The object of research is the use of Digital Twin (DT) technology in the manufacturing sector and its impact on sustainability. The scientific problem addressed is the identification and quantification of the potential advantages and challenges associated with the adoption of DTs at operational, tactical, and strategic levels, particularly in the context of sustainable development. The paper investigates how DTs can redefine the measurement of sustainable development and diversify implementation within manufacturing infrastructure. The study concludes that DTs are a sophisticated technology that enables manufacturers to create precise virtual replicas of physical products or processes. This helps in optimizing resource utilization, reducing energy consumption, and minimizing waste, thereby promoting sustainability. Main DT clusters and common uses highlighted by the authors demonstrate huge impact on energy efficiency, waste management, sustainable design, logistics emissions reduction, water conservation, and stakeholder engagement. It is proved that DTs simulate and analyze complex systems, enabling the evaluation and improvement of sustainability levels. The paper presents promising practical examples of DT’s use, such as optimizing warehouse management in Ukraine, automating robots for increased efficiency, and aiding in the post-war reconstruction of cities with a focus on environmental friendliness and accessible infrastructure. The research specifically focuses on the top five tech giants and their use of DTs to drive sustainability. Additionally, the findings project substantial market growth potential for DTs in multiple sectors, emphasizing the urgent need for industries to integrate DTs into their sustainability strategies. Today digitalization increasingly affects the economy, including the transport industry. The consequence of this is the emergence of digital twins that allow modeling and predicting the behavior of both individual processes and enterprises as a whole.The aim of the article is to investigate the process of digitalization in the transport industry. The theoretical basis of the article was the universal organizational science of A. Bogdanov.The article offers a definition of information, and its classification in relation to the economy at three levels: applied information (technological information), information about algorithms of the owners of factors production behavior (behavioral information) and information, with which the impact on the owners of production factors and the real economy in general (directive information). The totality of these levels of information from the macroeconomic point of view forms an information economy, and from the microeconomic point of view – a digital twin of a particular subject of the real economy.It is proved that the digital economy is a subsystem of the information economy, differs in a binary way of presenting information and is maximally oriented to the management of the real economy.Information precedes all activity, so the real economy is a product of the information economy. Consequently, the technological division of labor is based on a prior informational division of labor. This theoretically allows us to judge the adequacy of the digital twin through the analysis of individual technological levels of the transport enterprise. This hypothesis was applied to the analysis of the Russian railway transport, which gave reason to consider this approach promising for use at macro- and micro-levels both.

Multiple forms of digital transformation are imminent. Digital Twins represent one concept, where we may use tools and technologies to “map” data (bits) from objects (atoms). It is gaining momentum because the “map” can act as a “compass” to reveal the status of atoms (things, devices, components, machines, people), process visibility and real-time transparency. Adoption of digital proxies, or digital duplicates, may face hurdles due to lack of semantic interoperability between architectures, standards and ontologies. The technologies necessary for automated discovery are in short supply. Progress depends on the convergence of information technology, operational technology and protocol-agnostic telecommunications. Making sense of the data, ability to curate data, and perform data analytics, at the edge (or mist, rather than in the fog or cloud) is key to value. Delivering algorithm engines to the edge, are crucial for edge analytics, if latency is detrimental. The confluence of these, and other factors, may chart the future path for Digital Twins. The number of unknown unknowns, and the known unknowns, in this process, makes it imperative to create global infrastructures and organize groups, to pursue the development of fundamental building blocks. We need new ideas and research in new domains to generate creative and innovative solutions.

Digital economy is developing rapidly and has a deep degree of influence on the national economy sectors as a whole, including the construction industry. Based on the fact that the digital economy contributes to large-scale changes in methods, management, lifestyle and is a key force in the reorganization of global elements and resources, the article analyzes current trends in implementation, ways and problems of digital transformation of the construction industry that arose in the period 2022–2023. Considering that one of the most important development goals of the construction industry digital transformation is the implementation of industrial intelligence, digital innovations have a significant impact on the business development speed, open up opportunities for continuous improvement of business processes. The article outlines the current trends in the digital transformation of the construction industry of the Russian Federation, methods of their implementation, their interrelation, problems, possible directions and applications. Along with the theoretical analysis practical introduction aspects of digital transformation trends in the construction industry of the Russian Federation are demonstrated. To achieve a technological breakthrough, recommendations are proposed for the transformation of the construction industry, considering the use of digital construction, digital architecture, and intelligent systems. The main impact aspects of the digital economy on the construction industry are formulated. The fact that the transformation of the construction industry in the era of the digital economy needs a deep adaptation to new technological processes indicates the relevance of research in this direction.

