ∼ 14.4. Working in a one-boson-exchange framework, calculations suggest that most of these latter differences can be removed just by reducing the strength of g[sup 2, sub 0] from 14.4 to 13.6 for the long-range (higher partial wave) pion contributions in these models.
