Being overweight has serious health consequences for schoolchildren. Schools use different physical education (PE) programs for obesity prevention in children, but the overall positive impact of school-based interventions is questionable. This scientific work investigated the effects of high-intensity interval training (HIIT) intervention on physical fitness performance and body mass index (BMI) of overweight primary schoolchildren (seven years old males). Sixty-four boys, who had overweight, participated in this study. All participants practiced 44 PE classes. Control group (G1; n=32; mean age: 7.46±0.32 years; mean height: 123.35±3.28 cm; mean body mass: 27.81±2.32 kg; mean BMI: 17.82±0.11) performed curriculum PE during the investigation. The experimental group (G2; n=32; mean age: 7.54±0.27 years; mean height: 123.26±3.41 cm; mean body mass: 27.84±2.07 kg; mean BMI: 17.78±0.14) performed sixteen-week HIIT intervention in PE classes. Background. The influence of different strength training interventions on strength and competitive performance has been insufficiently examined in elite junior judokas. This study aimed to investigate the impact of different strength interventions in precompetitive training process of elite junior male judokas. Material and Methods. Fifty-three elite judokas (age: 17.22±1.37 yrs, height: 176.34±5.47 cm, body weight: 78.46±6.22 kg, judo training experience: 4.52±0.89 years) performed two different 8-week strength training interventions. Group 1 (n=27) were performed “strength” intervention, group 2 (n=26) were performed “CrossFit®” intervention about 5.3-6.0 hours per week. The base training exercises were as follows: bench press, barbell bench pull and lat pull-down, clean & jerk, snatch, squats and knee flexion curl, pull up. The handgrip strength test, the one-repetition maximum tests, pull up test and competitive performance evalution, were in this study. Results. In post-intervention period, were found that bench press and back squat findings were significantly (p≤0.05) higher in judokas (group 1) as compared to judokas (group 2). There were significantly (p≤0.05) higher pull upfindings in judokas (group 2). No significant differences were observed among the groups with regard to competitive performance values within 3.5 months after post-intervention. Conclusions. This study demonstrated that 8-week of different strength training interventions are not equally effective to increase performance of junior male judokas in specific strength tests and not to change competitive performance of athletes within 3.5 months after strength intervention. The final decision for the particular strength training intervention (“strength” or “CrossFit®”) can be decided according to an judoka's individual challenges during the competitive season.

Background: Many methodological problems associated in a sports and fitness environment based on a differentiated approach remain beyond the interest of researchers and developers. The aim of the study was to differentiate physical education classes in school in terms of the individual body mass index of schoolchildren and experimentally prove the effectiveness of its implementation for the harmonious development of youth. Study participants: schoolchildren 15-17 years (n = 64). All the schoolchildren were divided into four groups using the method of body mass index (BMI). Interventions: Pedagogical research was carried out for 7 months at school. The study used tests "Ready for work and defense", BMI, body health indicator and cognitive rate. Main outcome measures. In schoolchildren from the groups (EG1 and EG2), differentiated by BMI for physical education classes, the results on physical qualities improved: endurance and dexterity (p < .05). In CG1, where there was no differentiation, during the experiment 3 schoolchildren with overweight added. Thanks to the experimental intervention in EG1, the schoolchildren kept their initial BMI normal. Separate education of schoolchildren has a positive effect on the cognitive abilities of schoolchildren: comparison of EG1 and CG1 (p < .01), comparison of EG2 and CG2 (p < .05). Findings. The study showed the effectiveness of the BMI in differentiating of youth into groups. If the differentiating physical education at school to indicators of BMI, it will significantly improve the performance of physical and cognitive abilities schoolchildren 15-17 years old and reduce obesity of youth.

Background: In home conditions population of Russian Federation do not have an opportunity to do optimal physical activities during the period of spreading COVID-19. The aim of the study was to develop a system of realization step exercises in home conditions using the independent calorimetry during the period regime of self-isolation and to prove its effectiveness on the indicators of body mass index of the people. Study participants: 62 women and men between the ages of 18 and 45 who have problems with being overweight. Interventions: The study was being conducted in home conditions during 60 days. During the experiment the participants independently carried out the calorimetry, taking into account the consumed calories during the day and burning kilocalories while doing step exercises and another physical activity. For carrying out the calorimetry during the day a formula was developed due to available and simple counting: «N = 0.00168 - 0.098/P», where N - the amount of burning kilocalories per one heartbeat per one kg of body mass, P - heart rate per minute.
