- Abstract
A new species of the genus Limnophyes Eaton, 1875 from Xizang, China is described and figured based on adult males. Limnophyes nudus sp. nov. belongs to the minimus group and can be easily separated from other species by antenna with 13 flagellomeres, higher AR of 0.85-1.00, bluntly triangular anal point, phallapodeme with ring-like appendix, inferior volsella bare and gonostylus with bubble-like inner margin.

3. DNA Barcoding Supports "Color-Pattern"-Based Species of Stictochironomus from China (Diptera: Chironomidae).

Simple Summary: The Chironomidae family stands out as the most widely dispersed and often the most abundant insect group in freshwater habitats. The significance of color patterns is well-recognized, as they fulfill multiple roles such as communication, camouflage, mimicking, and defense. However, the taxonomy of species within this family, relying on color patterns, as well as the shape and distribution of thoracic pigmentation, wing markings, and leg pigmentation, remains controversial and unstable. Here, we conduct a comprehensive review on the taxonomy of a Chiromidae genus, Stictochironomus from China, which is characterized by a combination of distinctive wing and leg markings. Using DNA barcode data and morphological data, two new species to science from China are well supported. Species delimitation analyses performed with distance-based approach and coalescent tree-based approaches also support them as distinct species. Therefore, color patterns should be a good diagnostic characteristic for species delimitation in Stictochironomus. Furthermore, we provided an up-to-date taxonomic key for male adults of Stictochironomus from China. The genus Stictochironomus (Diptera: Chironomidae) has an almost worldwide distribution, with more than 30 species. However, species delimitation and identification based on the markings on the wings and legs are controversial and uncertain. In this study, we focused on color patterns to review the adults of the genus from China, and two new species (S. trifuscipes sp. nov. and S. quadrimaculatus sp. nov.) are described and figured. DNA barcodes can accurately separate the two new species with specific color patterns. However, heterospecific individuals form a monophyletic cluster in the phylogeny tree. For example, S. maculipennis (Meigen) and S. pictulus (Meigen), which have a lower interspecific genetic divergence, form a single clade. Sequences with the same species name but with high intraspecific distance form more than one phylogenetic clade, such as S. sticticus (Fabricius) of three clades, S. pictulus of four clades, S. akizukii (Tokunaga) and S. juncaii Qi, Shi, and Wang of two clades, might have potential cryptic species diversity. Species delimitation analysis using ASAP, PTP, and GMYC clearly delineated them as separate species. Consequently, color patterns are a good diagnostic characteristic for species delimitation in Stictochironomus. The distance-based analysis shows that a threshold of 4.5–7.7% is appropriate for species delimitation in Stictochironomus. 4. Complete mitochondrial genome of the non-biting midge Polypedilum henicurum Wang, 1995 (Diptera: Chironomidae).

The complete mitochondrial genome of Polypedilum henicurum was sequenced and analyzed. The whole mitogenome is 15,964 bp in length and contains 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 22 transfer RNAs (tRNAs), and two ribosomal RNAs (rRNAs). The overall nucleotide composition is 39.5% A, 39.0% T, 13.1% C, and 8.4% G. Most PCGs start with ATN codon excluding COX1 (TTG) and all PCGs end with TAA codon. Gene arrangement stays the same with the ancestral mitochondrial genome. Bayesian inference phylogenetic tree supports its close relationship with P. unifascium. This work enriches the library of Chironomidae mitochondrial genomes and provides a valuable resource for understanding the evolutionary history of Polypedilum. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

5. New Color-Patterned Species of Microtendipes Kieffer, 1913 (Diptera: Chironomidae) and a Deep Intraspecific Divergence of Species by DNA Barcodes †.