The present study is an investigation into one possible feature of one possible future for law in the People's Republic of China. Its speculations originate from a conceptual analysis of how the law presently relates to and is challenged by computational infrastructures in China, namely platforms. It is therefore a work of legal philosophy and, tentatively, of a legal philosophy for platforms in the PRC. A legal philosophy for platforms is imperative due to the increasing influence of platforms as an organizational form within societies, political economies, and governments. Platform companies in the PRC are increasingly engaged in taking up responsibilities of the state (either unintentionally or via delegation) and the state is adopting platform logics and designs as well. Platforms represent a paradigmatic shift in political economy and law, perforating the lines between public and private, users and citizens, home and work. The result has been a rendering of certain aspects of existing regulatory and administrative frameworks as anachronistic. Updating the legal apparatus is in order, and requires generating a novel analysis of platforms. This paper argues that one feature of this new platform ontology is models. It argues that, in order to make the data and emergent complexity endemic of platforms more intelligible for its users, platforms may use models to represent dynamic and live data to make analysis easier and decision-making faster. This paper concludes that modeling this data creates opportunities for Schmidtian sovereign decision-making, introducing new regulatory issues for the state and the law. In order to make this chasm between platforms and the law clear, this paper first analyzes existing regulatory responses to the platform economy in order to articulate the nascent legal philosophy for platforms in the PRC. This analysis reveals an emergent but inconspicuous approach, one that finds the PRC participating in platform governance and carefully calculating the nature of China's platformization through a multifaceted ICT-development policy environment. The PRC's legal philosophy towards platforms can be described as one of co-regulation and one that recognizes and attempts to constrain the sovereign decision-making of platforms. Using Foucauldian and Schmitdian theories of power and sovereignty, as well as phenomenological media theories of contemporary computation, this paper analyzes City Brains, a form of platform-based urban governance aggressively pursued in the PRC, in order to identify when these moments of platform sovereign decision-making might occur. This case study discloses that an under-researched feature of platforms is their modeling capacity, defined here as platforms' propensity to solve informational complexity problems and reinforce value-generation processes by offering users representational topologies of platform data, sometimes with an interface. The case study reveals that sovereign decision-making occurs in a number of circumstances within models, such as when (1) models create new subjects in the form of aggregating data across human and non-human data into clusters, when (2) models generate new 'territories' in the form of databases and digital twins and offer opportunities for platforms to give rise to new juridical concrete orders, and when (3) models' interfaces and envelopes condition new governmentalities and publics due to their envelope power, that is, their shaping of users' phenomenological relationship to their urban environment. The City Brain case analysis illustrates what this modeling sovereignty can look like, including the following characteristics: (1) models inevitably compose the world they are tasked with representing. This is because modeling requires abstraction, inclusion, and exclusion of data, (2) modeling sovereignty as a concept offers opportunities for states to innovate new forms of regulation, particularly with respect to the types of data fed into models and the conditions of users' interfacial interaction with models. As a result, modeling sovereignty can beget value-alignment between states, platforms, and corporations, (3) models are how large groups of actors, perhaps entire societies, are able to sense themselves and analyze themselves. Models are a condition of recursive governance, such as in the case of digital twins, (4) models are not always and simply visual, but are instead tools for platforms to concatenate and synthesize large amounts of live data into dynamic representational topologies. Historically speaking, models are to platforms what prices are to markets. Prices and models are both how complex sets of knowledge become intelligible to their respective organizational form. Models are predicated on significant increases in informational complexity due to big data. Thus, modeling sovereignty is both a question and a regulatory principle. The socio-economic effects from the introduction of smart manufacturing technologies are of significant interest in terms of their generalisation and systematisation at the current stage of the digital transformation on industrial enterprises, as well as the objectives in the context of industrial modernization and new business model development. The proposed systematisation is based on the allocation of three groups of socio-economic effects according to the main direction of their action. The first group of effects primarily leads to reduction in the costs of industrial enterprises. The second group of effects leads mainly to an increase in revenues: some effects to a greater extent in the short and medium term, others in the long term, including through the creation of long-term distinctive capabilities, unique competencies, and sustainable competitive advantages for industrial companies. The third group of effects includes social and economic effects that are broader in focus and have a multiplicative effect, as well as the character of positive externalities (external effects).As a result of systematisation, the author identified in three groups, respectively, 12, 8 and 13 effects from the implementation of the complex of smart manufacturing technologies. The author stresses the particular importance of studying the socio-economic effects from the implementation of smart manufacturing technologies, since many improvements at the intersection of production and social transformation are currently insufficiently studied. It contrasts to the core production effects, many of which have been studied in sufficient detail by the scientific and expert communities. Systematisation, classification, differentiation and quantitative assessment of various socio-economic effects of the complex of smart manufacturing technologies can and even in a certain sense should (in the context of the tasks to modernise the economy and industries of the Russian Federation) become a separate subject area at the intersection of performance management and smart production.

The results of digital and technological modernization of the oil and gas industry within the framework of the state program "Digital Economy 2017–2024" during the implementation of the measures proposed by research institutes of the Russian Academy of Sciences on the basis of the comprehensive scientific and technical program of the full innovation cycle, as well as the potential of exploratory and applied research to prepare a new state program "Data Economy" for the period up to the year 2030, are examined. The measures are a set of interrelated scientific, technical, and digital solutions and innovative technologies that ensures the achievement of goals and has been developed with the leading participation of the Institute of Oil and Gas Problems, Russian Academy of Sciences, and the Trofimuk Institute of Oil and Gas Geology and Geophysics, Russian Academy of Sciences, program "Digital and Technological Modernization of the World's Largest Oil and Gas Production Center in West Siberia." The main goal of the scientific research for the oil and gas economy of big geodata is the creation and implementation of digital modeling technologies; the development of ecosystems, computing platforms, and digital twins of oil and gas assets; and the transportation of hydrocarbons to existing and newly created petrochemical clusters in order to develop the domestic market for their complete processing into products with high added value and to strengthen the digital leadership of the Russian energy companies. The lack of high-performance computing systems is a key factor hindering the innovative development of the Russian oil and gas complex. The main oil and gas tasks that require the involvement of supercomputers with peta- and exaflop performance levels (1015 and 1018 floating point operations per second, respectively) include the tasks of managing the "digital ecosystem" of the World's largest oil and gas production center in West Siberia and unique oil and gas fields