This paper addresses the significant problem of identifying the relevant background and contextual literature related to deep learning (DL) as an evolving technology in order to provide a comprehensive analysis of the application of DL to the specific problem of pneumonia detection via chest X-ray (CXR) imaging, which is the most common and cost-effective imaging technique available worldwide for pneumonia diagnosis. This paper in particular addresses the key period associated with COVID-19, 2020–2023, to explain, analyze, and systematically evaluate the limitations of approaches and determine their relative levels of effectiveness. The context in which DL is applied as both an aid to and an automated substitute for existing expert radiography professionals, who often have limited availability, is elaborated in detail. The rationale for the undertaken research is provided, along with a justification of the resources adopted and their relevance. This explanatory text and the subsequent analyses are intended to provide sufficient detail of the problem being addressed, existing solutions, and the limitations of these, ranging in detail from the specific to the more general. Indeed, our analysis and evaluation agree with the generally held view that the use of transformers, specifically, vision transformers (ViTs), is the most promising technique for obtaining further effective results in the area of pneumonia detection using CXR images. However, ViTs require extensive further research to address several limitations, specifically the following: biased CXR datasets, data and code availability, the ease with which a model can be explained, systematic methods of accurate model comparison, the notion of class imbalance in CXR datasets, and the possibility of adversarial attacks, the latter of which remains an area of fundamental research. Computerized disease detection systems (CDDs) have proven effective for automatic screening in recent years. Among the standard procedures in hospitals for faster and more accurate diagnosis is medical imaging-based disease screening. We aim to develop a CDD that detects COVID-19 using chest X-rays pre-trained vision transformers (PVTs). This scheme includes the following steps: (1) collecting images and resizing them, (2) implementing PVT for feature extraction, and (3) binary classifying the results and validating the proposed schemes. To prove the merit of the developed scheme, 4800 images (2400 normal and 2400 COVID-19) are analyzed. MLP classifiers verify the PVT performance using patch sizes of 6, 12, and 24. A patch size 24 results in 97.5% accuracy for the proposed CDD system. When patch sizes are increased to 12, accuracy increases to over 98%. For this specific task, smaller patch sizes are more effective. These high-accuracy results demonstrate the effectiveness of the developed scheme for detecting COVID-19 in chest X-rays. This study proposes a wrapper‐based technique to improve the classification performance of chest infection (including COVID‐19) detection using X‐rays. Deep features were extracted using pretrained deep learning models. Ten optimization techniques, including poor and rich optimization, path finder algorithm, Henry gas solubility optimization, Harris hawks optimization, atom search optimization, manta‐ray foraging optimization, equilibrium optimizer, slime mold algorithm, generalized normal distribution optimization, and marine predator algorithm, were used to determine the optimal features using a support vector machine. Moreover, a network selection technique was used to select the deep learning models. An online chest infection detection X‐ray scan dataset was used to validate the proposed approach. The results suggest that the proposed wrapper‐based automatic deep learning network selection and feature optimization framework has a high classification rate of 97.7%. The comparative analysis further validates the credibility of the framework in COVID‐19 and other chest infection classifications, suggesting that the proposed approach can help doctors in clinical practice. The coronavirus disease 2019, initially named 2019-nCOV (COVID-19) has been declared a global pandemic by the World Health Organization in March 2020. Because of the growing number of COVID patients, the world's health infrastructure has collapsed, and computer-aided diagnosis has become a necessity. Most of the models proposed for the COVID-19 detection in chest X-rays do image-level analysis. These models do not identify the infected region in the images for an accurate and precise diagnosis. The lesion segmentation will help the medical experts to identify the infected region in the lungs. Therefore, in this paper, a UNet-based encoder–decoder architecture is proposed for the COVID-19 lesion segmentation in chest X-rays. To improve performance, the proposed model employs an attention mechanism and a convolution-based atrous spatial pyramid pooling module. The proposed model obtained 0.8325 and 0.7132 values of the dice similarity coefficient and jaccard index, respectively, and outperformed the state-of-the-art UNet model. Coronavirus, a virus that spread worldwide rapidly and was eventually declared a pandemic. The rapid spread made it essential to detect Coronavirus infected people to control the further