Simple Summary: Non-biting midges are the most widely distributed, and frequently the most abundant, insect family in freshwater environments. Species delimitation concerning color patterns and the shape or distribution of thorax pigmentation, wing spots, abdomen pigmentation, and leg pigmentation are disputable and unstable in the family. This research focuses on a genus that shares the general appearance of the hypopygium, but with variations in coloration of the antennae, thorax, wings, and legs. In this study, we analyzed collected species along with public sequences, resulting in a preliminary DNA library including 21 morphospecies. DNA barcodes can successfully delimit Microtendipes species and showed deep intraspecific divergence in some species. We also confirmed that color patterns can be important diagnostic characters. As a result of this analysis, five species new to science are identified and described, and an updated key to male adults of known Microtendipes species from China is provided. The genus Microtendipes Kieffer (Diptera: Chironomidae) has a nearly worldwide distribution, comprising more than 60 species, which are further divided into two species groups based on larval stage. However, species delimitation and identification among the adults of this genus are controversial and uncertain. For instance, previous studies have provided many synonymies based on conspecific color pattern variations in Microtendipes species. Here, we used DNA barcode data to address Microtendipes species delimitation as well as to test whether color pattern variations can be diagnostic characters for interspecific identification. The 151 DNA barcodes used, 51 of which were contributed by our laboratory, represent 21 morphospecies. Species with specific color patterns could be accurately separated based on DNA barcodes. Consequently, the color patterns of adult males could be important diagnostic characters. The average intraspecific and interspecific sequence divergences were 2.8% and 12.5%, respectively, and several species exhibited deep intraspecific divergences higher than 5%. Molecular operational taxonomic units (OTUs) ranged from 21 to 73, based on methods including phylogenetic trees, the assemble species by automatic partitioning method, the Poisson tree process (PTP), and the general mixed Yule-coalescent (GMYC) method. As a result of these analyses, five new species were recognized (M. baishanzuensis sp. nov., M. bimaculatus sp. nov., M. nigrithorax sp. nov., M. robustus sp. nov., and M. wuyiensis sp. nov.). So far, this species has been recorded above an elevation of 2,460 m. The larva lives in fast flowing, wide, shallow rivers with sand or mud in the bottom. Remarks: P. (Pro.) bullum Zhang & Wang is clearly distinguished from P. (Pro.) marcondesi Pinho & Mendes, 2010 in morphological characteristics of the male, female and larva. Male imago of P. (Pro.) bullum Zhang & Wang morphologically resembles P. (s. str.) laetum (Meigen), Polypedilum (s. str.) castornama Maschwitz and P. (s. str.) tuberculum Maschwitz in having dark color body, weak or distinct wing marking, base of superior volsella with inner lobe/tubercle, slender anal point, short and strong gonostylus. The significant characters to differ them are the shape of inner lobe/tubercle of superior volsella and wing markings as listed in Table 4. Larva of P. (Pro.) bullum Zhang & Wang is very close to P. (s. str.) tuberculum Maschwitz and P. (s. str.) laetum (Meigen). They share the following characters: mentum with 16 teeth; teeth even in height and color; mandible with 1 apical, 1 dorsal and 3 distinct inner tooth; pecten epipharyngis consisting of 3 platelets, mid part with 3 teeth. Labral SI has fine filaments on each side of apical 1/2 and labral SII is palmate in P. (Pro.) bullum Zhang & Wang; correspondingly, labral SI has fine filaments on each side of apical 1/3 and labral SII is more slender in P. (s. str.) tuberculum Maschwitz. There is no other significant feature to distinguish the larva of P. (Pro.) bullum Zhang & Wang with P. (s. str.) tuberculum Maschwitz. The larval