in real time. The development of the digital ecosystem is proposed to be formed on the basis of platform solutions and comprehensive scientific and technical programs and projects of a full innovation cycle. The main problems in the sphere of creating the digital energy economy of big data have been identified: an acute shortage of personnel with digital competencies in the field of oil and gas production and specialists in opticalization, multisensorization, supercomputing, cybersecurity, and petrorobotics. In the context of the rapid development of the digital economy information technologies represented by cloud computing Internet of Things and digital twins are fully embedded in the garment industry. The garment industry is rapidly reorganizing the entire industrial chain from design to after-sales. At present China's garment industry as a laborintensive industry is facing the dilemma of gradually weakening cost advantages market contraction weak high-end product development and manufacturing capabilities. Accelerating the pace of technology integration and improving the innovation ability of garment enterprises to cope with the development dilemma has increasingly become the consensus of the industry and academia and even the focus of government decision-making. By combing the literature it is found that there is little literature on the evaluation of innovation ability of textile and garment enterprises and there are problems of strong subjectivity in the evaluation process and insufficient sample size. At the same time driven by digital technologies such as big data artificial intelligence and industrial Internet the innovation process of garment enterprises is gradually integrated and a new index system needs to be constructed to evaluate their innovation ability. To promote the technological progress and innovation development of clothing enterprises this paper took China's listed clothing companies as the research object analyzed the main factors affecting the innovation ability measured the level of innovation ability and evaluated the innovation ability. The research time interval is from 2016 to 2022. Through the analysis of the relevant literature in the field of textile and garment this paper chose the listed companies in the textile and garment industry. After excluding the enterprises with delisting risk undisclosed annual report and termination of listing during the sample period this paper selected 25 sample enterprises that have survived. In terms of evaluation methods global factor analysis has the advantage of objective results in dealing with multi-dimensional and multi-index index system which meets the needs of research. Therefore this paper introduced the dimension of digital level and constructed the evaluation index system of innovation ability of listed clothing companies which contains 15 indicators in five dimensions innovation input innovation output business performance environmental factors and digital level. Based on the panel data of 25 listed Chinese clothing companies from 2016 to 2022 the global factor analysis method was used to aggregate 15 quantitative indicators into five common factors. The weights of these common factors were determined according to the corresponding variance contribution rate and then the scores of each common factor were weighted and averaged to obtain the innovation ability score. After obtaining the score of enterprise innovation ability the average scores of common factors and comprehensive factors of sample enterprises were calculated to explore the overall level of innovation ability. Three major conclusions were drawn. First R&D investment and patent output enterprise growth business environment and digital talents regional scientific research environment and equipment digitization level positively affected the innovation ability of listed clothing companies. Among them R&D investment and patent output had the highest variance contribution rate of 20. 32% which was the key factor affecting innovation ability. Second during the sample period the average score of innovation ability continued to decrease from 0. 003 to - 0. 011 indicating that the overall innovation ability of listed clothing companies was still at the middle and lower levels. Third the average score of business environment and digital talent factor decreased from 0. 024 to 0. 020 in fluctuation while the average score of regional scientific research environment and equipment digitization level factor continued to rise from - 0. 002 to 0. 013 indicating that the overall level of digitization of sample enterprises was good. Finally this paper put forward four major suggestions. First the core enterprises of the supply chain need to enable the enterprises on the chain to share the dividends of digital applications and also shoulder the burden of promoting the whole chain of digital technology. Second enterprises with weak innovation ability should increase investment in innovation resources and actively carry out digital cooperative innovation. Third the government should introduce diversified support policies improve the level of patent application services in the garment industry and accelerate the construction of information technology infrastructure. Fourth it is necessary to rely on industry associations and professional societies to build a digital innovation exchange platform and share digital innovation achievements. This paper evaluates the innovation ability of listed clothing companies from five aspects innovation input innovation output business performance environmental factors and digital level. It is found that innovation ability is affected by R&D investment patent output enterprise growth business environment and digital talents regional scientific research environment and equipment digital level. Seemingly NEOM city's developers have forgotten about an attractive technology called Metaverse, presented almost simultaneously along with the NEOM idea in 2017$$ 2017 $$. This study stipulates that Metaverse can appreciably assist in delivering a broad digital perspective of the future to governments, futurologists, people, and particularly the NEOM developers. Also, this study briefly addresses the benefits and opportunities of releasing Metaverse‐based NEOM for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), engineers, developers, futurologists, and people worldwide. Moreover, it is illustrated that KSA and people worldwide can benefit from the Metaverse version. For example, people can visit the world's dream city as digital tourists. The digital economy, as a key driver of China's economic development and industrial structure transformation, provides a strong impetus for the integrated development of the marine industry. Building on relevant research both domestically and internationally, this study employs programmatic grounded theory coding to analyze the effective case data published on authoritative official websites. We construct a theoretical model and architectural design for the integration of digital economy and marine industry, elucidating the crucial roles of digital infrastructure, digital collaborative service platforms, and digital application scenarios in this integration. We propose the following four integration pathways: digital resource collaborative optimization based on the 'sea–ship–shore–breeding–tourism–management' framework, industry chain optimization led by the seed industry, industrial cluster format optimization based on ecosystems, and land–sea linkage layout optimization driven by application scenarios. The quality and stability of the ecological environment are inevitable requirements of sustainable development, and previous studies have confirmed that digital economy and technological innovation have a positive enabling effect on the ecological environment. Against the background, clarify the current coordinated development relationship and level of digital economy, technological innovation, and ecological environment (DTE), and put forward policy recommendations to promote the coordinated development. This paper utilizes China's provincial panel data from 2013 to 2020 to construct a measurement index system for the levels of development in the digital economy, technological innovation, and ecological environment. The coupling coordination model is applied to evaluate the coordination relationship and level of the DTE system. Additionally, a principal component factor analysis is conducted to examine the driving factors of collaborative development level. Results show that (1) the coupling coordination relationship continues to improve, especially in cities like Guangzhou, Beijing, and Zhejiang. In 2020, most of the DTE systems' coupling coordination in China's 30 provinces were in the basic coordination stage. (2) Besides Beijing, Shanghai, Jiangsu, and other economically developed cities that lag behind in ecological environment, the rest lag in