Background: Physical restraint is applied in pediatric intensive care units to carry out certain painful procedures and to ensure the maintenance and continuity of life support devices. There is a need to analyse the factors that influence the behaviour or intention to use physical restraint. Aim: To create and test psychometrically a paediatric version of the Physical Restraint‐Theory of Planned Behaviour Questionnaire to assess paediatric critical care nurses' intention to use physical restraint. Study Design: A psychometric study. Five medical‐surgical Paeditric Intensive care Units from five hospitals in Spain. The study took place in three phases. In phase 1, the questionnaire was adapted. In phase 2, the content validity of each item was determined, and a pilot test was conducted. In phase 3, we administered the questionnaire and determined its psychometric properties. Results: The assessment of the intention to use physical restraint was extended to all critical paediatric patients, two items were eliminated from the initial questionnaire, four new items were included, and the clinical scenarios of the intention subscale were expanded from three to six. Overall content validity index for the full instrument of 0.96 out of 1. The Paediatric Physical Restraint‐Theory of Planned Behaviour Questionnaire is made up of four subscales (attitude, subjective norms (SN), perceived behavioural control (PBC), and intention) subdivided into 7 factors and 51 items. The internal consistency for the attitude subscale obtained a Cronbach's Alpha of 0.80 to 0.73, for the SN it was 0.72 to 0.89, for the PBC it was from 0.80 to 0.73 and for the intention subscale it was 0.75. Conclusions: The Paediatric Physical Restraint‐Theory of Planned Behaviour Questionnaire is an instrument composed of seven factors and 51 items that validly and reliably assesses the intention of paediatric nurses to apply PR in PICUs. Relevance for Clinical Practice: Having this instrument will help health centres move towards restraint‐free care by allowing managers to assess professionals' attitudes, beliefs, and intentions around the use of PR in PICUs. Background: Within the NICU, there is a delicate equilibrium between providing assistance to parents by nurses and prioritising family-centred care (FCC). The FCC assumes the role of a mediator, effectively conveying compassion. The intricate dynamics between FCC, parental nurse support, and parental stress in neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) necessitate comprehensive investigation. Objective: This study examines the mediating effect of FCC on the relationship between parental nurse support and parental stress in NICUs. Methods: This cross-sectional observational study used convenience sampling to select 223 parents (202 mothers) from Mansoura City hospitals in Egypt. Data were collected using the Nurse Parent Support Tool (NPST), Family-Centered Care Self-Assessment Tool (FCCS-NICU), and the Parental Stressor Scale: NICU (PSS: NICU). Mediation analysis was used to examine the relationships between variables. Results: Nurse support was positively associated with FCC (β = 0.81, p < 0.001) and negatively related to parental stress (β=-1.156, p < 0.001). FCC was found to reduce parental stress (β=-0.18, p < 0.001). Mediation analysis confirmed that FCC partially mediated the relationship between nurse support and parental stress (indirect effect β = 0.145, 95% CI: 0.055–1.007). Conclusions: This study highlights a significant association in the mediating role of FCC between nurse support and parental stress. Strengthening FCC practices can be an effective strategy for nurses to support parents and alleviate their stress in NICU settings. Implications to practice: NICUs should implement FCC-oriented training for nurses, foster a culture that supports FCC principles, and develop policies to establish FCC as a cornerstone of neonatal care. Aim: This research study aims to determine nurses' alarm fatigue (AF) levels in paediatric critical care units in two governmental hospitals and to examine the significant differences in the mean between nurses' attributes, nurses' working environment, and nurses' alarm management with the level of fatigue caused by the alarm. Background: In recent years, AF has become a significant and growing concern among nurses. However, in the Saudi Arabian paediatrics context, the impact of AF on nurses working in intensive care units remains unexplored. Method: A descriptive cross-sectional survey was conducted using a non-probability purposive sampling method. Data were collected from 216 nurses in two governmental hospitals through self-administered questionnaires comprised of four sections: individual attributes, work environment, alarm management, and AF scale. Data analysis: The Statistical Package of Social Science (SPSS) was used to analyse the data, and ANOVA was utilised to describe the sample's demographic characteristics and determine any differences. Results: Most participants were female, held a bachelor's degree, and were aged 31 to 35. Of the participants, 62.5% reported experiencing a medium level of AF, 29.2% reported a low level, and 8.3% reported a high level. Participants expressed that recurrent false alarms disrupt patient care and decrease trust in alarm systems. Significant differences in AF levels were observed based on marital status and the percentage of non-actionable alarms. Conclusions: Nurses working in paediatric critical units with high rates of false alarms, the frequent de-activation of alarms, and decreased trust in alarm systems are more likely to experience AF. Addressing AF is crucial for patient safety; nurse training on alarm management, the collaboration between biomedical and nursing staff, and technological advancements can help mitigate this issue. Implications for Practice: To minimise the adverse effects of AF, policymakers, biomedical experts, and nursing administrators must establish comprehensive policies and protocols concerning alarms. Background: Nurses provide care to meet the complex needs of patients in the increasing workload in the health system and are at risk of compassion fatigue. The concept of compassion fatigue has begun drawing attention in the last decade, as it negatively affects nurses' physical and mental health, job performance and satisfaction, and therefore patient care quality. Objectives: This study was to examine compassion fatigue and predictive factors in paediatric surgery nurses. Participants and research context: The study was cross-sectional, predictive and quantitative. It was conducted with the 135 paediatric surgery nurses. The data were sent to the email addresses of the members via Google Survey. Research data were collected with the Nurse Information Form, Compassion Fatigue Scale, Life Satisfaction Scale and Multidimensional Perceived Social Support Scale. Ethical considerations: After obtaining the approval of the University's ethics committee, the study was carried out after obtaining participants' informed written and verbal consent. Results: There was a difference between the level of compassion fatigue according to the paediatric surgery unit that worked the longest and the thought of changing their profession. Burn unit nurses and nurses who were considering changing professions have higher compassion fatigue scores. When the predictors of compassion fatigue were examined, the thought of changing the nursing profession and life satisfaction were significant predictors of compassion fatigue. The thought of changing the nursing profession and life satisfaction explained 22% of compassion fatigue. The same variables and the longest working period of the paediatric surgery unit were the estimators of the level of occupational burnout; explaining 29% of occupational burnout. Conclusions: Compassion fatigue, life satisfaction and perceived social support of paediatric surgery nurses are moderate. Objective: To document the impact of early follow-up by specialized cleft nurses (SCNs) to families of infants with cleft lip and/or cleft palate (CL/P). Design: Prospective inclusion of a control group, which received standard care alone, followed by an intervention group, which in addition received early SCN follow-up. Setting: The cleft lip and palate team at a University hospital. Participants: 70 families (69 mothers and 57 fathers); control group (n = 38); intervention group (n = 32). Intervention: SCNs offered a consultation at the maternity ward and follow-ups by phone or face-to-face at one, three, eight weeks and six months after birth. Outcome measures: Use of Internet-Questionnaire, Quality of discharge teaching scale (QDTS), Post discharge coping difficulty scale (PDCDS), Response on follow-up by health