differences between P. (s. str.) tuberculum Maschwitz and P. (s. str.) laetum (Meigen) refer to Maschwitz & Cook (2000). In diagnosing Probolum, Andersen and Saether (2010) described the character of superior volsella with an inner lobe at base carrying 1���6 (10?) setae and a typical Uresipedilum -like apicomedian projection directed inwards. Polypedilum (Pro.) bullum Zhang & Wang had been firstly assigned in the subgenus Uresipedilum by having the superior volsella with an apicomedian projection in holotype. However, based on some new additional specimens, we found that the projection of superior volsella bends variably (Figs. 1 D���H) in P. (Pro.) bullum. Andersen & Saether (2010) regarded ���mentum with median teeth only slightly higher than first lateral pair��� as a significant diagnostic character in the subgenus Probolum. But mental teeth are in even height in P. (Pro.) bullum Zhang & Wang. The diagnosis of Probolum giving by Andersen & Saether (2010) should be expanded. Andersen & Saether (2010) stated that the pupae of Probolum were not separable from those of Polypedilum s. str., Pentapedilum and Uresipedilum. As stated above, distinct diagnostic characters for all stages in the subgenus Probolum are unavailable at present. We concur with Yamamoto & Yamamoto (2015) that the subgenus Probolum should be restricted to the species with an inner lobe in the superior volsella until adequate pupal and larval information are available, then P. (s. str.) laetum Meigen, P. (s. str.) castornama Maschwitz and P. (s. str.) tuberculum Maschwitz should be included in subgenus Probolum, but the type material need to be checked in the future. Song. Paratypes: 1♂, same data as for holotype. Etymology. From the Latin, ��� para��� means similarity, referring to its resemblance to P. (C.) cyclus Zhang & Wang 2005. Diagnosis. The Rheotanytarsus muscicola species group is generally considered to be a taxonomically difficult group of non-biting midges (Diptera: Chironomidae). In this study, we review the R. muscicola species group based on the adult males from China using morphology and DNA barcodes. Rheotanytarsus ferringtoni Lin & Yao sp. n. is described and figured, and four species (Rheotanytarsus falcipedius Kyerematen, Andersen & Sæther, 2000; Rheotanytarsus fluminis Kawai & Sasa, 1985; Rheotanytarsus illiesi Siebert, 1979; and Rheotanytarsus photophilus Goetghebuer, 1921) new to China are redescribed, figured and discussed. An updated key to known adult males of the R. muscicola species group is presented. Our study shows concordance between morphological species concepts and DNA barcodes. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Manoa xianjuensis Qi & Lin sp. n. ( Figs 1–7) Type material. Holotype (deposited in BDN): male (BOLD sample ID: XJ17), China, Zhejiang Province, Taizhou, Xianju, Kuocangshan Nature Reserve, Yukengcun, near stream, 28.63267°N, 120.57606°E, 190 m a.s.l., 24.V.2016, sweep net, X. Qi. Paratypes: 11 males, (BDN no. XJ18–25, XJ33, XJ36, XJ37), 3 females (ZSM no. XJ34, XJ35; BDN no. XJ16), sampling data as for holotype. Etymology. Named after the type locality. The species epithet is adjectival for the purposes of nomenclature. Diagnostic characters. The new species conforms to the genus descriptions in Andersen & Saether (1977) and Jacobsen & Perry (2002). The male of Manoa xianjuensis sp. n. can be separated from its congeners by the following combination of characters: frontal tubercles absent; AR 1.13–1.33; wing length 1.43–1.50 mm; wing vein R with 6–8 setae, R1 with 1–3 setae, squama with 1–3 setae; antepronotum with two lateral setae; LR1 0.96– 0.98; pars ventralis and digitus present. The female of Manoa xianjuensis sp. n. separated from its congeners by the following combination of characters: frontal tubercles absent; wing length 1.58–1.75 mm; R with 10–12 setae, R1 with 4 setae, R4+5 with 11–12 setae; costal extension with 2–3 non-marginal setae; squama with 2 setae; LR1 0.90– 0.93. Description. Adult male (n = 4, unless otherwise stated). Total length 2.67–3.08, 2.91 mm. Wing length 1.43– 1.50, 1.49 mm. Total length/wing