technological innovation. (3) The economic development level, technological innovation ability, and environmental forcing mechanism are the main driving forces for the development of the coupling and coordination degree of the DTE system in Chinese provinces and cities. The new digital technology revolution is spurring corporate digital transformation. Presently, the majority of enterprises are still in the digitalization stage. They have yet to pinpoint the key factors and suitable paths for their transformation. Therefore, this study aims to determine which and how factors affect this transformation to improve the current enterprise's digital transformation. We extract key elements affecting corporate digital transformation. Taking 98 representative businesses as examples, we utilize the fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis approach (fsQCA) to investigate how different factors combine to achieve digital transformation. The results show that: (1) No single factor can achieve digital transformation for enterprises, as it requires a combination of multiple factors. (2) Four configuration paths can lead to corporate digital transformation. (3) A business can equivalently substitute resource consolidation with strategic planning and human resources to drive digital transformation. Smart cities have become a new trend in urban development worldwide, and digital economy plays a crucial role. Therefore, this study aimed to create a novel formulation of digital economy that contributes to improving competitiveness of smart cities and provides practical guidance on digital economy strategies. A Soft System Methodology (SSM)–based action that utilizes the concept of systems was used to investigate conceptual models from different perspectives, from conceptual thinking to real-world–based action. Moreover, Indonesia was selected as a case study due to its extensive implementation of smart cities over the past five years, with over 250 cities participating in the program. The study successfully identified five scopes of digital economy, namely digital technology, digital service, shared economy and platform, digitalized economy, and financial services. It also identified six crucial criteria of economic competitiveness, namely human resources, product offerings, innovation capability, economic productivity, ease of business and investment, as well as financial capital. In conclusion, local cities and regencies' governments need to accelerate digital economy by creating supporting policies, making collaboration, effective digital marketing, improving digital literacy, guaranteeing cyber security, as well as protecting consumers and data privacy. Digital technology, acting as an engine for industrial development, propels the rapid integration of data elements and the swift iteration of digital logistics technology, significantly enhancing logistic resilience. Exploring the impact of digital technology on the resilience of logistics helps strengthen the latter's ability to withstand external shocks. Based on the correlation between digital technology and the resilience of the logistics industry, this study measured their levels in 275 Chinese prefecture-level cities from 2011 to 2020, showing that the former significantly improved the latter, a conclusion which remained valid after robustness tests. The mechanism analysis results showed that promoting industrial collaborative agglomeration was an important part of this process, while the threshold model analysis found that the impact on resilience had nonlinear characteristics. The heterogeneity test results showed that digital technology had a significant resilience-promoting effect in the eastern and northern coastal regions, as well as in the middle reaches of the Yellow and Yangtze Rivers. Accordingly, it is necessary to accelerate digital technology integration with the logistics industry and formulate differentiated development strategies. Purpose: Coordinating low-carbonization and digitalization is a practical implementation pathway to achieve high-quality economic development. Regions are under great emission reduction pressure to achieve low-carbon development. However, why and how regional emission reduction pressure influences enterprise digital transformation is lacking in the literature. This study empirically tests the impact of emission reduction pressure on enterprise digital transformation and its mechanism. Design/methodology/approach: This article takes the data of non-financial listed companies from 2011 to 2020 as a sample. The digital transformation index is measured by entropy value method. The bidirectional fixed effect model was used to test the hypothesis. Findings: The research results show that emission reduction pressure forces enterprise digital transformation. The mechanism lies in that emission reduction pressure improves digital transformation by promoting enterprise innovation, and digital economy moderates the nexus between emission reduction pressure and digital transformation. Furthermore, the effect of emission reduction pressure on digital transformation is more significant for non-state-owned, mature and high-tech enterprises. Originality/value: This paper discusses the mediating role of enterprise innovation between carbon emission reduction pressure and enterprise digital transformation, as well as the moderating role of digital economy. The research expands the body of knowledge about dual carbon targets, digitization and technological innovation. The author's findings help update the impact of regional digital economy development on enterprise digital transformation. The digital economy plays an important role in promoting the high quality and sustainable development of the marine fishery economy. Based on the panel data of the digital economy and marine fishery development from 2011 to 2022, we firstly adopted the entropy method to comprehensively evaluate the economy quality level of the digital economy and marine fishing. Secondly, we constructed a two-way fixed effect model to empirically analyze the impact of digital economy development on the marine fishery economy quality and the mediating role of marine green science and technology innovation, and further explored the regional heterogeneity of the digital economy on the marine fishery economy quality. Several findings emerge. The digital economy and the marine fishery economy quality level was relatively low and showed a fluctuating increase. The development of the digital economy can significantly improve the economy quality of marine fishing, and the conclusion was still valid after considering a series of robustness tests. The digital economy can drive the development quality of the marine fishery economy through marine green technology innovation. This paper proposes fostering the advancement of digital technology in the marine fishery sector, to effectively harness the innovation-driven potential of the digital economy, so as to facilitate the harmonious development of both the marine and digital economies. Rural industrial integration refers to the process of relying on technological innovation and industrial model innovation to promote the optimal allocation of factors such as land, capital, and labor in rural areas, promote the optimization of a rural industrial structure, rural property rights stability, agricultural and rural development, and ultimately achieve the extension of the agricultural industry chain and improvements in farmers' income levels. In order to grasp the mechanism of digital economy and rural land certification on rural industrial integration, this paper analyzes the impact of digital economy development and rural land certification on rural industrial integration based on the 2011–2021 panel data of the Yangtze River Economic Belt at the municipal level. Research has shown the following. (1) The early development of the digital economy significantly promoted the integration of rural industries. After overcoming the turning point of the digital economy, the digital economy has a restraining effect on the integration of rural industries; in terms of controlling variables, the education level of rural residents, regional economic development level, per capita disposable income of rural residents, and rural power generation all significantly promote the process of rural industrial integration. (2) Rural land certification has played a positive transmission role by confirming, reviewing, and registering land ownership in accordance with the law, clarifying the ownership of land rights, providing a stable property rights foundation for rural industrial integration, and effectively promoting rural industrial integration. (3) The impact of the digital economy on rural industrial integration has a single threshold effect, and after crossing the threshold value of a rural population, the positive impact of the digital economy on industrial integration is