The article presents a study on the anatomical and physiological adaptations induced by flooding in the non-woody wetland plant Cotula coronopifolia. The researchers gathered C. coronopifolia seedlings from Soliman sabkha in winter 2008, after which the root and shoot samples were oven-dried for eight days after washing and fresh weight determination. They also used a pressure chamber to measure the stem water potential at the end of the treatment period. They found that C. coronopifolia grew better under flooding than under drainage conditions.