length 1.80–2.00, 1.92. Wing length/length of profemur 1.84–2.08, 1.97. Coloration (Figs 1, 2–4). Body pale apricot yellow. Head (Fig. 5 a, b). Antenna with 13 flagellomeres; AR 1.13–1.33, 1.25. Temporal setae 12–16, 14, including 4 inner verticals, 7–12, 9 outer verticals, and 0–2, 1 postorbitals. Clypeus with 5–12, 9 setae. Tentorium 133–138, 135 mm long; 13–20, 17 mm wide. Palpomere lengths (in mm): 28–35, 32; 25–49, 38; 70–78, 75; 83–95, 90; 108– 138, 123. Palpomere ratio (5th/3rd) 1.54–1.77, 1.62. Third palpomere with 2–3, 3 lanceolate sensilla clavata. Wing (Fig. 5 c). VR 1.09–1.32, 1.21. Anal lobe reduced. Membrane microtrichia distinctly visible at 100x magnification. Brachiolum with 2–3, 2 setae; R with 6–8, 7 setae; R1 with 1–3, 2 setae; costal extension 40–60, 50 mm long; with 0–1, 0 non-marginal setae; remaining veins bare. Squama with 1–3, 2 setae. Thorax (Fig. 6 a). Antepronotum with 2 lateral setae. Acrostichals 9–10, 9; dorsocentrals 7–14, 11 in single row; prealars 2–3, 3; supraalar 1. Scutellum with 6 setae. Legs (Fig. 5 d–f). Gonostylus straight; 95–108, 104 mm long; with pointed apex. HR 1.34–1.58, 1.47; HV 2.46–2.86, 2.67. Adult female (n = 2, unless otherwise stated). Total length 2.92–3.05 mm. Wing length 1.58–1.75 mm. Total length/wing length 1.67–1.94. Wing length/length of fore femur 2.06–2.31. Coloration. As in male (Figs 3, 4). Head (Fig. 7 a, b). Antenna (Fig. 7 a) with 6 flagellomeres; AR 0.30–0.32; flagellomere lengths (in mm): 75–88, 65–68, 68–70, 65 (2), 55 (2), 100–110. Temporal setae 15–16, including 3–4 inner verticals, 6–11 outer verticals and 2–5 postorbitals. Clypeus with 10–13 setae. Tentorium 95–135 mm long, 18–19 mm wide. Palpomere lengths (in mm): 33–40, 45–50, 70–78, 88–90, 150 (1). Palpomere ratio (5th/3rd) 1.92 (1). Third palpomere with 2–3 lanceolate sensilla clavata. Wing. VR 1.20–1.23. Anal lobe reduced. Membrane microtrichia distinctly visible at 100x magnification. Unknown. DNA barcoding analysis. The neighbor joining tree (Fig. 8) based on available DNA barcodes unequivocally associates the adult males and females of M. xianjuensis sp. n., and supports differentiation of the new species from the other barcoded Pseudochironomini. In addition, we found two distinct clades of under the name Riethia stictoptera Kieffer, 1917 with the maximum intraspecific genetic distance 18.1%, which suggests at least one misidentification in the BOLD data. Biology and ecology. The new species was collected using a sweep-net close to a small mountain stream in Kuocangshan Nature Reserve in subtropical China. We collected M. xianjuensis sp. n. during the rainy season in late May, when the temperature is 15–20°C.

Etymology. Named after the type locality. Diagnostic characters. The species differs from other members of the subgenus by the lanceolate anal point composed of two transparent lobes and wing markings. Male imago (n= 2) Total length 3.08���3.29 mm. Wing length 2.43���2.46 mm. Total length/ wing length 1.27���1.36. Wing length / length of profemur 2.82���2.97. Coloration. Head brown. Thorax brown, with darker postnotum, median anepisternum II and preepisternum, halteres yellow. All femora brown with a sub-apical pale ring; all tibiae and tarsi lost. Abdominal segments yellowish brown. Head. AR 0.61. Ultimate flagellomere 410 ��m long. Temporal setae 12���13, including 3 ��� 3 inner verticals, 5���6 outer verticals and 4 ��� 4 postorbitals. Clypeus with 19���20 setae. Tentorium 130���138 ��m long, 29���36 ��m wide. Palpomere lengths (in ��m): 31 ���39, 34��� 39, 101���122, 107 ��� 112, 182 ��� 191. Wing (Figure 9 A). Wing with 4 plain markings, 2 in cell r 4 +5, 1 in cell m 3 + 4 basal and extending to cell cu 1 distal, 1 in the middle of cell an, cell m 1 + 2 and distal area of cell r 4 + 5 with cloudy spots. VR 1.29���1.42. R with 22���27 setae, R 1 with 17���19, R 4 + 5 with 25���30. Squama with 10 setae. Thorax. Dorsocentrals 17, acrostichals 10���12, prealars 6���7. Scutellum with 15���20 setae. Legs. Superior volsella (Figure 10 C) pad���like, expanded distally, with 5 short inner setae and 2 long apical