more significant. (4) The development of the digital economy has significantly improved the integration level of rural industries in this region and neighboring areas. With the swift advancement of the global digital economy, data has emerged as a critical component in fostering the integration of large enterprises with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Nevertheless, due to disparities in resources and capabilities between these entities, there is a deficiency in the willingness to share data, hindering the full actualization of data’s potential value. Hence, it is imperative to facilitate a novel cooperative development paradigm wherein platforms enable data sharing among large enterprises and SMEs. In this paper, we construct a tripartite evolutionary game model encompassing large enterprises, SMEs, and digital platforms, examine the evolutionary stable strategies adopted by these entities in the data sharing, and use numerical simulation to explore the system’s evolutionary stability under various influencing factors. Contrasting with prior research, this study considers the heterogeneity of enterprise scale and delves into the data sharing dynamics between large enterprises and SMEs. Simultaneously, it positions the digital platform as a player in the game, examining its impact on data sharing among the enterprises. Findings indicate that: (1) SMEs exhibit greater eagerness for data sharing compared to large enterprises, which display a U-shaped influence during the process; (2) Digital platforms are particularly sensitive to costs, with the platform’s initiative and the service quality will affect enterprises strategic choices; (3) Government subsidies positively encourage tripartite cooperation, and robust data security governance framework is crucial for enterprises. Finally, based on the results of the study and combining with the current situation of digital economy development, it puts forward the suggestions for promoting platforms to empower large enterprises and SMEs to realize data sharing and the prospects for future research. Supply chain security is a major prerequisite for China's successful industrial modernization, while the digital economy has significantly contributed to industrial transformation and upgrading. This study considers China's wooden furniture industry as its research object, constructing an evaluation index system of the digital economy and supply chain security of the wooden furniture industry. Then, it studies the impact of the digital economy on supply chain security through theoretical analysis and empirical methods using the two-way fixed model of provinces and time. The findings demonstrate that the digital economy effectively enhances the level of supply chain security in China's wooden furniture industry, further validating the digital economy's positive externality impact on the traditional real economy. The impact mechanism test shows that inventory turnover capacity is the focal point for the digital economy to improve the supply chain security of the wood furniture industry, specifying the starting point for that industry's digital transformation. The heterogeneity findings show that the role of the digital economy in improving the wood furniture industry's level of supply chain security is more significant in inland areas than in coastal areas. Additional analyses found a threshold effect of the digital economy's impact on supply chain security, indicating its limitations. This study explores the impact of the digital economy on the real economy from a traditional manufacturing industry, enriching research on the positive externalities of the digital economy as well as providing a reference for traditional manufacturing industries, such as that of wooden furniture, to probe the embedding points of the digital economy and appropriate digital transformation. In recent years, the digital economy has shown great potential in regard to in driving social production and development. In the context of the construction of digital villages, the deep integration of the digital economy and agricultural development has injected new vitality into improving the quality and efficiency of agricultural production, becoming an important way to promote sustainable agricultural development. Based on the panel data of 31 provinces in China from 2012 to 2021, the study utilizes the entropy method to measure the level of the digital economy and the high-quality development of agriculture. Additionally, this study explores the impact and mechanism of the digital economy on the high-quality development of agriculture by the fixed effect, mediation effect, and the spatial spillover models. In summary, the digital economy can significantly drive the high-quality development of agriculture, which is still valid after considering endogeneity and robustness. Mechanistically, the rationalization of industrial structure is an important path for the digital economy in regard to driving the high-quality development of agriculture. Regionally, the dividends of the digital economy for high-quality agricultural development in the central and western regions are greater than those in the eastern region. Spatially, the digital economy has a spatial spillover effect on the high-quality development of agriculture. Moreover, it can promote the synergistic development of adjoining regions. Therefore, policy recommendations are made in terms of strengthening rural infrastructure, emphasizing the development of regional shortcomings, and strengthening internal with external regional linkages. Modern industrial enterprises are interested in the production and implementation of innovations in various forms, as innovations, regardless of type, allow them to increase their competitiveness by reducing production costs or ensuring a monopoly position in the market. In turn, the effectiveness of innovation activity is largely determined by the state of the organizational and management structures of the enterprise, which should be focused on effective decision-making in the implementation of digital technologies. The aim of the research is to study the essence, principles and opportunities of using digital twin technology to manage the innovation activities of industrial enterprises in Russia, taking into account the accumulated best international practices. The objectives of the study are: assessment of the current state of innovation activity of industrial systems in the international aspect; characterization of digital twin technology to substantiate its role in improving the efficiency of innovation management of manufacturing enterprises; formation of the authors’ concept of innovation management of industrial systems based on digital twin technology. To analyze the material on the stated issues, the authors used such methodological techniques and tools as abstract-logical method, methods of content analysis, behavioral approach, comparative evaluation, generalization, and induction. The study reveals the current state of innovation activity of global industrial systems, defines the role of digital technologies in improving the efficiency of management of innovation activities of business entities. The SWOT-analysis of the process of using digital twins in the innovation activities of industrial enterprises allowed us to identify opportunities and threats to their implementation in the production process. Based on the matrix of digital transformation of economic systems, we identified promising industries driving the progressive development of digital twin technology. The paper proposes the concept of innovation management of industrial systems on the basis of digital twin technology taking into account its functional and innovation management characteristics. The article proves that digital twin technology allows getting information about the properties of a future innovative product faster, reducing the volume of field tests by means of conducting the virtual ones, as well as by using accumulated and analytically processed historical data about the design and operation of similar products. As a rapid prototyping tool, this technology accelerates innovation and reduces the cost of an industrial system. The scientific significance lies in the expansion of theoretical ideas about the approaches to the development of innovation through digital twin technology. The practical significance lies in the formation of methodological foundations for understanding digital twins as a factor that can improve the efficiency of innovation management in industrial enterprises. The prospects for further development of the work are associated with the creation of methods and tools for strategic management of innovation, providing the opportunity to develop and implement digital technologies for the management of innovation activities in the context of uneven development of the digital economy in various industrial sectors of Russia.

