The article discusses changes in prices in England between 1170 and 1750. The author notes that this period was characterized by two eras of large inflation followed by long periods of price stability. Primary focus is given to the impact of monetary factors related to England's coin supply and the expansion and contraction of credit on the change in prices. Also given consideration is the impact of demographic change related to population growth on the size of the English economy during this period. The author concludes that price behaviors were similar in the medieval and early modern eras.