setae. Inferior volsella slender, 109���120 ��m long, with 11���12 oral setae and an apical seta. Gonostylus 187���211 ��m long, with 6���7 long setae along inner margin. HR 0.79���0.80. HV 1.56���1.76. Distribution. The species is known only from the type locality (Oriental China). Remarks. The species is very close to P. (T.) yaumounei Moubayed, 1992 from Lebanon but differs from the latter by the following combination of characters: wing with one plain linear marking in cell m 1 + 2 in P. P004), Yunnan Province, Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, Mengman County, Mengman Town, 4. V. 2013, light trap, S. Li. Paratype: 1 male, Sichuan Province, Xichang City, 4.VI. 1996, light trap, X. Wang. Etymology. Name after the type locality. Diagnostic characters. The species can be separated from other members of the subgenus by the wing marking, the superior volsella turned inwards apically and with 2 long sub-apical setae and 1 apical seta directed medially, distal margin of tergite IX triangular. Male imago (n= 2). Total length 2.12–2.59 mm. Wing length 1.28–1.33 mm. Total length / wing length 1.71– 1.95. Wing length / length of profemur 2.28–2.32. Coloration. Dark brown species. Legs with femora distal 1 / 3, fore tibia, fore tarsomere I and fore tarsomere II basal 1 / 2 yellow; the remaining segments brown. Thorax brown with darker postnotum and preepisternum. All abdominal segments brown. Head. AR 0.70–0.75. Ultimate flagellomere 310–340 µm long. Temporal setae 9 – 9, including 2–3 inner verticals, 3–4 outer verticals and 3 – 3 postorbitals. Clypeus with 12–13 setae. Tentorium 88–90 µm long, 15–20 µm wide. Palpomere lengths (in µm): 30 –33, 30–33, 70–75, 78– 80, 113 – 148; the 3 rd segment bearing 2–3 sensilla chaetica. Wing (Figure 9 A). VR 1.30–1.32. R with 14–16 setae; R 1 with 11–12; R 4 + 5 with 16–18. Squama with 4–5 setae. Thorax. Dorsocentrals 12–15, including 1–3 humerals; acrostichals 14–15; prealars 4–5. Scutellum with 7–10 setae. Legs. Terminal scale (Figure 9 B) of front tibia 40–45 µm long, triangular and apically pointed; spur of middle tibia 45–48 um long including 20–23 µm long comb, un-spurred comb 18–23 µm long, spur on hind tibia 45–50 µm long including 23–25 µm long comb, un-spurred comb 20–25 µm long. Width at apex of front tibia 38–40 µm, of middle tibia 38–40 µm, of hind tibia 45–50 µm. Lengths (in µm) and proportions of legs as in table 1. Hypopygium (Figure 9 C, D). Tergite IX with 6–7 median setae. Laterosternite with 2 setae. Anal point 53–55 µm long, lateral projections 50–55 µm long. Anal tergite bands not fused basal to median setae. Phallapodeme 70– 75 µm long; transverse sternapodeme 43–55 µm long. Gonocoxite 93–115 µm long. Superior volsella (Figure 9 C) 40–53 µm long, with apex turned inwards, the base and apex covered with microtrichiae, the apex bearing 2 strong setae and 1 long apical seta directed medially. Inferior volsella parallel-sided, 75–83 µm long, with 7 oral setae and 1 apical seta. Gonostylus 125–130 µm long, with 5–6 long setae along inner margin. HR 0.74–0.92. HV 1.74–2.07. Distribution. The species was collected in Sichuan and Yunnan provinces (Oriental China). Remarks. The new species resembles P. (T.) neoperturbans Ree, 2009 distributed in Korea. They are compared in Table 3.

Holotype male (BDN No.01560), CHINA: Guangxi Autonomous Region, Longsheng County, Sanmen Town, 26. V. 1990, light trap, X. Wang. Paratype: 1 male, Fujian Province, Jianning County, the forestry bureau of county town, 26. IX. 2002, Z. Liu, light trap. Diagnostic characters. The species differs from other species of Tripodura in the shape of the straight superior volsella and the trifid anal point with long bare lateral projection. Key characters of male imago. Total length 1.89 mm, wing length 1.08���1.24 mm. AR 0.58���0.59. Clypeus with 13���14 setae. Wing with 4 markings, 1 at base of cell r 4 +5, 1 at base of cell m 1 +2, 1 in cell m 3 + 4 basal and extending to cell cu 1 distal, 1 in the middle of cell an. R with 12���14 setae; R 1 with 8���9; R 4 + 5 with 14���15. Squama with 5���6 setae. Dorsocentrals 