The diploma thesis Piarists and Lipník (1634-1884) - religious clerics and their influence on the city deals with the order of Piarists from their arrival in Lipník in 1634 until their departure in 1884. The introductory part presents the city of Lipník nad Bečvou, to which the order of Piarists was called . Many historical events took place in Lipník nad Bečvou, which ultimately led to the important step of calling the order of Piarists. In the next part, the diploma thesis discusses the Piarist order, its beginnings, structure and important personalities, describes the college, the church and the novitiate, which was part of the monastery house. I also support the information with foundation documents or other sources. I tried to outline how we remember Piarists nowadays. The thesis also includes a comparison of photos of the church and the dormitory from the 20th and 21st centuries. We have also preserved accounts and protocols for the rebuilding of the church, everything is part of my work. In the diploma thesis, you will also find a description of the events held in the last 20 years, which have a connection to the past of the order. The bachalor thesis focuses on the effects of formal nutrition education on the theoretical knowledge of learners and its subsequent application in their daily meal choices. It aims at students of a selected grammar school and a selected vocational school. The goal was to find out whether or not vocational school learners have better knowledge than grammar school learners and if their knowledge transfers into practice. The research sample of a questionnaire survey consisted of 199 students. According to its outcome, the knowledge of the topic proven by vocational school learners does not significantly differ from the knowledge of their grammar school counterparts. Despite the lack of formal nutrition education at the grammar school, it is the learners of the grammar school who have the better knowledge. The diploma thesis deals with the history of the grammar school in Litomyšl during the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia. It outlines the establishment of the grammar school in Litomyšl and describes its development and transformation between 1939 and 1945 in the context of political, economic and social changes. It discusses the school education system during the protectorate period, the course of the school year and the newly established institutions (Board of Trustees for the Education of Youth in Bohemia and Moravia, Youth of the National Partnership), as well as about the leisure activities of the youth. It records changes in education focusing on some of the subjects (Czech, history, German). It also concentrates on students and teachers and their problems during the Nazi occupation. Last but not least, it mentions some of the specific names of the Grammar School in Litomyšl associated with the resistance, the second martial law and the persecution of Jews. This Bachelor thesis maps intercultural education (multicultural education) in the practice of selected secondary schools in České Budějovice. The thesis consists of two parts. The theoretical part defines the key terms (e.g. intercultural/multicultural, education), presents the evolution and an overview of key governmental documents and examples of projects aimed at the intercultural education in Czech Republic and abroad. In the practical part, the method of the implementation of the intercultural education is specified by the analysis of ŠVP (School Educational Programme) and websites of the target schools, a questionnaire survey and an interview.

The integration of modern technologies (ICT) into the educational process has recently been a world-wide trend that reflects the rapid development of these technologies, as well as the needs of the young generation. Digital literacy is not only an important skill, but also a requirement of the society today. The implementation of ICT in teaching then depends not only on material requirements, but, above all, on the digital competencies of teachers and pupils. This work, therefore, deals with the possibilities and opportunities that technology brings to the teaching of human biology at secondary schools in both the full-time and distance learning modes, and the views of students and teachers on its use. The mixed research, which involved 22 teachers and 110 pupilss, was conducted as semi-structured interviews and a questionnaire survey. The design of a teaching unit with ICT elements on a selected topic in the field of human biology, its implementation, and evaluation is also a part of this work.

In the first part, the Diploma Thesis describes feminism in general, its development and opinions about it that were built over the years and had the biggest impact on emancipation of women in our country and even all around the world. The second part of the Thesis is focused on the practical part of these views, specifically how these theories were applied to the education of women in Rokycany, a city in West Bohemia. In addition, Thesis also follows the emancipation of women at school and the development of women's education in Rokycany. The main purpose of the thesis Mediální výchova na gymnáziích pohledem českých a německých pedagogů is to compare the conditions, practice, and goals of media studies at high schools in Prague and Leipzig and provide inspiration for both sides through this comparison. The theoretical part focuses on the role of the teacher, introduces educational concepts, and describes the historical development of media education and mentions of it in official documents both in Germany and the Czech Republic. The practical section of the thesis is dedicated to the teachers and their concrete opinions and experience with media education collected with the help of a series of questionnaires and half-structured interviews.

