Cutaneous bacterial disease continues to account for a significant proportion of clinical visits. The continuing emergence of strains that are resistant to available antibacterial agents creates a challenge for dermatologists, who need to keep abreast of current treatment strategies. In this article, antibacterial regimens are presented for skin infections caused by organisms such asStaphylococcus, Streptococcus,Pseudomonas,Neisseria,Haemophilus ducreyi,Treponema pallidum,Bacillus anthracis, Yersinia pestis,Pasteurella multocida,Vibrio vulnificus,Actinomyces, andNocardia.