The article continues the research on the prospects of achieving digital maturity in Russian metallurgical industry as one of the digitalization drivers of the Russian economy. The analysis results showed that the metallurgical business has a high innovative potential for the digital maturity growth. The second part examines the application of Industry 4.0 technologies in domestic metallurgy by the example of industry leaders in digitalization. The purpose study is to determine the directions of digital transformation in metallurgy to achieve digital maturity in new geopolitical conditions based on the innovative activity assessment of industry leaders. The study object is Russian metallurgical companies (technological development of the industry) drivers. The study subject is the digital transformation process of metallurgical companies in the conditions of economic sanctions. The research methodology is based on the innovation activity assessment. The research methods include indicative, comparative, and statistical analyses. The impact of the economic sanctions imposed in 2022 on the digital transformation in the industry has been assessed, problems and approaches to their solution have been identified. The study results demonstrated the significant potential of the metallurgical industry to achieve digital maturity due to the high innovative activity of industry leaders, despite the sanctions. The key areas of digital transformation are digital twins, machine vision and artificial intelligence, the creation of metal products and secondary raw materials marketplaces, which corresponds to the global digitalization trend. In recent years, the rapid advancement of digital technology has supported the growth of the digital economy. The transformation towards digitization in the public health sector serves as a key indicator of this economic shift. Understanding how the digital economy continuously improves the efficiency of public health services and its various pathways of influence has become increasingly important. It is essential to clarify the impact mechanism of the digital economy on public health services to optimize health expenditures and advance digital economic construction. This study investigates the impact of digital economic development on the efficiency of public health services from a novel perspective, considering social media usage and urban–rural healthcare disparities while constructing a comprehensive index of digital economic development. The findings indicate that the digital economy reduces the efficiency of public health services primarily through two transmission mechanisms: the promotion of social media usage and the widening urban–rural healthcare gap. Moreover, these impacts and transmission pathways exhibit spatial heterogeneity. This study unveils the intrinsic connection and mechanisms of interaction between digital economic development and the efficiency of public health services, providing a theoretical basis and reference for government policy formulation. Digital technology can be used to adjust the structure of energy production, promote the development of new agricultural production technologies, and reduce carbon emissions. With the increasing integration of digital technology in various fields, rural development is also entering a critical period of digital transformation. Therefore, this paper uses digital technology and agricultural carbon emission intensity as research objects. We use panel data from 2011 to 2019. We first measure and analyse the level of digital technology development in China. This article empirically tests the impact between digital technology and the intensity of agricultural carbon emissions. Digital technology can be used to significantly suppress the intensity of agricultural carbon emissions. The development of the cultural industry cannot be isolated from the efficient integration with the digital economy and digital technology at the current stage of the technological and industrial revolution. This paper constructs an indicator system to measure the sustainable development of the cultural industry and tests the relationship between the digital economy and the sustainable development of the cultural industry using an OLS model based on China's provincial panel data from 2011 to 2021. The findings of this study suggest that the digital economy can significantly aid in the long-term growth of cultural companies. The process of promoting sustainable development of the cultural industry through the digital economy has also advanced thanks to the government's strong support. This report also suggests governmental recommendations based on these findings for the sustainable development of China's cultural industry in the age of the digital economy. The significance of accurately assessing the influence of digital economy growth upon reducing emission of carbon in the context of worldwide climate governance cannot be overstated. This is crucial in encouraging low-carbon economic advancement at national level, achieving carbon peak and neutrality as soon as possible, and creating a shared future for humanity. A mediating effect model is established using cross-country panel data from 100 countries, ranging from 1990 to 2019, to assess the influence of digital economy development upon emission of carbon and to explore its underlying mechanism. The study found that: the growth of national emission of carbon can be considerably suppressed by digital economy development, and the reduction of emissions is positively associated to each country's level of economic advancement. Digital economy growth influences regional emission of carbon via intermediary channels like energy structure and efficiency, with energy intensity having a particularly noticeable intermediary impact. The inhibitory influence of digital economy development upon emission of carbon differs among countries with different levels of income, and improvements in energy structure and efficiency can precede to energy savings and emission reduction in both middle- and high-income countries. The above findings offer policy guidance for harmoniously advancing the growth of digital economy and climate management, hastening the low-carbon transformation of national economies, and implementing China's carbon peaking initiative. This article details the approaches to the formation of digital economy models in enterprises, based on world practice, and in accordance with the concept of "digital Uzbekistan – 2030", according to the main directions of digital development of the country, the authors include two main ones: technological and networked approach to the model of strategic improvement of the activities of enterprises of Uzbekistan. And this is what the authors propose to combine into the "digital twins" model.

