This article discusses a case study of a male patient who presented with recurrent abdominal pain and was found to have a giant abdominal tumor caused by mesenteric fibromatosis. The patient underwent surgical excision of the tumor and a partial resection of the jejunum, resulting in a good recovery. Mesenteric fibromatosis is a rare subtype of desmoid fibromatosis that originates in the mesentery and is characterized by a clonal proliferative lesion of fibroblastic cells. Surgical resection is the primary treatment for mesenteric fibromatosis, and recurrence is typically rare after surgery. [Extracted from the article]
