The article presents the findings of 1965, 1969 and 1973 national surveys on curriculum content and offerings in the U.S. Teaching of problem solving has risen from 21% in 1965 to 40% in 1969 and to 51% in 1973. The study of curriculum theories and principles increased from 54% in 1965 and 1969 to 64% in 1973. The exploration of bases for curriculum content increased from 50% in 1965 to 51% in 1969 and to 69% in 1973. Based on the surveys, there is a growing emphasis on individual learning than nationally supported curriculum programs.
