The influences of organic manganese with crambe orientalis biodiesel on combustion, performance and emissions were researched experimentally. The measured in‐cylinder pressure data were handled in MATLAB/Simulink environment and obtained as a result of fuel combustion, heat release rate, start of combustion, indicated mean effective pressure, indicated thermal efficiency, maximum pressure rise rate and ignition delay. It has been concluded that indicated thermal efficiency increased 1.96% and 1.82% with CO B25 and CO B50 compared to pure diesel at 11.25 Nm. On the contrary, brake specific fuel consumption increased 0.96% and 8.2% with CO B25 and CO B50 according to pure diesel at 11.25 Nm. Besides, decreases were observed on carbon monoxide, hydrocarbon and smoke emissions with fuel blends compared that diesel. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this study, the combustion, performance, and emission results of the HCCI engine under different fuel and engine parameters conditions were examined experimentally and statistically. Engine speed, excess air ratio, and fuel types with different fusel oil concentrations were used as variable parameters. The engine speed was determined as 1000 and 1200 rpm, excess air ratio 1.7 and 2.1, and fusel oil ratio in fuel was determined as 15% and 30%. When the HCCI engine was operated with these input parameters, the effective torque indicated thermal efficiency, maximum pressure increase rate, COV imep , HC, CO, and NOx values were examined. Experiments were carried out in line with the determined experimental series, and the data obtained were analyzed. Optimization has been made to determine the optimum input parameters by inputting the targeted response parameters from the HCCI engine. After the optimization study, it was concluded that the optimum response parameters, engine speed was 1262.44 rpm, excess air ratio was 1.91631, and was obtained by using F30 fuel. Under optimum input parameters, the effective torque is 5.751 Nm, ITE 34.089%, MPRR 7.257%, COV imep 4.009%, CA50 7 ° CA, HC 454.185 ppm, CO 0.0727%, and NO x 0.000169486 ppm. • HCCI combustion phase was controlled by using fusel oil as fuel. • Optimum operating parameters were achieved with F30 fuel while lambda was 1.91631 • Thermal efficiency was determined as 34.089% with F30 at 1262.44 rpm engine speed. • Knocking tendency of the high-octane fusel oil HCCI engine has been improved. In this study, the effects of JP-8 military aviation fuel and biodiesel sunflower oil on the performance and emissions of the internal combustion engine were investigated by creating a mixture of fuel in different concentrations. Experimental and statistical methods were used in the study process. All of the experiments were carried out on an experimental setup with a single-cylinder compression-ignition engine at 7.5, 12.5 and 17.5 Nm engine load conditions. A total of 5 different fuels were used, including pure JP-8 fuel, 3 different blended fuels and pure biodiesel fuel. The design of the Response Surface Method, which is used as a statistical method, was carried out with Central Composite Design in the Design Exper 11 program environment. After the created design, 13 different experiments were carried out. With the tests performed, the values of IMEP, BSFC, COV imep , ignition delay, equivalence ratio, exhaust gas temperature, CO, and NO x emission response parameters were determined. Quadratic models were created by performing variance analysis for the response parameters obtained. After the optimization, it was concluded that the engine load should be 14.49 Nm and the JP-8 fuel biodiesel ratio should be 2.47%. In case the internal combustion engine is operated with optimum input parameters, IMEP value is 3.71 bar, BSFC value is 193.46 g/kWh, COV imep value is 5.99 bar, CO value is 724 ppm and NO x value is 168.62 ppm. • BSFC improved as the JP-8 fuel ratio decreased. • Optimum operation was achieved with 14.49 Nm engine load and 2.47% biodiesel. • It has been observed that the increase in biodiesel ratio increases the amount of CO. • The increase in JP-8 fuel ratio resulted in NOx emission improvement. • Maximum IMEP value was obtained in fuel mixture with 50% biodiesel ratio. • Organic manganese additive improved oxidation reactions and reduced knocking tendency. • Higher thermal efficiency was obtained as 21.58% with CANB25K. • HC, CO and smoke emissions reduced with Crambe Abyssinica biodiesel fuel blends but NO x increased. In this study, biodiesel was produced from Crambe Abyssinica plant with KOH and NaOH catalysts and mixed with standard diesel fuel in different proportions. The effects of the test fuels obtained by adding organic manganese at the rate of 5 µmol/L. Experiments of all fuel types were carried out on a test setup containing a single-cylinder diesel engine under 2200 rpm engine speed, 3.75, 7.5, 11.25 and 15 Nm engine load conditions. The pressure data obtained as a result of the tests were analyzed in the MATLAB / Simulink simulation program environment, and the heat release rate, combustion stages, thermal efficiency, indicated mean effective pressure (imep), ignition delay (ID), maximum pressure rise rate (MPRR), ringing intensity (RI), cyclic of variations (COV imep) and brake specific fuel consumption (BSFC) values were calculated. Higher thermal efficiency was obtained as 21.58% with CANB25K fuel usage compared to CAKB25K fuel (20.82%). BSFC increased 0.96%, 8.24% and 10.36% with CAKB25K, CAKB50K and CAKB75K according to diesel at 11.25 Nm load respectively. Likewise, 1.51% 4.83% and 7.33% increase was seen with CANB25K, CANB50K and CANB75K according to diesel at 11.25 Nm load respectively. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