The coupling and coordination of digital economy and urban–rural integration can help narrow the urban–rural gap and help realize comprehensive modernization. Based on the data of 31 provinces in China from 2011 to 2020, the index systems of digital economy and urban–rural integration were constructed, respectively, by using the entropy method, and the coupling coordination degree between digital economy and urban–rural integration was calculated by using the coupling coordination degree model. The spatio-temporal evolution characteristics were analyzed by using the spatial Durbin model, and the influencing factors of the coupling coordination degree were deeply decomposed. The results showed that the coupling coordination degree of digital economy and urban–rural integration has been significantly improved in the whole country during the decade, with the overall spatial distribution characteristics of "high in the east and low in the west" and "high in the south and low in the north". The growth momentum of the backward provinces was relatively better, which have more obvious characteristics of positive spatial agglomeration. The level of economic development, government support, technological innovation and industrial structure had positive promoting effects on the coupling coordination degree. Except for the negative spatial spillover effect of government support, the three other factors all had promoting effects on the coupling coordination degree in neighboring provinces. This paper analyzes the essence of the conceptual approach to the intellectual digital innovation economy, which will be formed based on the normal development of the digital economy. It is noted that most researchers of the economy of the modern era use many different concepts such as knowledge, digital, Internet, post-industrial, virtual, network, information, electronic, intellectual, etc. in their works. Scientific approaches to the study of the development problems of the intellectual economy formed in the new era are classified. This paper examines the innovation strategy of Siemens, a key player in Europe's digital economy, by performing network and lexical analyses using data derived from Siemens's patents and scientific publications since 1998. We observe that the company's innovation efforts evolved from a broader attempt to develop internal information and communication technology (ICT) capabilities – alongside its historical industrial priorities – to a strategy focused on developing artificial intelligence (AI) for sector-specific and niche applications (such as life and medical sciences). As a result, it became dependent on tech giants' clouds for accessing more general AI services and digital infrastructure. We build on the intellectual monopoly literature focusing on the effects of tech giants on other leading corporations, to analyse Siemens's experience. By abandoning the development of general ICT and given the emergence of tech giants as digital economy intellectual monopolies, we show that Siemens is risking its technological autonomy towards these big tech companies. Our results provide clues to understand the challenges faced by Europe and its firms in relation to US and Chinese tech giants. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Recently, the widespread adoption of the Internet of Things (IoT) model has led to the development of intelligent and sustainable industries that support the economic security of modern societies. These industries can offer their participants a higher standard of living and working services via digitalization. The IoT also includes ubiquitous technology for extracting context information to deliver valuable services to customers. With the growth of connected things, the related designs often suffer from high latency and network overheads, resulting in unresponsiveness. The continuous transmission of enormous amounts of sensor data from IoT nodes is problematic because IoT-based sensor nodes are highly energy-constrained. Recently, the research community in the field of IoT and digitalization has labored to build efficient platforms using machine learning (ML) algorithms. ML models that run directly on edge devices are intensely interesting in the context of IoT applications. The use of intelligence ML algorithms in the IoT can automate training, learning, and problem-solving while enabling decision-making based on past data. Therefore, the primary aim of this research is to provide a systematic procedure to review the state-of-the-art on this scope and offer a roadmap for future studies; thus, a structure is introduced for industry sustainability, based on ML methods. The publications were reviewed using a systematic approach that divided the papers into four categories: reinforcement learning, semi-supervised learning, unsupervised learning, and supervised learning. The results showed that ML models could manage IoT-enabled industries efficiently and provide better results compared to other models, with significant differences in learning time and performance. The study findings are considered from a variety of angles concerning the industrial sector's capacity management of the new elements of Industry 4.0 by combining the industry IoT and ML. This paper empirically tests the impact mechanism of digital economy development on manufacturing total factor productivity, using data from Chinese manufacturing enterprises from 2011 to 2020, and based on the theoretical framework of the impact of digital economy development on manufacturing total factor productivity. The development of the digital economy has been found to have a significant positive impact on the total factor productivity of the manufacturing industry. The heterogeneity effect demonstrates that the digital economy in coastal areas has a significant effect on the improvement of manufacturing total factor productivity, with the eastern coastal area having the strongest effect; the digital economy in the Yellow River's middle reaches, the Yangtze River's middle reaches, and the southwest also having a significant effect, with the effect in the southwest region being more significant; and the digital economy in the northwest and northeast having no effect. Possible reasons include larger bottlenecks in the western region's labor force structure, technology level, and management capabilities, which may lead to the inability of enterprises to effectively absorb the dividends of digital change and apply the scenarios, thus affecting the release of their productivity effects. In the digital era, the contradiction between regional urban development and land ecological protection is still prominent. Clarifying the relationship and internal interaction logic among digital economy (DE), new-type urbanization (NU), and land ecology (LE) is of great significance to the region's sustainable development. Based on theoretical analysis, this study examines the relationship among DE, NU, and LE in the Yangtze River Delta through spatial analysis and empirical test with the city data from 2011 to 2020. The study found that: (1) The overall development level of DE–NU–LE in the Yangtze River Delta shows a steady upward trend, the development level of DE and NU lags behind LE, and the convergence trend among them gradually strengthened. (2) The DE-NE-LE and the coupling coordination have different and complex spatial and temporal dynamic evolution characteristics. The ability for coordinated development is enhanced continuously, which presents a typical pattern of "high in the east and low in the west". (3) The DE has a lasting role in promoting the development of the NU and LE, while the support and stimulation of NU and LE for DE needs to be strengthened. The relationship between the NU and LE shows a mutually restricted trend. (4) The DE has a significant "siphon effect". While NU and LE both have significant positive spatial spillover effects, which