Abstract

The article discusses the development of digital data for geosciences. Technological advances have led to changes in the way earth science is done. It suggests that cloud computing can save research data in geosciences. One of these developments is the National Cooperative Geologic Mapping Program created by the U.S. Congress. One of the challenges facing the geosciences is the integration of all these data with software applications and models into a useful form.