13���16; acrostichals 11���14; prealars 3���4. Scutellum with 9���10 setae. Terminal scale of front tibia with small spur, fore leg ratio 1.88. Anal tergite bands not fused basal, with 2���3 median setae. Anal point broad and 63���68 ��m long; lateral projection without microtrichiae, strongly sclerited and slightly spatulated at apex. Superior volsella 52���60 ��m long, with 2 strong diageotropic inner setae at 1 / 4 apex and 1 outer sub-apical seta; 11���13 slender setae present at apical 1 / 4. Inferior volsella 65���72 ��m long, with 7 oral setae and an apical seta. HR 0.78���0.91. HV 2.01. Distribution. The superior volsella of the present species without apical extension is unusual in the genus Polypedilum; relevant discussions on the variation of superior volsella with the genus Polypedilum consult Bidawid & Fittkau (1995) and Zhang et al. (2006). Holotype: male (BDN. 08029), CHINA: Xizang Autonomous region, Nyalam County, Zham Town, 21. IV. 1987, light trap, C. Deng. Paratypes: 11 males, as the holotype. Etymology. Named in honor of Professor Deng who collected the material. Diagnostic characters. Differs from other members of the subgenus by the lanceolate anal point, characteristic wing pattern and pad-like superior volsella. Male imago (n= 6). Total length 2.53���3.15, 2.78 mm. Wing length 1.50���1.98, 1.68 mm. Total length/ wing length 1.59���1.70, 1.66. Wing length/ length of profemur 2.50���2.86, 2.68. Coloration. Head brown. Thorax yellowish brown with pale halteres. Abdominal segments yellow. Femur brown with pale sub-apical ring, the remain parts of legs yellowish brown. Head. AR 0.28���0.40, 0.33. Ultimate flagellomere 170���230, 198 ��m long. Temporal setae 13 ���14, 13, including 3 ���4, 3 inner verticals, 6 ���7, 6 outer verticals and 3 ���3, 3 postorbitals. Clypeus with 15 ���22, 18 setae. Tentorium 108��� 125, 117 ��m long, 20 ���25, 23 ��m wide. Palpomere lengths (in ��m): 30 ���40, 34; 25 ���45, 35; 83 ���95, 86; 90 ���108, 94; 183���190, 186.. Wing (Figure 6 A). Wing with several markings, one at the base of cell r 4 + 5, one in middle of cell r 4 + 5, one at base of cell m 3 + 4 and extended across vein Cu 1, cell m 1 + 2 and distal area of cell r 4 + 5 with grey tract. VR 1.23���1.30, 1.27. R with 15 ���22, 18 setae; R 1 with 10 ���15, 13; R 4 + 5 with 22 ���32, 27 setae. Squama with 7 ���12, 10 setae. Thorax. Dorsocentrals 15 ���23, 18, including 2 ���3, 3 humerals; acrostichals 13 ���19, 15; prealars 3 ���6, 4. Scutellum with 16 ���23, 19 setae. Legs. Terminal scale (Figure 6 B) of front tibia 30 ���43, 36 ��m long, triangular with a small spur. Spur of middle tibia 43 ���58, 48 um long including 20 ���33, 24 ��m long comb, un-spurred comb 18 ���30, 20 ��m long, spur of hind tibia 40 ���53, 45 ��m long including 18 ���30, 24 ��m long comb, un-spurred comb 18 ���25, 21 ��m long. Width at apex of front tibia 40 ���55, 44 ��m, of middle tibia 40 ���50, 45 ��m, of hind tibia 48 ���63, 53 ��m. Lengths (in ��m) and proportions of legs as in Table 1. Hypopygium (Figure 6 C, D). Anal tergite band developed, fused at base. Tergite IX with 6 ���12, 9 median setae. Laterosternite with 1 ���3, 2 setae. Anal point lanceolate, 55 ���75, 66 ��m long; lateral projection 13 ���15, 14 ��m long. Phallapodeme 75 ���90, 83 ��m long, transverse sternapodeme 33 ���43, 37 ��m long. Gonocoxite 120���145, 131 ��m long. Superior volsella (Figure 6 C) pad���like, with 4���5 short setae on inner margin and 1 long seta on outer distal margin. Inferior volsella 100���118, 108 ��m long, with 10���11 oral setae and 1 apical seta. Gonostylus 138���163, 148 ��m long, with 5 long setae along inner margin. HR 1.03���1.14, 1.08. HV 1.65���1.80, 1.77. Distribution. The species was collected from the Oriental China. Remarks. P. (T.) dengae Zhang & Wang sp. n. resembles P. (T.) yaumounei Moubayed, 1992 in hypopygial morphology. P. (T.) dengae sp. n. has a low AR (0.28���0.40) comparing with P. (T.) yaumounei Moubayed (0.75��� 0.86). The superior volsella of P. (T.) dengae Zhang & Wang sp. n. has one long seta on outer distal margin, but 2 in P. (T.) yaumounei Moubayed.