can promote the coordinated development of surrounding cities. Great importance is attributed to a transition towards a bioeconomy regime. The bioeconomy can foster more sustainable production and consumption systems and therefore contribute to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. This transition is facing several inhibitors, such as dysfunctional communication between different actors and insufficient innovative activity. Scholars and practitioners consider coupling technological developments between the bioeconomy and the digital economy as a driving‐force to accelerate the transition towards a bioeconomy and bring solutions to major inhibitors. In this paper, we therefore seek to better understand how and if the bioeconomy and the digital economy converge to create the needed momentum and capture the full potential. Whereas the increasing number of scientific papers highlight benefits of digital technologies for the bioeconomy, our analyses of merger and acquisitions reveal tendencies of an initial blurring of boundaries between both, bioeconomy and digital economy market boundaries. Still, bioeconomy companies acquire digital companies to a greater extend indicating high benefit of implementing digital technologies within the bioeconomy. Our results contribute to the extant body of convergence research by implementing convergence indicators in a new case study as well as coupling transition theory and convergence literature. Both literature bodies support the better understanding of the transition towards a knowledge‐based digital economy as transition theory describes the path to a new digital bioeconomy regime created by cross‐sectoral convergence. Along with the steady worsening of environmental contamination, improving environmental governance performance (EGP) is an urgent issue that needs to be addressed. This study adopts panel data from 275 Chinese cities to examine the holistic relationship between the digital economy (DE) and urban EGP in multiple dimensions. The relationship is tested using fixed-effects models, mediated effects models, panel threshold models, and the spatial Durbin models. Results indicated that (1) the DE can effectively improve urban EGP. The findings still hold after robustness tests using instrumental variable estimation and the introduction of exogenous policy shocks. (2) The analysis of mediating effects shows that green technology innovation and industrial structure optimization are critical transmissions. (3) The panel threshold regression results indicate a nonlinear incremental phenomenon of the significant impact of the DE on urban EGP when nighttime lighting data is used as the threshold. (4) Spatial spillover analysis shows a positive spatial spillover effect of DE development on EGP in the surrounding cities. (5) Spatial heterogeneity analysis states that the enhancement effect of DE development on EGP is more significant in eastern China. Furthermore, areas located within urban agglomerations are more influenced by the DE. These findings provide a policy reference for fully exploiting the environmental enhancement effects of the DE. The digital economy plays an important role in achieving the strategic goal of "carbon peaking and carbon neutrality" in China. In this study, we construct a system dynamics (SD) model to comprehensively analyze the impact of the digital economy on CO2 emission. First, we simulate and forecast the future baseline of the digital economy, energy consumption, and CO2 emission in China from 2005 to 2040. Second, we study the impact of the digital economy on CO2 emission based on scenario analysis of different digital economy growth rates. Finally, we study the influencing factors of CO2 emission reduction effect of the digital economy. The results indicate the following: (1) CO2 emission will peak in 2034. From 2020 to 2025, the cumulative reduction in energy consumption intensity will be 15.75% and the cumulative reduction in CO2 emission intensity will be 20.9%. Both indicators will reach the national goals during the 14th Five-Year Plan period. However, it will require more effort to realize the goal of the share of non-fossil energy. (2) There is an inverted U-shaped relationship between the digital economy and CO2 emission. The digital economy aggravates CO2 emission mainly by promoting energy consumption, but it reduces CO2 emission by promoting the upgrading of the energy consumption structure and reducing the energy consumption intensity. (3) The R&D investment intensity and the environment investment intensity can strengthen the CO2 emission reduction effect of the digital economy. The purpose of this article is to analyze the trends in the development of the financial sector, as well as the digital technologies used in this area, to identify the fundamental drivers for improving the ecosystem of the financial sector of the economy. Achieving sustainable business growth is one of the urgent tasks of management, both at the level of individual enterprises and organizations and the national economic system as a whole. This issue is of the highest relevance in the context of the high dynamism of the external environment and the growing level of uncertainty. When writing the article, the following research methods were used: trend analysis, visual graphical analysis, descriptive statistics, correlation-regression analysis, and cross-tabulation. Based on the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that the following indicators have the greatest impact on the ecosystem of the financial sector: the share of financial organizations that had special software for managing the procurement of services; the share of financial organizations that had special software for managing the sales of services. With regards to the Russian financial sector, there is a weakness in the development of the ecosystem, which is partly due to the insufficient use of complex digital solutions in managing financial flows, for example, the use of ERP systems (enterprise resource planning), CRM systems (customer relationship management), and SCM systems (supply chain management). We believe that the conclusions and results presented in this article can be used as methodological tools for developing strategies for improving the ecosystem of the financial sector in the context of the transition to a digital economy. Industry 4.0 affects nearly every aspect of life by making it more technologically advanced, creative, environmentally friendly and ultimately, more interconnected. It also represents the beginning of the interconnectedness and metaverse associated with Industry 5.0. This issue is becoming decisive for advancement in all areas of life, including science. The primary goal of this study is to concisely explain how current Industry 4.0 trends might interact with existing work systems in global value chains to accelerate their operational activity in the context of firms from the Visegrad Four (V4) nations. Through an examination of the digital abilities in these nations, the purpose of the study is also to demonstrate how well citizens, employees, and end users are able to comprehend the problem at hand. The most recent resources for the topics are covered in the first section of the work. The next one uses graphic analysis and mutual comparison methods, generally comparing existing data over time; it is secondary research, and through these methods the Industry 4.0 applications can significantly speed up the work process itself when compared to the traditional lean process, primarily because of its digital structure. It is difficult to predict which of the V4 will be digitally prepared, as the precedent shifts are based on distinct indicators; therefore, it is crucial that all V4 nations expand their digital adaptability dramatically each year, primarily as a result of spending on scientific research, and education that is organised appropriately.