professionals. Results: Infants in the intervention group were admitted less frequently to a Neonatal Intensive Care unit (NICU); 21.9% vs 51.4%, P =.012. Parents in the intervention group used internet for cleft-related reasons less frequently (74.6% vs 85.9%), P =.112 and the mothers benefitted less from cleft-related activity on the internet (P =.013). The intervention group reported higher mean score for satisfaction with total cleft care (P =.001). There were no significant group differences regarding mean total score for discharge teaching (P =.315) and coping difficulties (P =.919). Conclusion: Early follow-up by a SCN with expertise in cleft care is highly valued by parents. Aim: To determine the association between nurse and institutional characteristics and perceived professional nurse knowledge and self‐efficacy of reporting child abuse and neglect. Design: A sample of N = 166 nurses were recruited to respond to the Reporting of Suspected Child Abuse and Neglect (RSCAN) survey. Methods: A multiple linear regression examined whether nurse characteristics and institutional characteristics were associated with the two RSCAN survey domain scores. Results: Perceived knowledge of a workplace child abuse and neglect protocol was associated with the knowledge subscale. Education and child abuse and neglect expertise were significant predictors of the self‐efficacy subscale. Nurses with a master's or higher degree and those who identified as being either forensic, paediatric or Emergency Department nurses, had less perceived institutional barriers to self‐efficacy of reporting child abuse and neglect. Conclusion: This study provides a preliminary insight into the institutional barriers and facilitators of nurses as child abuse and neglect mandated reporters. Implications for the profession and/or patient care: To encourage innovative education and collaborations to support nurses as fully informed child abuse and neglect mandated reporters. Impact: This research identifies the gaps and facilitators of nurses as child abuse and neglect mandated reporters to inform healthcare professionals and academic institutions on the importance of nurse education and experience in nurse knowledge and self‐efficacy in reporting suspected child abuse and neglect. Aim: To determine the incidence of pressure injuries from medical devices in children. Background: Medical devices can cause pressure injuries on skin and soft tissues. Design: A prospective, descriptive study adhering to STROBE guidelines. Methods: This study was conducted in the third‐level Paediatric Intensive Care Unit of Ege University Hospital in İzmir, Türkiye between April 2019 and October 2019 in Türkiye. Patients aged between 1 month and 18 years with medical devices were observed for pressure injuries using Braden scales and a specific monitoring form. Results: In this study, we followed 522 medical devices applied to 96 patients. The three most commonly used medical devices were the ECG probe (21%), the blood pressure cuff (16%) and the saturation probe. Out of the 522 medical devices followed, 36 caused pressure injuries (6.8%). Conclusion: The incidence of medical device‐related pressure injuries was found to be high. Effective training and implementation strategies need to be devised for paediatric nurses to prevent pressure injuries associated with medical devices. Relevance to Clinical Practice: The results of this study reveal that pressure injuries related to medical devices are an important health problem in paediatric hospitals. Aim: To examine the effects of spousal support and parent–nurse partnership on caregiver burden of parents of children with chronic disease. Background: With the trend of increasing the global number of children with chronic diseases, the parental caregiver burden has become increasingly prevalent. Design: Cross‐sectional study. Methods: The study participants included 115 parents of children diagnosed with chronic disease at a general hospital in South Korea. The study duration was 4 June 2021–30 April 2022. Self‐reported measures included the parent–nurse partnership scale, the Korean version of the Parenting Alliance Inventory and the family caregiver burden scale. T‐tests, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients and hierarchical linear multiple regression were conducted using IBM SPSS version 26.0. This study followed STROBE guideline. Results: Parental caregiver burden was significantly negatively associated with spousal support and parent–nurse partnership. Factors significantly influencing caregiver burden were parental alcohol consumption; child's inherited metabolic disease, cardiovascular disease, disease relating to haematological tumours or kidney disease diagnosis; child's health perceived as poor by parents; child's dependency perceived as high by parents; hospitalization recency; and low spousal support. These factors accounted for 65% of caregiver burden. Conclusion: Parental caregiver burden was related to spousal support and parent–nurse partnership, but the primary factor affecting caregiver burden was spousal support. Relevance to clinical practice: The results highlighted the role of healthcare professionals in educating parents of children with chronic diseases to facilitate spousal support and have implications for nursing and community‐based interventions to reduce parental caregiver burden. Furthermore, they underlined that policymakers and other stakeholders should pay attention to the parental caregiver burden through government‐based, family‐centered strategies. Background and Purpose: Research on the childcare experiences of visually impaired mothers and their expectations from nurses in this context is relatively scarce. This study aims to explore the experiences of visually impaired mothers in caring for their children, as well as their expectations from nurses during this process. The goal is to provide strategic recommendations for nurses based on these expectations. Methods: The study utilized a phenomenological design and employed a qualitative methodology. Data for this study were collected in six different provinces of Turkey between March 2019 and May 2020. The study group consisted of 25 visually impaired mothers with nondisabled children aged 0–18 years. Results: The analysis yielded four themes: "Postpartum Emotions and Care at 0–1 Years," "Hygienic Care of the Child," "Experiences in the Child's Illness," and "Nursing Support: Expectations of Visually Impaired Mothers." While the first three themes are associated with childcare, the fourth theme encompasses both the expectations from nurses and recommendations for visually impaired mothers. The study found that visually impaired mothers had unique experiences and either received assistance or developed childcare strategies. However, it was observed that nurses struggled to empathize with visually impaired mothers, and efforts to address their specific needs were limited. Implications for Practice: Pediatric nurses should develop methods to facilitate childcare for visually impaired mothers. Background: Despite the challenge of nursing shortage in the world and its subsequent impact on care quality as well as aggravation of the situation by intention to leave service, this issue has not been properly addressed, especially among neonatal and pediatric nurses. The present study aims to identify the relationship between mental workload and musculoskeletal disorders with intention to leave the service among nurses working at neonatal and pediatric departments. Methods: This descriptive-analytical study was conducted on 145 nurses working at neonatal and pediatric departments in six hospitals in Bushehr Province using full-census method. The data were collected using national aeronautics and space administration-task load index (NASA-TLX), Cornell musculoskeletal discomfort questionnaire(CMDQ) and Mobley and Horner's voluntary turnover questionnaire. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, independent t-test, Mann-Whitney U test, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), Kruskal-Wallis test, Pearson's and Spearman correlation tests and hierarchical linear regression in simultaneous model in SPSS 19.0. Results: The mean score of intention to leave the service was 9.57 ± 3.20 (higher than the moderate level) and the mean mental workload was 71.65 ± 15.14 (high level). Pain in at least one of the legs (100%), back (77.3%) and knees (76.6%) was highly prevalent. However, no statistically significant correlation was found between musculoskeletal disorder categories and intention to leave the service (p > 0.05). The regression analysis results revealed among mental workload domains, only effort-induced workload was negatively and significantly correlated with intention to leave the service (p = 0.003; β=-0.078). However, the number of night shifts per month was positively and significantly correlated with intention to leave the service (p = 0.001; β = 0.176). Conclusions: Planning for appropriate allocation of night shifts, investigating the etiology of musculoskeletal disorders and providing solutions for reducing mental workload should be prioritized by policymakers, while maintaining pediatric nurses' motivation for making efforts. This phenomenological qualitative study examined the lived experience of pediatric nurse residents' transition to practice during the COVID-19 pandemic. The purposive sample included nine pediatric nurses, participating in a nurse residency program, who entered the nursing profession during the first year of the pandemic. The setting was a free-standing, Magnet-recognized, pediatric academic medical center in the Northeastern U.S. Individual interviews were audio recorded and transcribed. Narratives were analyzed using a hermeneutic phenomenological approach. Five themes emerged from the data: Our New Normal; The Rules Keep Changing; I'm Not Ready for This (transition to practice); The Toll of COVID; and Shattered Family-Centered Care. Sub-themes emerged in The Toll of COVID theme: COVID and the Nursing Care Environment, Emotional Toll of COVID, Burnout: A Universal Truth, and The Pandemic within the Pandemic. The nurse residents' narratives uncovered the essence of their uncertainty, sorrow, growth, and resilience. Background: Nurses often face ethical issues in their daily work that can have an impact on their level of job embeddedness. And positive job embeddedness is essential to reduce burnout among nurses and improve professional retention in the medical industry. However, few studies have focused on the relationship between moral distress, moral resilience, and job embeddedness. Objectives: To investigate the relationship between moral distress, moral resilience, and job embeddedness, and explore the mediating role of moral resilience between moral distress and job embeddedness among nurses. Design: A quantitative, cross-sectional study. Methods: Nurses from a number of tertiary general hospitals in central China were surveyed and assessed using the Moral Distress Scale, the Nurse Moral Resilience Scale, and the nurse job embeddedness Scale from February to March 2023. The study was conducted in line with the 1964 Declaration of Helsinki. Ethical consideration: All study procedures were approved by the Ethics Committee of Hunan Normal University (No. 2023-313). Findings: Moral distress was positively correlated with moral resilience (β = 0.525, p < 0.01) and negatively correlated job embeddedness (β = −0.470, p < 0.01). Moral resilience partially mediated the relationship between moral distress with job embeddedness (β = −0.087, p < 0.01). Discussion: The findings reveal a relationship between moral distress, job embeddedness, and moral resilience among nurses. Conclusion: Moral distress and moral resilience are important correlates of job embeddedness in nurses. Interventions to reduce moral distress and increase moral resilience may have potential benefits for improving nurses' job embeddedness. It is recommended that clinical nursing administrators create a favorable ethical atmosphere, educate nurses about ethics, and increase nurses' moral resilience. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

AIM: The objective of this study was to adapt the pediatric nurse parent partnership scale into Turkish and assess its validity and reliability. METHODS: A methodological and correlational research methodology was employed. The study was performed with 348 pediatric nurses between January and March 2023. Data collection measures were a "Personal Information Form" and the "Pediatric Nurse Parent Partnership Scale." Content and structure validity, internal consistency, and item analysis methods were utilized to establish the validity and reliability of the measure. RESULTS: The adapted measure was found to have 19 items, explaining 71.60% of the total variance, and a four-sub-dimensional structure. According to the explanatory factor analysis findings, factor loads varied from 0.509 to 0.854, and item--total score correlation values of 0.509-0.750 were obtained. The goodness of fit indices obtained from the confirmatory factor analysis were CMIN/DF = 3.845, GFI = 0.87, CFI = 0.92, NFI = 0.89, TLI = 0.90, and RMSEA = 0.091. The confirmatory factor analysis of the four-factor measure structure showed that these index figures were acceptable. Cronbach's α was 0.939 for the total scale and varied from 0.845--0.893 for the sub-dimensions. CONCLUSION: The Pediatric Nurse Parent Partnership Scale was an effective and trustworthy measure that could be used in the Turkish sample to evaluate the partnerships reported by pediatric nurses and parents in the field. Background: An important first step in enhancing professional palliative care training is to investigate the educational needs of pediatric clinicians in this field. The aims of this research were to analyze the extent of end-of-life care experience of Chinese pediatric clinicians and identify the differing educational needs of physicians and nurses as well as associated impact factors. Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive survey via a structural questionnaire was used in this research. Results: In total, 187 clinicians, comprising 52 physicians and 135 nurses, participated in this study. The topics "pain management", "symptom management", and "discussing the prognosis with family members" were the most expressed educational needs among both physicians and nurses. Compared to nurses, physicians placed greater emphasis on the importance of "communication" and "pain and symptom management" (p < 0.05). Clinicians with more extensive end-of-life care experience more strongly felt the importance of learning about pain management and communication regarding end-of-life care (p < 0.05). Conclusions: Research showed that the education currently provided to pediatric clinicians does not meet their distinctive needs. Future palliative care education must be a continuing multi-level, interdisciplinary program and different education should be provided to physicians and nurses based on their respective needs. Introduction: Premature infants require specialized care, and nurses need to have specific skills and knowledge to provide this care effectively. Objective: To evaluate the impact of an on-the-job training program on the improvement of nurses' knowledge and practice related to creation of a healing environment and clustering nursing procedures. Methods: From January to April 2022, a study utilizing a one-group pre- and post-test design was conducted at NICUs in governmental hospitals. The study participants involved 80 nurses working in these NICUs. Researchers used predesigned questionnaire and checklist practice to collect the data pre and post the intervention. Results: 37.5% of the participants were aged between 25 and less than 30 years, with a mean age of 28.99 ± 7.43 years. Additionally, 73.7% of the nurses were female, with a mean experience of 9.45 ± 3.87 years. Prior to the intervention, the study found that a majority of the nurses (62.4%) demonstrated poor knowledge. However, after the intervention, a significant improvement was observed, with 60.0% of the nurses demonstrated good knowledge. Likewise, prior to the intervention, the study revealed that the majority of the nurses (83.8%) exhibited incompetent practice. However, post-intervention, a substantial improvement was observed, with 81.3% of the nurses demonstrated competent practice. Conclusion: On-the-job training had significant improvements in nurses' knowledge and practices regarding applying healing environments and clustering nursing care. On-the-job training is suggested as an adaptable, effective and low-cost technique to train nurses. Background: Painful procedures are common in the hospital setting. Limited research has been conducted on the use and effectiveness of patient/caregiver-selected techniques to help manage pain during procedures. This study explored the effect of using a Comfort Menu tool for needlestick procedures on patients' and/or caregivers' perceptions and experience of pain, and nurses' perceptions of its benefits and ease of use. Methods: This randomized correlational study included the Wong-Baker FACES® Pain Rating Scale, the FLACC Behavioral Pain Assessment Scale, and two postprocedural surveys. Participants included 100 hospitalized children aged 0 to 18 years and/or their caregivers (50 in the experimental group provided with the Comfort Menu and 50 members in the control group provided