Abstract: The article focuses on preprocedural positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) guidance for lung mass cytology. A case report of an old man with unexplained weight loss and cough with chest pain is presented. It says that PET scan with Fluorodeoxyglucose(FDG) helps in representing metabolically active areas and, along with a CT scan demonstrated at the same time, can help localize the area most probably to offer a diagnostic yield during a fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) or biopsy.
