Baseflow is a crucial water source in the inland river basins of high-cold mountainous region, playing a significant role in maintaining runoff stability. It is challenging to select the most suitable baseflow separation method in data-scarce high-cold mountainous region and to evaluate effects of climate factors and underlying surface changes on baseflow variability and seasonal distribution characteristics. Here we attempt to address how meteorological factors and underlying surface changes affect baseflow using the Grey Wolf Optimizer Digital Filter Method (GWO-DFM) for rapid baseflow separation and the Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) neural network model for baseflow prediction, clarifying interpretability of the LSTM model in baseflow forecasting. The proposed method was successfully implemented using a 63-year time series (1958-2020) of flow data from the Tai Lan River (TLR) basin in the high-cold mountainous region, along with 21 years of ERA5-land meteorological data and MODIS data (2000-2020). The results indicate that: (1) GWO-DFM can rapidly identify the optimal filtering parameters. It employs the arithmetic average of three methods, namely Chapman, Chapman-Maxwell and Eckhardt filter, as the best baseflow separation approach for the TLR basin. Additionally, the baseflow significantly increases after the second mutation of the baseflow rate. (2) Baseflow sources are mainly influenced by precipitation infiltration, glacier frozen soil layers, and seasonal ponding. (3) Solar radiation, temperature, precipitation, and NDVI are the primary factors influencing baseflow changes, with Nash-Sutcliffe efficiency coefficients exceeding 0.78 in both the LSTM model training and prediction periods. (4) Changes in baseflow are most influenced by solar radiation, temperature, and NDVI. With the rapid development of remote sensing technology, change detection (CD) methods based on remote sensing images have been widely used in land resource planning, disaster monitoring, and urban expansion, among other fields. The purpose of CD is to accurately identify changes on the Earth's surface. However, most CD methods focus on changes between the pixels of multitemporal remote sensing image pairs while ignoring the coupled relationships between them. This often leads to uncertainty about edge pixels with regard to changing objects and misclassification of small objects. To solve these problems, we propose a CD method for remote sensing images that uses a coupled dictionary and deep learning. The proposed method realizes the spatial-temporal modeling and correlation of multitemporal remote sensing images through a coupled dictionary learning module and ensures the transferability of reconstruction coefficients between multisource image blocks. In addition, we constructed a differential feature discriminant network to calculate the dissimilarity probability for the change area. A new loss function that considers true/false discrimination loss, classification loss, and cross-entropy loss is proposed. The most discriminating features can be extracted and used for CD. The performance of the proposed method was verified on two well-known CD datasets. The evaluation of thermoelectric materials relies significantly on the thermoelectric figure of merit, ZT, which serves as a crucial parameter in assessing their properties. The accurate prediction of ZT values can be accomplished by utilizing machine learning models to learn material characteristics. However, factors such as the size of the dataset, model hyperparameters, and data quality can all impact the accuracy of machine learning. In contrast to previous research where high-dimensional features were simply discarded to transform them into low-dimensional ones, deep learning models such as autoencoder can extract more effective information. Therefore, in this article, the combination of autoencoders and the Light Gradient Boosting Machine (LightGBM) is employed to learn the chemical characteristics and ZT values of various materials. The reliability of the model was confirmed by achieving an R2 score of 0.94 during tenfold cross-validation. 130 000 materials were predicted and screened, the temperature dependence of the screened materials was studied in depth, and 13 materials with high ZT values were identified. Four of the 13 most promising candidates identified are existing thermoelectric materials, while nine are ideal candidates for future experimental studies and validation. This article presents a proof‐of‐concept designer‐in‐the‐loop schematic map drawing tool, based on the marriage of two approaches—manual and automated, which provides the technical interactivity of drawing tools between the user and the computer. We focus on concentric circle maps as opposed to the commonly used orthogonal mode representation, which is suggested by previous studies that it could promote better network learning. In comparison with existing methods, the proposed method is more compatible with the framework of effective map design from psychological and aesthetic perspectives, and a range of options can be provided in conjunction with users' preferences. We evaluated our approach on a set of iterations