with standard care), and 47 nurses. Results: A significant difference was found between the experimental and control groups (p = 0.0100), with those in the experimental group reporting less severe pain than control group participants. All patients and/or caregivers indicated the Comfort Menu was easy to use; 98.04% reported it made being part of their or their child's care better, and 96.08% reported it reduced their or their child's perception of pain. All 47 nurses responded favorably to the use of the Comfort Menu. Conclusion: Using the Comfort Menu improved patient and family involvement, pain perception, and the procedure experience. Findings suggest the Comfort Menu should be part of the standard pain management protocol as hospitals seek better ways to manage pain and to provide patient-and-family centered care. Pediatric nurses are key members in providing health care to children. Emotional intelligence plays an important role in healthcare and healthcare education, and higher emotional intelligence is associated with more compassionate and empathetic patient care, higher knowledge and skills, and better teamwork. This research is a predictive correlation study which was conducted in 2022 on 236 nurses working in pediatric wards. In this study, SPSS22 and AMOS26 and path analysis statistical method were used for data analysis. The results of this study showed that the professional quality of life with caring behaviors in nurses working in pediatric ward (β = 0.339, p <.001) and the professional quality of life with emotional intelligence in nurses working in pediatric ward (β = 0.175 , p =.002) and emotional intelligence correlated with care behaviors in nurses working in the pediatric ward (β = 0.306, p =.001). The ability to explain the final model is 18%. The results of this study showed that having a higher professional quality of life in pediatric nurses, in addition to being effective on the mental health of nurses, can also affect caring behaviors. Pediatric nurses with a higher level of compassion satisfaction and less burnout can have empathic behaviors and more effective communication with the child and its parents as a whole unit of care and provide more humanistic care that is required to care for a sick child. Background: Retinopathy of Prematurity is a multi-factorial preventive cause of childhood blindness. Using POINTS of care as preventive strategies may be significantly prevent occurrence of retinopathy of premature neonates. The aim of the study was to evaluate nurses' performance regarding points of care for prevention of retinopathy of premature neonates. Subjects and Method: The study design used was descriptive. Setting: It was conducted at Neonatal Intensive Care Units of Tanta Main University Hospital & International Teaching Hospital. Subjects: All nurses (120) who are working in the aforementioned places. Tools: two tools were used: Tool I: Retinopathy Structured Interview Questionnaire, Tool II: POINTS of Care Observational Checklists. Results: nearly three quarters of the nurses had low level of overall knowledge about retinopathy of prematurity and POINTS of care. More than half of the nurses had unsatisfactory practice regarding POINTS of care. Conclusion: Nurses had low level of knowledge & unsatisfactory practice about retinopathy of prematurity and POINTS of care. Recommendations: Designing a training course for neonatal nurses concerning retinopathy of prematurity. Aims: Missed nursing care (MNC) significantly affects patient safety and quality of care. It is a widely used concept that has been studied in different settings, but research in paediatric care is quite limited. Therefore, this descriptive cross‐sectional study aimed to report the prevalence, patterns, correlates, factors and predictors of MNC in paediatric care units in two central European countries. Design: A cross‐sectional comparative study. Methods: Data collection was carried out between June and November 2021 using the MISSCARE Survey‐Pediatric. The study included 441 registered nurses working in paediatric care units in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Data were analysed using descriptive and inferential statistics in the SPSS 25.0 statistical program. Results: Almost all nurses, 92.7% of nurses missed at least one nursing activity during the last shift. The most missed care activity in both countries was the promotion of neuroevolutionary development, and the most prominent reasons were labour resources. MNC was weakly but significantly correlated with nurse experience in the current position and was predicted by the country, nurse education and overtime hours (p ≤.05). Differences in prevalence of MNC and reasons for MNC were identified based on several variables (p ≤.05). Conclusion: The assessment of MNC in paediatric settings is often a neglected area, although the prevalence in this study was moderate. Implications for the Profession and/or Patient Care: Nurse staff shortages, as a global problem, have many impacts on patient outcomes in the delivery of nursing care. However, there are also many factors that can reduce the prevalence of MNC. More research should focus on a closer examination of these factors that involve hospital and nurse variables. Aim: Although infant- and family-centered developmental care (IFCDC) is scientifically grounded and offered in many hospitals to some extent, it has not yet been universally implemented as the standard of care. In this article, we aim to identify barriers to the implementation of IFCDC in Belgian neonatal care from the perspective of neonatal care providers. Methods:We conducted 8 online focus groups with 40 healthcare providers working in neonatal care services. An inductive thematic analysis was carried out by means of Nvivo. Results: The focus groups revealed barriers related to contextual, hospital, and neonatal unit characteristics. Barriers found in the hospital and neonatal unit were related to financing, staffing, infrastructure, access to knowledge/information and learning climate, leadership engagement, and relative priority of IFCDC. Contextual barriers were related to peer pressure and partnerships, newborn/parent needs and resources, external policy, and budgetary incentives. Conclusion: Three main barriers to IFCDC implementation have been identified. Resources (staffing, financing, and infrastructure) must be available and aligned with IFCDC standards, knowledge and information have to be accessible and continuously updated, and hospital management should support IFCDC implementation to create an enabling climate, including compatibility with the existing workflow, learning opportunities, and priority setting. Background: Due to stigma and mistreatment, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer/questioning (LGBTQ) patients and their families often face barriers to accessing and receiving equitable health care. Pediatric settings are not immune to this health inequity, yet there is limited literature to address it with pediatric nurses. Method: An evidence-based education program on the care of LGBTQ patients was delivered electronically to pediatric nurses. Using a pre- and posttest design, knowledge and attitudes regarding care of LGBTQ patients were collected via online questionnaires. Results: Knowledge significantly increased from pre- to posttest (p =.02). Attitudes related to LGBTQ concepts either remained consistently positive or shifted in the positive direction. Conclusion: Providing education regarding LGBTQ patients to pediatric nurses can improve related knowledge and attitudes. Expansion of evidence-based LGBTQ education to pediatric nurses is likely to contribute to lessening the health care barriers and inequities faced by these patients and their families. Anaphylaxis is a vital systemic allergic reaction. A rapid diagnosis of anaphylaxis is lifesaving. In most cases, nurses are the first to encounter and intervene in anaphylaxis. Therefore, they have a vital responsibility in such cases. The aim of this study is to create a questionnaire and evaluate the anaphylaxis knowledge levels of pediatric nurses. This is a descriptive type of study. The study took place in Turkey. 