spread. Recent studies show that radiological images such as X-Rays and CT scans provide essential information in detecting infection using deep learning models. This paper proposes a shallow architecture based on Capsule Networks with convolutional layers to detect COVID-19 infected persons. The proposed method combines the ability of the capsule network to understand spatial information with convolutional layers for efficient feature extraction. Due to the model's shallow architecture, it has 23M parameters to train and requires fewer training samples. The proposed system is fast and robust and correctly classifies the X-Ray images into three classes, i.e. COVID-19, No Findings, and Viral Pneumonia. Experimental results on the X-Ray dataset show that our model performs well despite having fewer samples for the training and achieved an average accuracy of 96.47% for multi-class and 97.69% for binary classification on 5-fold cross-validation. Coronavirus disease (Covid-19) has recently emerged as a serious public health threat, spreading rapidly worldwide and threatening millions of lives. With an increasing number of cases and mutations, medical resources are being drained daily owing to the rapid transmission of the disease, and the health systems of many countries are negatively affected. Therefore, it is important to use the available resources appropriately and in a timely manner to detect and treat the disease. In this study, VGG16 and ResNet50 deep learning models were used to quickly evaluate x-ray images and perform a prediagnosis of Covid-19, and an alternative model (IsVoNet) was proposed. Following model training, success accuracies of 99.92%, 99.65%, and 99.76% were achieved in the VGG16 model, ResNet50 model, and proposed model, respectively. According to the results, the models classified the Covid-19 and normal lung x-ray images with high accuracy, and the proposed model showed a high success rate at a lower time complexity than the other models. COVID-19 has expanded overall across the globe after its initial cases were discovered in December 2019 in Wuhan—China. Because the virus has impacted people's health worldwide, its fast identification is essential for preventing disease spread and reducing mortality rates. The reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) is the primary leading method for detecting COVID-19 disease; it has high costs and long turnaround times. Hence, quick and easy-to-use innovative diagnostic instruments are required. According to a new study, COVID-19 is linked to discoveries in chest X-ray pictures. The suggested approach includes a stage of pre-processing with lung segmentation, removing the surroundings that do not provide information pertinent to the task and may result in biased results. The InceptionV3 and U-Net deep learning models used in this work process the X-ray photo and classifies them as COVID-19 negative or positive. The CNN model that uses a transfer learning approach was trained. Finally, the findings are analyzed and interpreted through different examples. Objective: COVID‐19 is ravaging the world, but traditional reverse transcription‐polymerase reaction (RT‐PCR) tests are time‐consuming and have a high false‐negative rate and lack of medical equipment. Therefore, lung imaging screening methods are proposed to diagnose COVID‐19 due to its fast test speed. Currently, the commonly used convolutional neural network (CNN) model requires a large number of datasets, and the accuracy of the basic capsule network for multiple classification is limital. For this reason, this paper proposes a novel model based on CNN and CapsNet. Methods: The proposed model integrates CNN and CapsNet. And attention mechanism module and multi‐branch lightweight module are applied to enhance performance. Use the contrast adaptive histogram equalization (CLAHE) algorithm to preprocess the image to enhance image contrast. The preprocessed images are input into the network for training, and ReLU was used as the activation function to adjust the parameters to achieve the optimal. Result: The test dataset includes 1200 X‐ray images (400 COVID‐19, 400 viral pneumonia, and 400 normal), and we replace CNN of VGG16, InceptionV3, Xception, Inception‐Resnet‐v2, ResNet50, DenseNet121, and MoblieNetV2 and integrate with CapsNet. Compared with CapsNet, this network improves 6.96%, 7.83%, 9.37%, 10.47%, and 10.38% in accuracy, area under the curve (AUC), recall, and F1 scores, respectively. In the binary classification experiment, compared with CapsNet, the accuracy, AUC, accuracy, recall rate, and F1 score were increased by 5.33%, 5.34%, 2.88%, 8.00%, and 5.56%, respectively. Coronavirus is considered the first virus to sweep the world in the twenty-first century, it appeared by the end of 2019. It started in the Chinese city of Wuhan and began to spread in different regions around the world too quickly and uncontrollable due to the lack of medical examinations and their inefficiency. So, the process of detecting the disease needs an accurate and quickly detection techniques and tools. The X-Ray images are good and quick in diagnosing the disease, but an automatic and accurate diagnosis is needed. Therefore, this paper presents an automated methodology based on deep learning in diagnosing COVID-19. In this