with case studies of Hong Kong metro with a group of three co‐authors from the fields of geography, transport engineering, and education. Artificial intelligence-assisted security is an important field of research in relation to information security. One of the most important tasks is to distinguish between normal and abnormal network traffic (such as malicious or sudden traffic). Traffic data are usually extremely unbalanced, and this seriously hinders the detection of outliers. Therefore, the identification of outliers in unbalanced datasets has become a key issue. To help solve this challenge, there is increasing interest in focusing on one-class classification methods that train models based on the samples of a single given class. In this paper, long short-term memory (LSTM) is introduced into one-class classification, and one-class LSTM (OC-LSTM) is proposed based on the traditional one-class support vector machine (OC-SVM). In contrast with other hybrid deep learning methods based on auto-encoders, the proposed method is an end-to-end training network that uses a loss function such as the OC-SVM optimization objective for model training. A comprehensive experiment on three large complex network traffic datasets showed that this method is superior to the traditional shallow method and the most advanced deep method. Furthermore, the proposed method can provide an effective reference for anomaly detection research in the field of network security, especially for the application of one-class classification. Liver tumor segmentation (LiTS) is of primary importance in diagnosis and treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma. Known automated LiTS methods could not yield satisfactory results for clinical use since they were hard to model flexible tumor shapes and locations. In clinical practice, radiologists usually estimate tumor shape and size by a Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumor (RECIST) mark. Inspired by this, in this paper, we explore a deep learning (DL) based interactive LiTS method, which incorporates guidance from user-provided RECIST marks. Our method takes a three-step framework to predict liver tumor boundaries. Under this architecture, we develop a RECIST mark propagation network (RMP-Net) to estimate RECIST-like marks in off-RECIST slices. We also devise a context-guided boundary-sensitive network (CGBS-Net) to distill tumors’ contextual and boundary information from corresponding RECIST(-like) marks, and then predict tumor maps. To further refine the segmentation results, we process the tumor maps using a 3D conditional random field (CRF) algorithm and a morphology hole-filling operation. Verified on two clinical contrast-enhanced abdomen computed tomography (CT) image datasets, our proposed approach can produce promising segmentation results, and outperforms the state-of-the-art interactive segmentation methods. The detection of tunnel surface defects is the very important part to ensure tunnel safety. Traditional tunnel detection mainly relies on naked-eye inspection, which is time-consuming and error-prone. In the past few years, many defect detection methods based on computer vision have been introduced. However, these methods with manual feature extraction do not perform well in detecting tunnel defects due to the complicated background of tunnel surfaces. To address these problems, this paper proposes a novel tunnel defect inspection method based on the Mask R-CNN. To improve the accuracy of the network, we endow it with a path augmentation feature pyramid network (PAFPN) and an edge detection branch. These improvements are easy to implement, with subtle extra memory and computational overhead. In this paper, we perform a detailed study of the PAFPN and the edge detection branch, and the experiment results show their robustness and accuracy in tunnel defect detection and segmentation. A robust intrusion detection system plays a very important role in network security. In the face of complex network data and diverse intrusion methods, traditional machine learning methods seem to be inadequate and cannot meet the requirements of the current network environment. Existing deep learning-based methods are far from fully exploiting their potential in dealing with such one-dimensional feature data, and their performance is still unsatisfactory in detecting unknown intrusions. This paper proposes a deep learning approach for intrusion detection using a multi-convolutional neural network (multi-CNN) fusion method. According to the correlation, the feature data are divided into four parts, and then the one-dimensional feature data are converted into a grayscale graph. By using the flow data visualization method, CNN is introduced into the intrusion detection problem and the best of the four results emerge. The experimental results successfully demonstrate that the multi-CNN fusion model is very suitable for providing a classification method with high accuracy and low complexity on the NSL-KDD dataset. Furthermore, its performance is also superior to those of traditional machine learning methods and other recent deep learning approaches for binary classification and multiclass classification.