80 pediatric nurses who work in pediatric intensive care, neonatal intensive care, child service, and pediatric emergency service participated in the study. The sociodemographic data collection form and the anaphylaxis knowledge level assessment form was used for the study. ANOVA and t-test are used to evaluate the data. The average anaphylaxis knowledge score of the pediatric nurses was found 12.61 ± 2.61, therefore it's moderate. The reliability of the questionnaire was high. Knowledge levels were moderately sufficient in diagnoses and insufficient in treatment and follow-up. Considering how critical anaphylaxis is, the moderately sufficient and insufficient knowledge levels are not substantial and should be increased advancedly. The questionnaire created for this study can be used in future studies. Health institutions should plan training regarding anaphylaxis and recompose anaphylaxis training in general, elaborate treatment and follow-up, and assess pediatric nurses' knowledge periodically. Post-traumatic stress disorder symptoms related to work in pediatric departments aremajor public health problems, as they directly affect health organizations, healthcare workers, and, due to the poor quality of care, the patients as well. The post-traumatic symptoms that a healthcare worker may experience are related to intrusion, avoidance, negative changes in cognition and mood, and changes in arousal and reactivity. The aim of the present investigation was to identify risk factors that contribute to the development of PTSD in pediatric healthcare workers, in order to implement necessary workplace measures. A sample of four hundred and forty-five pediatric workers at seven Greek public hospitals consented to participate in the survey. Socio-demographic data and a post-traumatic checklist (5th edition) were used to diagnose post-traumatic stress disorder. According to the results, risk factors for the development of post-traumatic symptoms include medical or nursing errors, threats to a child's life, and incidents of workplace bullying. More specifically, 25.2% of the participants had a provisional PTSD diagnosis, 72.8%of the sample experienced an incident involving a medical or nursing error in their workplace related to the treatment or care of a child, 56% experienced an incident involving a child's death or a threat to a child's life due to a serious illness or injury, and 55.5% experienced an incident of workplace bullying. In addition, it was found that having a university-level education, master's, or PhD, working in a circular shift, being assigned to a department by management rather than the worker, and dissatisfaction with salary were associated with post-traumatic stress disorder. The high rates of PTSD symptoms among participants highlight the need for prevention and management measures to protect and support the mental health of workers in pediatric departments. We propose frequent evaluations of the mental health of employees, more time for rest, incentives for professional development, utilization of their specializations and specialties, support from mental health specialists when symptoms are diagnosed, and the option for employees to change departments if they wish or if they show symptoms of mental trauma. Background: Our knowledge about the attitudes of healthcare staff to palliative care in pediatric oncology is scarce. We aimed to assess their perceptions of palliative care in Hungary and find answers to the question of how to provide good palliative care for children. Method: Physicians (n = 30) and nurses (n = 43) working in the field of pediatric oncology (12 of them specialized in hospice care) were interviewed. Palliative care practice (communication, integration of palliative care, professionals' feelings and attitudes, and opportunities for improvement) was assessed by semi-structured interviews evaluated in a mixed quantitative and qualitative way by narrative categorical content analysis and thematic analysis. Results: All providers displayed high negative emotions, positive evaluations, and used many active verbs. Nurses showed higher levels of denial, more self-references, and were more likely to highlight loss. Physicians emphasized the importance of communication regarding adequate or inadequate palliative care. Hospice specialists showed a higher passive verb rate, a lower self-reference, a lower need for psychological support, and a greater emphasis on teamwork and professional aspects. Conclusion: Our results show that nurses are more emotionally stressed than doctors in palliative care in pediatric oncology. To our knowledge, a study comparing doctors and nurses in this field has yet to be carried out. Our results suggest that pediatric oncological staff can positively evaluate a child's palliative care despite the emotional strain. Background: The establishment of paediatric hospices improves the quality of care of paediatric nurses. Aim: To examine the effect of establishing paediatric hospices on the quality of care of paediatric nurses. Methods: Data was collected between 22 October 2022 and 25 February 2023. An online survey method was used to collect sociodemographic data and paediatric hospice data for paediatric nurses and a scale was used to determine the opinions of nurses working in the field of paediatrics. A total of 300 paediatric nurses who voluntarily participated in the collection of the research data were selected with the convenience sampling method, with written consent. SPSS 26.0 data analysis programme was used in the statistical analysis of the data obtained in the study, and Independent Sample t-test and ANOVA analysis were used in the analysis of the data. Findings: Of the participating paediatric nurses, 60.9% were women, 39.1% were men, 41.1% were married, 65.9% were between the ages of 22–33, and 71.6% worked at a paediatric hospice. There was no significant difference in paediatric hospice scale scores according to sociodemographic variables such as gender, age, marital status, education level and the health institution worked by paediatric nurses (p>.05). There was a significant difference in paediatric hospice scale scores according to hospice information. It was determined that the establishment of paediatric hospices had an effect on the quality of care (p<.01). Conclusion: Paediatric nurses felt that the establishment of paediatric hospices would improve the quality of care of children at the end of life. It is recommended that applications and studies on the establishment and structuring of paediatric hospices should be carried out by expanding the samples, not only in the field of paediatric nursing, but also in all nursing fields. Purpose: This study aimed to assess the status of patient safety culture among pediatric nurses in a Saudi Arabian hospital. Methods: The study employed a descriptive cross-sectional design with non-random assignment and included a convenience sample of 138 nurses who provided direct patient care across different general and specialty pediatric clinical settings. Data were collected using an anonymous, self-structured questionnaire that adopted a Survey on Patient Safety Culture™ (SOPS™). Results: The overall percentage of positive responses for the 12 patient safety culture dimensions and across 42 items was 59.2%. Furthermore, 61% of nurses reported no safety events, and 33.3% reported one to two events over the past 12 months. Conclusions: The overall percentage of positive response scores was lower than the international scores and higher than the regional benchmark scores. Clinical Relevance: Present findings should be considered by pediatric hospital management to make efforts tailored to improve the dimensions of patient safety culture in "hospital handoffs and transitions," "communication openness," and "supervisor/manager expectations and actions promoting safety." In addition, the Saudi Patient Safety Center and nursing management can use these data with a detailed understanding of the current patient safety culture in pediatric units to strengthen safe practices within health care hospitals in Saudi Arabia. During the COVID-19 pandemic, numerous studies have shown the high prevalence of occupational stress (OS) of health workers, affecting the quality of health care provided. To date, there is no study regarding OS of emergency care pediatric nurses working in Greece. This study aimed to examine the pediatric nurses' OS working in tertiary public hospitals in Greece. In this cross-sectional study, a total of 104 pediatric nurses were recruited randomly from summer 2020 to summer 2021. The Expanded Nursing Stress Scale (ENSS), which consists of 59 items grouped into nine categories, was used to assess nurses OS. The overall OS mean score was 141.04 (SD = 33.48), indicating mild stress. Among nine categories, pediatric nurses were more stressed about patients and families (mean = 22.83, SD = 5.71), as well as death and dying (mean = 19.33, SD = 5.22), whereas they were less stressed about discrimination (mean = 4.21, SD = 4.09) and problems with peer support (mean = 12.11, SD = 4.58). Sex, age, and shifts did not correlate with OS. Borderline correlation was present between age and inadequate emotional preparation for less experienced nurses (p = 0.047), while higher educated pediatric nurses were