paper, the proposed system is using a convolutional neural network, which is considered one of the mostly prominent techniques used today for its reliability and ability to generate rapid results. The system was trained on a set of X-Ray images taken of the chest area of infected and uninfected people. The CNN structure gave accuracy, Precision, Recall and F-Measure 98%. Putting real-time medical data processing applications into practice comes with some challenges such as scalability and performance. Processing medical images from different collaborators is an example of such applications, in which chest X-ray data are processed to extract knowledge. It is not easy to process data and get the required information in real time using central processing techniques when data get very large in size. In this paper, real-time data are filtered and forwarded to the right processing node by using the proposed topic-based hierarchical publish/subscribe messaging middleware in the distributed scalable network of collaborating computation nodes instead of classical approaches of centralized computation. This enables processing streaming medical data in near real time and makes a warning system possible. End users have the capability of filtering/searching. The returned search results can be images (COVID-19 or non-COVID-19) and their meta-data are gender and age. Several artificial intelligence algorithms have been developed for COVID-19-related topics. One that has been common is the COVID-19 diagnosis using chest X-rays, where the eagerness to obtain early results has triggered the construction of a series of datasets where bias management has not been thorough from the point of view of patient information, capture conditions, class imbalance, and careless mixtures of multiple datasets. This paper analyses 19 datasets of COVID-19 chest X-ray images, identifying potential biases. Moreover, computational experiments were conducted using one of the most popular datasets in this domain, which obtains a 96.19% of classification accuracy on the complete dataset. Nevertheless, when evaluated with the ethical tool Aequitas, it fails on all the metrics. Ethical tools enhanced with some distribution and image quality considerations are the keys to developing or choosing a dataset with fewer bias issues. In this research work, a new deep learning model named VGG-COVIDNet has been proposed which can classify COVID-19 cases from normal cases over X-Rays and CT scan images of lungs. Medical practitioners use the X-Rays and CT scan images of lungs to identify whether a person is infected from COVID or not. In present times, it is very important to give real time COVID prediction with high reliability of results. Deep learning models equipped with machine learning support have been found very influential in accurate prediction of COVID or Non-COVID cases in real time. However, there are some limitations associated with the performance of these model which are model size, achieving good balance of model size and accuracy, and making a single model fitting well for both X-Ray and CT Scan image datasets. Keeping in mind these performance constraints, this new model (VGG-COVIDNet) has been proposed for real time prediction of COVID cases with good balance of model size and accuracy working well for both type of datasets (CT Scan and X-Ray). In order to control model size, an improved version of VGG-16 architecture has been proposed which contains only 13 convolutional layers and 5 fully connected layers. Multiple dropout layers have been added in the proposed architecture which can drop some percentage of features and applies random transformations to decrease the model over-fitting issue. Keeping in mind the primary goal to increase the model accuracy the proposed model has been trained on different datasets with ReLU activation function which is one of the best non-linear activation functions. Four different capacity datasets with CT scan and X-Ray images have been used to validate the performance of proposed model. Automatic COVID-19 detection using chest X-ray (CXR) can play a vital part in large-scale screening and epidemic control. However, the radiographic features of CXR have different composite appearances, for instance, diffuse reticular-nodular opacities and widespread ground-glass opacities. This makes the automatic recognition of COVID-19 using CXR imaging a challenging task. To overcome this issue, we propose a densely attention mechanism-based network (DAM-Net) for COVID-19 detection in CXR. DAM-Net adaptively extracts spatial features of COVID-19 from the infected regions with various appearances and scales. Our proposed DAM-Net is composed of dense layers, channel attention layers, adaptive downsampling layer, and label smoothing regularization loss function. Dense layers extract the spatial features and the channel attention approach adaptively builds up the weights of major feature channels and suppresses the redundant feature representations. We use the cross-entropy loss function based on label smoothing to limit the effect of interclass similarity upon feature representations. The network is trained and tested on the largest publicly available dataset, i.e., COVIDx, consisting of 17,342 CXRs. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed approach obtains state-of-the-art results for COVID-19 classification with an accuracy of 97.22%, a sensitivity of 96.87%, a specificity of 99.12%, and a precision of 95.54%. The Novel Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) is a global pandemic which has a devastating impact. Due to its quick transmission, a prominent challenge in confronting this pandemic is the rapid diagnosis. Currently, the commonly-used diagnosis is the specific molecular tests aided with the medical imaging modalities such as chest X-ray (CXR). However, with the large demand, the diagnoses of CXR are time-consuming and laborious. Deep learning is promising for automatically diagnosing COVID-19 to ease the burden on medical systems. At present, the most applied neural networks are large, which hardly satisfy the rapid yet inexpensive requirements of COVID-19 detection. To reduce huge computation and memory demands, in this paper, we focus on implementing lightweight networks for COVID-19 detection in CXR. Concretely, we first augment data based on clinical visual features of CXR from expertise. Then, according to the fact that all the input data are CXR, we design a targeted four-layer network with either 11 × 11 or 3 × 3 kernels to recognize regional features and detail features. A pruning criterion based on the weights importance is also proposed to further prune the network. COVID-19 had caused the whole world to come to a standstill. The current detection methods are time consuming as well as costly. Using Chest X-rays (CXRs) is a solution to this problem, however, manual examination of CXRs is a cumbersome and difficult process needing specialization in the domain. Most of existing methods used for this application involve the usage of pretrained models such as VGG19, ResNet, DenseNet, Xception, and EfficeintNet which were trained on RGB image datasets. X-rays are fundamentally single channel images, hence using RGB trained model is not appropriate since it increases the operations by involving three channels instead of one. A way of using pretrained model for grayscale images is by replicating the one channel image data to three channel which introduces redundancy and another way is by altering the input layer of pretrained model to take in one channel image data, which comprises the weights in the forward layers that were trained on three channel images which weakens the use of pre-trained weights in a transfer learning approach. A novel approach for identification of COVID-19 using CXRs, Contrast Limited Adaptive Histogram Equalization (CLAHE) along with Homomorphic Transformation Filter which is used to process the pixel data in images and extract features from the CXRs is suggested in this paper. These processed images are then provided as input to a VGG inspired deep Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) model which takes one channel image data as input (grayscale images) to categorize CXRs into three class labels, namely, No-Findings, COVID-19, and Pneumonia. Evaluation of the suggested model is done with the help of two publicly available datasets; one to obtain COVID-19 and No-Finding images and the other to obtain Pneumonia CXRs. The dataset comprises 6750 images in total; 2250 images for each class. Results obtained show that the model has achieved 96.56% for multi-class classification and 98.06% accuracy for binary classification using 5-fold stratified cross validation (CV) method. Early detection of the COVID-19 infection is the key to avoiding fatalities. Chest radiography has proven to be an effective and low-cost solution for detecting the virus. It is important to evaluate the potential of deep learning models for COVID-19 detection from the x-ray images for quick and early detection of COVID-19 with high accuracy. We conducted a study that evaluates the potential and performance of various Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) architectures for detecting the COVID-19 on a dataset consisting of 5902 chest X-ray images having 2276 instances of X-ray images of COVID-19 patients and 3626 images of healthy and non-COVID-19 pneumonia X-rays. The performance of the models is assessed using metrics like accuracy, specificity, sensitivity, F1 Score, ROC curve, etc. The results suggest that the DenseNet-121 model proved to be the better choice among evaluated architectures for COVID-19 detection from X-ray images in terms of overall performance with an accuracy of 98.2%, sensitivity of 97.6%, and specificity of 98.4%. We conclude that there is a need for further evaluation of the CNN architectures on large, real-world, and diverse datasets for obtaining generalizable results for a reliable diagnosis. The novel coronavirus (COVID-19), which emerged as a pandemic, has engulfed so many lives and affected millions of people across the world since December 2019. Although this disease is under control nowadays, yet it is still affecting people in many countries. The traditional way of diagnosis is time taking, less efficient, and has a low rate of detection of this disease. Therefore, there is a need for an automatic system that expedites the diagnosis process while retaining its performance and accuracy. Artificial intelligence (AI) technologies such as machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL) potentially