OBJECTIVE:To probe into the clinical efficacy of azelastine hydrochloride nasal spray combined with desloratadine in treatment of allergic rhinitis. METHODS: 80 patients with allergic rhinitis admitted into Huanggang Central Hospital from Oct. 2014 to Feb. 2016 were selected to be divided into observation group and control group via the random number table, with 40 cases in each. The control group were treated with azelastine hydrochloride nasal spray, while the observation group additionally received desloratadine based on the control group, the treatment course was 5 weeks. The clinical efficacy and complications of two groups were observed. RESULTS:After treatment, the total effective rate of observation group was 95. 00%( 38/40 ), significantly higher than that of control group [ 67. 50%(27/40 ) ], with statistically significant difference ( P <0. 05 ). During treatment, the incidence of complications in observation group was 5. 00%( 2/40 ), significantly lower than that in control group [ 30. 00%( 12/40 ) ], with statistically significant difference(P<0. 05). CONCLUSIONS:The efficacy of azelastine hydrochloride nasal spray combined with desloratadine in treatment of allergic rhinitis is significant, which can effectively reduce the risks of complications.