more stressed because of workload than lower educated pediatric nurses (p = 0.044). Greek pediatric nurses sufferedmild OS during the COVID-19 pandemic. There is a great need for further research and implementation of supportive sustainable programs aimed to the minimization of OS and the optimization of health care provided during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. Purpose: This study was conducted to examine the reflection of Eric Ericson's psychosocial theory in nursing care in the approach of nurses working in pediatric clinics to patients aged 0-18. Methods: This was a descriptive cross-sectional study. The study was conducted with 30 nurses who were working in pediatric clinics. Results: The nurses stated that it was necessary to perform the following practices while providing care for their patients: "promptly changing the patient's diaper when it gets dirty" in the "trust and mistrust" stage (83.3%); "taking care not to use expressions such as cutting-bleeding" in the "initiative vs. guilt" stage (86.7%). Conclusion: Our findings highlight that nurses working in pediatric clinics should reflect Ericson's psychosocial theory in their care to support the psychosocial development of children. Purpose: This study explores how nursing professionalism impacts the quality of pediatric nursing care. Specifically, we examine the mediating effects of clinical decision making and pediatric nurse-parent partnership among pediatric nurses. Methods: The study involved 133 nurses working in pediatric wards within regions S, C, and D. Data were collected during August 2022 and analyzed using SPSS/WINdows software version 26.0 and PROCESS macro for SPSS version 4.2. Results: The double mediating effect of clinical decision making and the pediatric nurse-parent on the relationship between nursing professionalism and the quality of pediatric nursing care was statistically significant. Conclusion: Improving nursing professionalism, enhancing clinical decision making, and strengthening the pediatric nurse-parent partnership are valuable strategies for enhancing the quality of pediatric nursing care among such nurses. Background: Intensive care units (ICUs) are often too noisy, exceeding 70–80 dBA, which can have negative effects on staff. The corresponding recommendation of the World Health Organization (average sound pressure level below 35 dBA) is often not achieved. To date there is a lack of intervention studies examining the extent to which unit-based noise management in ICUs contributes to a reduction in noise exposure for the staff. The study therefore aims to provide answers to 1) how unit-based noise management sustainably reduces the subjective noise exposure among staff, and 2) how this intervention affects other noise-related topics. Methods: We performed a monocentric prospective longitudinal study with three measurement points in a German university hospital in three ICUs. We collected data from different healthcare professionals and other professional groups between October 2021 and August 2022 using an online questionnaire. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inference statistics. Results: A total of n = 179 participants took part in the surveys. The majority of participants were nurses or pediatric nurses. Most participants worked more than 75% full-time equivalent. Staff on the three ICUs reported high levels of noise exposure. No significant changes in noise exposure over time were observed. Participants were already aware of the topic and believed that a behavior change could positively influence the noise environment. Conclusions: This study provides an initial insight into how a unit-based noise management could contribute to a reduction in the subjective noise exposure among staff in ICUs. The results of this study highlight the importance of this topic. Future studies should aim to research aspects of adherence and their facilitators or barriers, which promote the sustained implementation of noise-reducing measures by staff. Background. The purpose of this study was to determine pediatric nurses' knowledge of autism spectrum disorders (ASD). Methods. We conducted a population-based online survey of 273 pediatric nurses in eastern Saudi Arabia using convenience sampling method. Perceived knowledge was assessed using the knowledge of childhood autism among Health Professionals Questionnaire (KCAHW) that was translated into Arabic. We used multivariate regression analysis to determine the influence of demographic factors on the perceived knowledge. Using Pearson's correlation analysis, we assessed the correlation between the outcome variables and the predictor variables. Results. ASD knowledge is generally higher among pediatric nurses with higher academic qualifications (r = 0.29, p < 0.001). They scored higher on general knowledge (M = 21.5, SD = 5.7) and lower on signs and symptoms (M = 15.2, SD = 4.3), diagnosis (M = 13.8, SD = 3.9), and management of ASD (M = 12.4, SD = 4.1). A significant correlation was found between mean KCAHW and age (r = 0.12, p = 0.029), sex (r = 0.18, p = 0.003), years of experience (r = 0.25, p < 0.001), education level (r = 0.34, p < 0.001), and hospital type (r = 0.21, p = 0.001). Predictors of knowledge and understanding were level of education (β = 0.23, p = 0.001), formal training (β = 0.16, p = 0.012), and years of experience (β = 0.19, p = 0.005). The majority could not define ASD or recognize early signs and symptoms or associated comorbidities. Lack of social and emotional reciprocity and impaired language development have been reported, as well as the perception of ASD as a neurodevelopmental disorder. Conclusion. Higher academic qualifications are associated with high general knowledge of ASD; however, nurses in this cohort performed poorly in ASD sign and symptom recognition, diagnosis, and management. Purpose: This study aimed to identify the mediating effects of communication skills and pediatric nurse-parent partnership on the relationship between emotional intelligence and job satisfaction among pediatric nurses. Methods: A survey was administered to 205 pediatric nurses working in children's, general, and tertiary hospitals situated in Chungcheong province and Seoul. Data were collected in August and September 2022. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS Statistics version 26.0 along with the PROCESS macro program. Results: Emotional intelligence had a significant effect, and was a critical factor affecting the job satisfaction of pediatric nurses. Furthermore, communication skills and nurse-parent partnership had a serial double mediating effect. Conclusion: These findings underscore the significance of conducting job satisfaction improvement programs, including strategies for augmenting emotional intelligence, bolstering communication skills, and fostering nurse-parent partnership. Aim. This research study aims to investigate the professional quality of life (ProQOL) among pediatric registered nurses. Background. Professional quality of life encapsulates two fundamental components, namely, compassion satisfaction and compassion fatigue, which comprises burnout and secondary traumatic stress. Methods. A descriptive cross-sectional design was used in this study, which included 217 pediatric registered nurses. Self-administered questionnaires compiled sociodemographic and occupational characteristics before measuring Professional quality of life (Version 5) items were used to collect data. Results. Most respondents were 30 to 35 years of age (65%), female (99%), and hold a diploma certificate (63%). The ProQOL scores for compassion satisfaction was 35.9 (SD = 9.7), compassion fatigue (burnout) was 21.8 (SD = 9.64), and compassion fatigue (secondary traumatic stress) was 23.5 (SD = 9.7). A significant mean difference (p < 0.001) were found in the ProQOL level based on environmental factors related to pediatrics and family. Conclusion. The results of this study show a moderate compassion satisfaction level, a low burnout level, and a moderate secondary traumatic stress level among pediatric registered nurses. Different related environmental factors that can impact the professional quality of life of pediatric registered nurses. Implications for Nursing Management. Pediatric nurses will benefit from a supportive work environment, which fosters collaboration and respect among nurses and their pediatric patients' families to improve the health outcomes of pediatric patients. Hospitals should offer specialized training programs that address the unique needs of pediatric nursing, encompassing areas such as child development, communication techniques with children, and age-specific healthcare interventions. This will equip nurses with the necessary skills and