The development of this simulator helps industry and dentist researchers to seek for plaque removal on the tooth. However, in toothbrush industry or any manufacturing department there are a bulky and massive machine with high cost and more suitable in industrial-level applications. Thus, for specific dental research, it is essential to develop the brushing simulator with a single brushing station that are simple, easy to operate and with a reasonable cost. In this study, two-dimensional motion of a brushing simulator with a single brushing station is investigated. The brushing simulator developed has five motion which is horizontal-vertical motion, elliptical motion, circular motion, inclined to the right motion, and zig-zag vertically and horizontally motion. From the result that will be observed, what is the relationship between those three parameters which are pressure (proportional to force applied), speed, and time taken. When the pressure given by the force higher, the time taken to brushing is longer. Higher speed gives faster time in all motions as it can overcome all of surface resistance. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
