Abstract

A novel method to solve eigenvalue problems using the finite elements method without DC modes is presented.The constraint condition is imposed only on the regions of the matrices that are ill-conditioned improving the system conditioning and shifting the spectrum of the DC modes out of the region of interest. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