knowledge to provide optimal care for pediatric patients. Also, the following support systems, such as regular debriefing sessions and counseling services, are established to help nurses cope with the emotional challenges they may encounter in their work and to foster a collaborative work environment that encourages effective teamwork among nurses and promotes positive relationships between nurses and the families of pediatric patients. This can be achieved by implementing interdisciplinary team approaches, regular team meetings, and open communication channels. In addition, to ensure that pediatric nurses have access to the necessary resources, such as up-to-date medical literature, technological tools, and equipment, to provide the best care possible. Aim: To explore the experiences of neonatal and NICU nurses on participating in evidence‐based changes in their neonatal pain management practice. Design: It is a qualitative conventional content analysis. Methods: A purposive sample with nurses working in neonatal and NICUs was used. The data were collected through 11 semi‐structured in‐depth individual interviews, five focused group discussions, and observations and analyzed using the conventional content analysis method based on the Elo and Kyngäs model. The COREQ checklist was used for writing the report. Results: Analysis of gathered data led to the emergence of four themes, including 'being in a supportive and encouraging atmosphere', 'a journey from resistance to adherence', 'achieving multi‐dimensional improvements', and 'facing obstructive challenges'. Background: Pain assessment in the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) is complex, specifically for children receiving mechanical ventilation who require neuromuscular blockade (NMB). No valid pain assessment method exists for this population. Guidelines are limited to using physiologic variables; it remains unknown how nurses are assessing and managing pain for this population in practice. Objectives: To describe how PICU nurses are assessing and managing pain for children who require NMB. Methods: A cross-sectional quantitative design was used with an electronic survey. Nurses were asked to respond to 4 written vignettes depicting a child who required NMB and had a painful procedure, physiologic cues, both, or neither. Results: A total of 107 PICU nurses answered the survey. Nurses primarily used behavioral assessment scales (61.0%) to assess the child's pain. All nurses reported that physiologic variables are either moderately or extremely important, and 27.3% of nurses used the phrase "assume pain present" formally at their organization. When physiologic cues were present, the odds of a nurse intervening with a pain intervention were 23.3 times (95% CI, 11.39-53.92; P <.001) higher than when such cues were absent. Conclusions: These results demonstrate variation in how nurses assess pain for a child who requires NMB. The focus remains on behavioral assessment scales, which are not valid for this population. When intervening with a pain intervention, nurses relied on physiologic variables. Background and Purpose: Family-centered care (FCC) is a philosophy of care that applies to all areas of pediatric nursing and is a key component of the care model for patient safety and management activities in the medical environment of hospitalized children. The aim of this study was to translate and evaluate the psychometric properties of the Korean version of the Family-Centered Care Questionnaire — Revised (FCCQ-R). Methods: A total of 239 questionnaires were completed by pediatric nurses at four consenting general hospitals. Results: Fourteen items were removed from the original questionnaire through exploratory factor analysis and nine subscales were reduced to five. The factor loadings of the 30 items on the five subscales ranged from 0.50–0.80. The model of the Korean version of the questionnaire was validated by an exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis. Reliability analysis for internal consistency showed an acceptable to high Cronbach's α of 0.96 in total and the subscales ranged from 0.59–0.92. Conclusions: This study verified the validity and reliability of the tool to measure the perception of FCC. Future research will need to correlate FCC with more relevant measures, such as the nurse–parent partnership measure tool, to confirm predictive and concurrent validity. Background and Purpose: Recent studies have demonstrated the adverse effects that moral distress experienced by nurses has on nurses, patients, and the healthcare system. This study aims to analyze the validity and reliability of the Turkish version of the Moral Distress Scale-Revised (MDS-R, pediatric). Methods: This study was conducted with 210 pediatric nurses. Results: Explanatory factor analysis was conducted, and a five-factor structure emerged. The Cronbach's α value of the scale was found to be 0.865, and the correlation-based item analysis showed that the values were within the acceptable range, and the discrimination of the items was adequate. Conclusions: Analyses conducted revealed that the Turkish version of the MDS-R (pediatric), consisting of 21 items and five subdimensions, is a valid and reliable measurement tool for the Turkish culture and language. Background: Education for parents and caregivers of children with cancer is one of the fundamental roles of nurses to avoid complications, provide quality care, promote adherence to treatment and maintain basic standards of care. This study aimed to design educational material for parents and caregivers of children with cancer in Peru on general information about childhood cancer and its care. Method: Within the framework of the WHO Global Initiative for Childhood Cancer in Peru, a multicenter working group was convened by the Peruvian Ministry of Health. A comprehensive needs assessment of parents and caregivers of children with cancer was performed through a survey in June and July 2020. The survey was conducted online (via Google Forms) and in person at nine hospitals to examine the preferred method of delivery and content of information. Results: Based on the findings from the parent needs assessment, a national nursing working group developed Spanish-language audiovisual materials (i.e., diagnosis and treatment videos for nurses to educate parents and caregivers). A total of 365 parents and caregivers were included. Most respondents (56.9%) were parents of children receiving treatment. Main topics were childhood cancer overview and side effects (85%), food and nutrition (75%), and palliative care (67%); most (70.9%) preferred information through talks and videos (64.7%). Twenty-three videos were developed with support by the Pan American Health Organization and the Ministry of Health. Background & Aims The ethical challenges of pediatric nurses in the work environment is inevitable. One of these challenges for nurses is related to euthanasia, which is affected by extensive legal, religious, and cultural issues. This study aims to determine the relationship between ethical reasoning and attitudes towards euthanasia in nurses working in children’s hospitals. Materials & Methods This descriptive-analytical study was conducted on 194 pediatric nurses working in two children’s hospitals affiliated to Tehran University of Medical Sciences. Data were collected electronically and in person using three questionnaires, including a demographic form, the nursing dilemma test (NDT), and the euthanasia attitude survey (EAS). The collected data were analyzed in SPSS software, version 26. Results The mean score of ethical reasoning was 42.92±10.33, and the mean score of EAS was 2.65±0.12. The ethical reasoning score had no significant correlation with age, work experience, sex, marital status, education level, and history of participation in nursing ethics courses, except for the department, which was significantly related to ethical reasoning. The EAS score had no significant correlation with any of the demographic variables, except for the department. The Pearson correlation test results indicated a significant negative correlation between ethical reasoning and attitudes toward euthanasia (r=-0.60, P<0.001). Conclusion The ethical reasoning of pediatric nurses in the study hospitals is at a moderate level, and they have a negative attitude toward euthanasia. The nurses with higher ethical reasoning have a more negative attitude toward euthanasia. Nurses from special care units and emergency departments have lower ethical reasoning but a more positive attitude toward euthanasia. Participation in nursing ethics workshops has no significant relationship with ethical reasoning scores and attitudes toward euthanasia. Based on the findings of this