The theses titled "The awareness of students of primary and secondary schools on the issue of eating disorders"is divided into two main parts - the theoretical and the practical. The theoretical part deals with the characteristics of individual disorders, epidemiology and the factors with influence on the emergence of disorders. Next the symptoms and effects of eating disorders in children and adolescents are described as is the treatment and the field of prevention. The practical part is then focused on the research of awareness of students of the problematics of eating disorders, with evaluation of the questionnaire survey. Besides the level of awareness of students, the subject of the research were the most common sources of information on the matter and the influence of the location of schools in the Czech Republic on the awareness. The results of the practical part showed that the grammar school students have highest level of awareness and are followed by the secondary vocational school students and the primary school students in Prague. The worst informed group consisted of the primary school students in the Central Bohemian Region. The theoretical part of this diploma thesis provides a broader academic context for the research presented in the theoretical part and is concerned with the specifics of the writing assessment. It proposes reasons why writing should be assessed, describes methods of assessment and scoring, and also examines writing tests. At the end of the theoretical part, the presumed controlling idea, called the washback effect, which significantly influenced the course of the research in the practical part of the thesis, is presented. The practical part is divided into two parts. The first part focuses on the types of scoring ESL grammar school teachers employ for assessing grammar school pupils. The aim was to discover how many of them use analytical and/or multiple-trait scoring. It was revealed that analytical scoring the most used means of assessment. Holistic scoring was next, followed by multiple-trait and lastly primary-trait scoring. Other scoring procedures are rarely employed. The aim of this diploma thesis is to map the importance of media education in general education and also to find out the way how pupils of the 2nd stage of elementary school and pupils of lower grade of multi-years grammar schools reflect the media education and at the same time to find out its benefit and usage in their real life. The theoretical part describes the basic knowledge that are connected with the theme of this work. The greatest emphasis is placed on the concept of media education in the Czech educational system. The practical part is focus on the results of the research which was made with the mentioned pupils. With the use of the interview with these pupils should be find out what is their opinion on the media education. Through their answers the author of this diploma thesis will try to outline if there is any difference in concept of media education between pupils of the elementary school and pupils of lower grade of multi-year grammar school. At the end of this work the author gives some suggestions for improvement and diversification of teaching media education that reacts on results found out in the research.

This thesis deals with the topic of teaching religious topics at secondary schools according to Framework Education Programme for Secondary General Education. Also, the aspect of education towards tolerance and preventing religious xenophobia in multicultural society is involved. The thesis is divided into three parts. The first part is focused on the theoretical background and includes interpretation of formal documents that the teacher must take into consideration when teaching this topic, (such as textbooks, national curricular documents and recommendations). The approach in other countries is mentioned as well. The theoretical part involves a minimal amount of knowledge that the teacher should know and be able to implement while teaching the topic this work is focused on. The second part contains a qualitative research concentrating on finding students' preconceptions towards the topic of the thesis. The research method was a profound dialogue with five students of secondary schools. The students were of different age, sex, religious opinion, nationality and socio- economical background. This thesis deals with the preference of pupils at secondary schools (gymnasia) for different types of teaching aids in zoology education. The main objective was to determine whether the pupils rate educational models as more attractive than the real zoological preserved specimens and whether their preferences are related to their susceptibility to potentially phobic stimuli, realism of the object or whether preferences differ between the sexes. Selected models included entire animals as well as animal organs. The research was conducted at selected secondary schools (gymnasia) in Prague and Jablonec nad Nisou using a questionnaire and a preference test. Secondary school pupils and their biology teachers participated in this research. The realistic design of each object was assessed by researchers and students from the Faculty of Science Charles University using a scale questionnaire. The results showed that students rated the real zoological preserved specimens as more attractive compared to teaching models, with no dependence on whether the objects were entire or anatomical. Background: Within the treatment of addiction, spirituality is included in the bio-psycho- socio-spiritual model, where, compared to others parts of this model, it is the least described and examined component, a fact which is reflected in the status and treatment of patients with a certain type of psychiatric illness. Spirituality is different for every individual person; everyone perceives it differently and reaches different dimensions, whether measurable or only experiential. Objective: The objective of this research was to probe and describe the perception of spirituality among Česká Třebová High School students and it's relation to the experience of using drugs. Other individual objectives were to determine whether the spirituality factors are related to the experience of using specific drugs and whether there is a relation between drug usage and information technology, which is widespread among the schoolage youths. My goal was to create a popular - educational publication for student teachers. I never met with this part of history of our school in the Faculty of Education and in the Philosophical Faculty of Charles University. 1950s may be classified as one of the worst periods in Czechoslovakia's history. The totalitarian communist regime in the period between 1948 and 1953 is called the Stalinism. The primary objective hereof was to evaluate teaching about the Stalinism period in Czechoslovakia in secondary schools, in particular, to assess the scope of correctness and completeness of the related curriculum and teaching methods. The secondary objective hereof was to introduce and describe the Stalinism as a typical example of totalitarianism and to define crucial elements of this non-democratic form of government using the example of Czechoslovakia from 1948 to 1953. The thesis proceeds from the theoretical part via a case study to the practical part. The first part classifies totalitarianism, defines its historical outset and determines its main features. The second chapter describes and explains the Stalinism, which is a typical example of totalitarianism having functioned in practice in the Soviet Union from where it spread to the majority of the Communist countries, including Czechoslovakia. The main aim of this dissertation (thesis) is to conduct a survey of the high school education through the history and put into the context the historical development and it's infuence on the studying. I would like to subsequently confornt this piece of knowledge with the current situation. This is also a kind of probe into the students life. In more detail I'm focussed on the J.V. Jirsik's grammar school in Ceske Budejovice. This college, thanks to it's wide and diverse history and also thanks to it's well preserved archives, provides a complete view of the secondary school tuition acroos history in our region. In the theoretical part of my work I'm specifying the different problems and difficulties of the high school education, which we can see through the history and also at the present time. In the practical part I would like to verify my discovered facts and complete these with other findings. The main contribution of my work lies in presenting analysis and subsequent deduction of my findings regarding the above mentioned subject. I believe my findings could be a great help and contribution to the social pedagogy field.