study, it is recommended that comprehensive educational programs should be held to strengthen the ethical reasoning of pediatric nurses and enhance their perception of euthanasia. Aim: The aim of this discursive paper was to describe and expound on how paediatric nurses will be able to address the needs of children and adolescents through the lens of selected Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Rwanda. Design: A discursive analysis of SDGs relating to the roles of paediatric nurses in the context of Rwanda. Methods: A discursive method using SDGs as a guiding framework is used in this paper. We drew on our own experiences and supported them with the available literature. Results: A collection of contextually relevant examples of how paediatric nurses will be able to address the needs of children and adolescents through the lens of selected SDGs in Rwanda was discussed. The selected SDGs expounded on were: no poverty, good health and well‐being, quality of education, decent work and economic growth, reduced inequalities, and partnerships for the goals. Conclusions: There is no doubt that the paediatric nurses in Rwanda play undeniable key roles in attaining SDGs and their targets. Thus, there is a need to train more paediatric nurses with the support of the interdisciplinary partners. Collaboratively, this is possible in the bid to ensure equitable and accessible care to the current and future generations. Background. Trauma is one of the most common causes of death in childhood, but data on severely injured Swiss children are absent from existing national registries. Our aim was to analyze trauma activations and the profiles of critically injured children at a tertiary, non-academic Swiss pediatric emergency department (PED). In the absence of a national pediatric trauma database, this information may help to guide the design of infrastructure, processes within organizations, training, and policies. Methods. A retrospective analysis of pediatric trauma patients in a prospective resuscitation database over a 2-year period. Critically injured trauma patients under the age of 16 years were included. Patients were described with established triage and injury severity scales. Statistical evaluation included logistic regression analysis. Results. A total of 82 patients matched one or more of the study inclusion criteria. The most frequent age group was 12–15 years, and 27% were female. Trauma team activation (TTA) occurred with 49 patients (59.8%). Falls were the most frequent mechanism of injury, both overall and for major trauma. Road-traffic-related injuries had the highest relative risk of major trauma. In the multivariate analysis, patients receiving medicalized transport were more likely to trigger a TTA, but there was no association between TTA and age, gender, or Injury Severity Score (ISS). Nineteen patients (23.2%) sustained major trauma with an ISS > 15. Injuries of Abbreviated Injury Scale severity 3 or greater were most frequent to the head, followed by abdomen, chest, and extremities. The overall mortality rate in the cohort was 2.4%. Conclusions: Major trauma presentations only comprise a small proportion of the total patient load in the PED, and trauma team activation does not correlate with injury severity. Low exposure to high-acuity patients highlights the importance of deliberate learning and simulation for all professionals in the PED. Our findings indicate that high priority should be given to training in the management of severely injured children in the PED. Background: Workplace incivility may directly influence nurses' involvement in patient safety; however, research on this topic in the pediatric setting has yet to be established. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to address the prevalence of workplace incivility in pediatric settings in Saudi Arabia (SA) and examine its impact on patient safety culture. Methods: A cross-sectional study design was used. Surveys, including the Nursing Incivility Scale and Hospital Survey on Patient Safety Culture, were sent to nurses across 6 pediatric units in Taif, SA. Results: A total of 300 nurses completed the surveys. A significant negative modest correlation was found between incivility and patient safety domains (P <.05). A higher stress score was associated with older age (>35 years), Saudi nationality, and subdegree education. Study Aim: To investigate whether use of admission lanyards improves nurse confidence, care coordination, and infant health outcomes during neonatal emergency admissions. Methods: Admission lanyards that defined team roles, tasks, and responsibilities were evaluated in a mixed-methods, historically controlled, and nonrandomized intervention study. Methods included (i) 81 pre- and postintervention surveys to explore nurse confidence, (ii) 8 postintervention semistructured interviews to elicit nurse perceptions of care coordination and nurse confidence, and (iii) a quantitative comparison of infant care coordination and health outcomes for 71 infant admissions before and 72 during the intervention. Results: Nurse participants reported that using lanyards during neonatal admissions improved clarity of roles and responsibilities, communication, and task delegation, contributing to better admission flow, team leadership, accountability, and improved nurse confidence. Care coordination outcomes showed significantly improved time to stabilization for intervention infants. Radiographies for line placement were performed 14.4 minutes faster, and infants commenced intravenous nutrition 27.7 minutes faster from time of admission. Infant health outcomes remained similar between groups. Conclusion: Admission lanyards were associated with improved nurse confidence and care coordination during neonatal emergency admissions, significantly reducing time to stabilization for infants, shifting outcomes closer to the Golden Hour. This study was conducted to evaluate the relationship between lifelong learning perceptions of pediatric nurses and self-confidence and anxiety in clinical decision-making processes. One of the most important ways to adapt to change in the developing and changing health care environment worldwide and in evidence based nursing care is lifelong learning. The most essential characteristics of a lifelong learner are reflection, questioning, enjoying learning, understanding the dynamic nature of knowledge and engaging in learning by actively seeking learning opportunities so that evidence-based nursing care can be achieved. Pediatric nurses were included in this descriptive, correlational and cross‐sectional study. The study was based on pediatric nursing in the pediatric clinics of a hospital in the capital of Turkiye between April and July 2021. It was determined that the mean scores of lifelong learning differed according to gender, education level, length of service in the profession and the unit in which each individual worked, and these differences were statistically significant. Pediatric nurses' lifelong learning level explained the three subdimensions of self‐confidence in clinical decision-making. The results of the regression analysis indicate that lifelong learning levels of the pediatric nurses did not significantly predict their scores on the subdimensions of anxiety with clinical decision‐making scale. Positive effects on clinical decision-making in the nursing process can be achieved if the tendencies of pediatric nurses toward lifelong learning are sufficient. Assessing nurses' lifelong learning perceptions is an essential step toward implementing evidence-based care for pediatric patients. Aims: To investigate the relationships and pathways between workplace bullying, workplace spirituality, and job burnout in Chinese paediatric nurses. Design: A cross‐sectional descriptive survey was conducted with paediatric nurses from six tertiary hospitals in Hubei Province, China. Methods: The study consisted of 402 paediatric nurses. The data were collected using a sociodemographic data questionnaire, Negative Acts Questionnaire‐Revised, Maslach Burnout Inventory‐General Survey and Workplace Spirituality Scale. The model was tested using path analysis techniques within structural equation modelling. Results: Workplace bullying had positive and direct effects on the job burnout of paediatric nurses. Workplace spirituality partially mediated the relationship between workplace bullying and burnout. Patient or Public Contribution: Workplace spirituality may reduce the incidence of work bullying and job burnout in paediatric nurses. Nursing managers need to consider and cultivate the workplace spirituality of paediatric nurses, with the aim of creating a healthy working environment and ensuring the stability of the nursing team.