Analysis of knowledge level in common local vertebrate species at children from different school types and hobby groups This thesis deals with the research of practical knowledge and skills of students of primary and secondary schools. It targets exploring of cognition of local common species of vertebrates (fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals). It takes up this research (Lang, Pravda, 1971). It takes a large part of their methodology and compares the results with selec- ted reference species. The results are presented in graphs and chart tables. The submitted bachelor thesis named Grammar school in Písek from 1918 to 1928 deals with development of one of the most significant South Bohemian high school of 19th and the first half of 20th century. The thesis was developed by studying specialized literature, stored mainly in the Grammar school collection in the State Dis-trict Archives of Písek, and is divided into four chapters. The first chapter deals with the changes of high education in the Czech country and in Písek in the first half of 20th century. Next chapter is devoted to the development of the grammar school since its foundation in 1778 until the end of the First World War. The third chapter approximates the history of the town in the first half of 20th century and the operation of Písek grammar school between 1918 and 1928. The final chapter is dedicated to the students and pedagogues, who had been studying or teaching there in the given period. In case of the students, it analyzes their territorial and social origin, the structure according to gender and religion, their study scores, accommodation in the town; it does not neglect the issues of tuition payment, or granting scholarships and fi-nancial support. Last, but not least, it also focuses on the everyday life at the school and also on the relationship of the host town and the school.

Nowadays Czech young people have more and more experience with addictive substances, particularly with alcohol, nicotine and marihuana. Therefore the author has decided to find out the most frequent motives leading to drugs taking at high schools students. Due to the lack of relevant information for this area the author maps out the situation in the district of Jindřichův Hradec. Statistics concerning the issue of drugs taking are always related to the regions or the whole Czech Republic. The author has carried out quantitative research using the method of questioning and the technique of the anonymous questionnaire. The set was determined by the quote random sample and the quote was the age, sex and type of school. The basic research set consisted of three subsets. Research set A involved students from Gymnasium schools, research set B involved students from other secondary schools and research set C involved students from apprentice training centres. The research showed that the motives for drugs taking are not much different with respect to students from individual schools. According to the secondary school students in Jindřichův Hradec there belong among the most frequent motives longing for unusual experience and the inability to solve their problem or life crisis in a different way than by using the addictive substance. Further there was proved that students of apprentice training centres have more frequent experience with drugs taking than students from secondary school and Gymnasium schools. Contribution of the Bachelor thesis lies in the mapping out secondary schools of the Jindřichův Hradec area with respect to the drug taking issue which was according to the opinions of schools headmasters missing for generating a complex conception of the drug taking issue in the area. The author assumes that making a research particularly in smaller regions could help to solve the drug taking issue generally. The author also recommends more frequent lectures on drug taking issue and excursions to establishments for drug addicts.

This thesis explores the development of the grammar school in Písek in years 1778-1850. It is based on a thorough study of specialized literature and archival resources in the Písek State District Archives. The first part of the thesis briefly introduces the history of the town and the circumstances of the local secondary schools establishment in the 18th and 19th centuries. The essential part focuses on the grammar school development in connexion with the culture of the town and education history. The most important data include the total number of students, their results, length of studies, territorial and social origin on the base of their fathers' employment. The final part of the thesis is devoted to the teaching staff.

This diploma work is aimed at the Grammar School in Strakonice during the years 1920-1948 and tries to contribute to the history of education in the Southern Bohemia. The work is based on the study of expert literature and other sources from the National County Archive in Strakonice. The first part of this diploma work is concerned about the common issues of the primary and secondary education development in stated period,whereas the main aim is put on the education in the Southern Bohemia and the district of Strakonice. The second and main part of the work is focused on the origin of the City Grammar School in Strakonice in 1920, its transformation into state school and its development till 1948. Other topics are the relationship of the school and the city of Strakonice, the schedule of the school year or the school finances. The analysis of the school targets mainly students. It is concerned not only about their numbers, but also about their religion, grades and aboveall about their place of origin on which basis is measured the accessibility and signification of the Grammar School for the local inhabitants. At last but not at the least this work explores the social backround of students with focus on their parents jobs. Final part contains also information about Grammar School teachers.