provide powerful solutions to address this problem. In this study, a state-of-the-art CNN model densely connected squeeze convolutional neural network (DCSCNN) has been developed for the classification of X-ray images of COVID-19, pneumonia, normal, and lung opacity patients. Data were collected from different sources. We applied different preprocessing techniques to enhance the quality of images so that our model could learn accurately and give optimal performance. Moreover, the attention regions and decisions of the AI model were visualized using the Grad-CAM and LIME methods. The DCSCNN combines the strength of the Dense and Squeeze networks. In our experiment, seven kinds of classification have been performed, in which six are binary classifications (COVID vs. normal, COVID vs. lung opacity, lung opacity vs. normal, COVID vs. pneumonia, pneumonia vs. lung opacity, pneumonia vs. normal) and one is multiclass classification (COVID vs. pneumonia vs. lung opacity vs. normal). The main contributions of this paper are as follows. First, the development of the DCSNN model which is capable of performing binary classification as well as multiclass classification with excellent classification accuracy. Second, to ensure trust, transparency, and explainability of the model, we applied two popular Explainable AI techniques (XAI). i.e., Grad-CAM and LIME. These techniques helped to address the black-box nature of the model while improving the trust, transparency, and explainability of the model. Our proposed DCSCNN model achieved an accuracy of 98.8% for the classification of COVID-19 vs normal, followed by COVID-19 vs. lung opacity: 98.2%, lung opacity vs. normal: 97.2%, COVID-19 vs. pneumonia: 96.4%, pneumonia vs. lung opacity: 95.8%, pneumonia vs. normal: 97.4%, and lastly for multiclass classification of all the four classes i.e., COVID vs. pneumonia vs. lung opacity vs. normal: 94.7%, respectively. Coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) is a serious infectious disease that is spreading rapidly all over the world. Scientists are looking for alternative diagnostic methods to detect and control the disease early. Artificial intelligence applications are promising in the COVID-19 epidemic. This paper proposes a hybrid approach for diagnosing COVID-19 on chest X-ray images and differentiation from other viral pneumonia. The model we propose consists of three steps. In the first step, classification was made using the MobilenetV2, Efficientnetb0, and Darknet53 deep models. In the second step, the feature maps of the images in the Chest X-ray data set were extracted separately for each architecture using the MobilenetV2, Efficientnetb0, and Darknet53 architectures. NCA method was preferred to reduce the size of these feature maps obtained. The feature maps obtained after dimension reduction were classified in the classic machine learning classifiers. In the third step, the feature maps obtained from each architecture were combined. After dimension reduction was applied to these combined features by applying the NCA method, this feature map is classified in the classifiers. The model we proposed was tested on two different data sets. The accuracy values obtained in these data sets are 99.05 and 97.1%, respectively. The novel coronavirus disease, which originated in Wuhan, developed into a severe public health problem worldwide. Immense stress in the society and health department was advanced due to the multiplying numbers of COVID carriers and deaths. This stress can be lowered by performing a high-speed diagnosis for the disease, which can be a crucial stride for opposing the deadly virus. A good large amount of time is consumed in the diagnosis. Some applications that use medical images like X-Rays or CT-Scans can pace up the time used in diagnosis. Hence, this paper aims to create a computer-aided-design system that will use the chest X-Ray as input and further classify it into one of the three classes, namely COVID-19, viral Pneumonia, and healthy. Since the COVID-19 positive chest X-Rays dataset was low, we have exploited four pre-trained deep neural networks (DNNs) to find the best for this system. The dataset consisted of 2905 images with 219 COVID-19 cases, 1341 healthy cases, and 1345 viral pneumonia cases. Out of these images, the models were evaluated on 30 images of each class for the testing, while the rest of them were used for training. Tuberculosis is an infectious disease with symptoms similar to those of Covid-19, such as fever, cough, and shortness of breath. Based on the existing cases, these two diseases attack the lungs and can affect their shape. Detection of this disease can be done through a chest X-ray. In the X-ray images of Covid-19 and Tuberculosis, both have ground-glass opacity and consolidation, thus classifying the two diseases is tricky if done manually. One method that can be used for classification is Convolutional Neural Network (CNN). The results obtained from this research are the implementation of the CNN algorithm with four convolutions which are convolution - pooling and repeated four times. The best architecture for parameters epoch 50 with the optimizer ADAM, image size 100x100 pixels, kernel size 3x3, and in the data scenario 80%:20%. The results of the level of accuracy of the classification process in the test data are 85.4%. In addition, the labeling prediction obtained is that the Covid-19 label is predicted to be correct with a probability percentage of 95.85%, while the probability percentage for the Tuberculosis label is 98%. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, many works have been published proposing solutions to the problems that arose in this scenario. In this vein, one of the topics that attracted the most attention is the development of computer-based strategies to detect COVID-19 from thoracic medical imaging, such as chest X-ray (CXR) and computerized tomography scan (CT scan). By searching for works already published on this theme, we can easily find thousands of them. This is partly explained by the fact that the most severe worldwide pandemic emerged amid the technological advances recently achieved, and also considering the technical facilities to deal with the large amount of data produced in this context. Even though several of these works describe important advances, we cannot overlook the fact that others only use well-known methods and techniques without a more relevant and critical contribution. Hence, differentiating the works with the most relevant contributions is not a trivial task. The number of citations obtained by a paper is probably the most straightforward and intuitive way to verify its impact on the research community. Aiming to help researchers in this scenario, we present a review of the top-100 most cited papers in this field of investigation according to the Google Scholar search engine. We evaluate the distribution of the top-100 papers taking into account some important aspects, such as the type of medical imaging explored, learning settings, segmentation strategy, explainable artificial intelligence (XAI), and finally, the dataset and code availability. The coronavirus occurred in Wuhan (China) first and it was declared a global pandemic. To detect coronavirus X-ray images can be used. Convolutional neural networks (CNNs) are used commonly to detect illness from images. There can be lots of different alternative deep CNN models or architectures. To find the best architecture, hyper-parameter optimization can be used. In this study, the problem is modeled as a multi-objective optimization (MOO) problem. Objective functions are multi-class cross entropy, error ratio, and complexity of the CNN network. For the best solutions to the objective functions, multi-objective hyper-parameter optimization is made by NSGA-III, NSGA-II, R-NSGA-II, SMS-EMOA, MOEA/D, and proposed Swarm Genetic Algorithms (SGA). SGA is a swarm-based algorithm with a cross-over process. All six algorithms are run and give Pareto optimal solution sets. When the figures obtained from the algorithms are analyzed and algorithm hypervolume values are compared, SGA outperforms the NSGA-III, NSGA-II, R-NSGA-II, SMS-EMOA, and MOEA/D algorithms. It can be concluded that SGA is better than others for multi-objective hyper-parameter optimization algorithms for COVID-19 detection from X-ray images. Background and Motivation: COVID-19 has resulted in a massive loss of life during the last two years. The current imaging-based diagnostic methods for COVID-19 detection in multiclass pneumonia-type chest X-rays are not so successful in clinical practice due to high error rates. Our hypothesis states that if we can have a segmentation-based classification error rate <5%, typically adopted for 510 (K) regulatory purposes, the diagnostic system can be adapted in clinical settings. Method: This study proposes 16 types of segmentation-based classification deep learning-based systems for automatic, rapid, and precise detection of COVID-19. The two deep learning-based segmentation networks, namely UNet and UNet+, along with eight classification models, namely VGG16, VGG19, Xception, InceptionV3, Densenet201, NASNetMobile, Resnet50, and MobileNet, were applied to select the best-suited combination of networks. Using the cross-entropy loss function, the system performance was evaluated by Dice, Jaccard, area-under-the-curve (AUC), and receiver operating characteristics (ROC) and validated using Grad-CAM in explainable AI framework. Results: The best performing segmentation model was UNet, which exhibited the accuracy, loss, Dice, Jaccard, and AUC of 96.35%, 0.15%, 94.88%, 90.38%, and 0.99 (p-value <0.0001), respectively. The best performing segmentation-based classification model was UNet+Xception, which exhibited the accuracy, precision, recall, F1-score, and AUC of 97.45%, 97.46%, 97.45%, 97.43%, and 0.998 (p-value <0.0001), respectively. Our system outperformed existing methods for segmentation-based classification models. The mean improvement of the UNet+Xception system over all the remaining studies was 8.27%. Coronavirus is an infectious disease induced by extreme acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2. Novel coronaviruses can lead to mild to serious symptoms, like tiredness, nausea, fever, dry cough and breathlessness. Coronavirus symptoms are close to influenza, pneumonia and common cold. So Coronavirus can only be confirmed with a diagnostic test. 218 countries and territories worldwide have reported a total of 59.6 million active cases of the COVID-19 and 1.4 million deaths as of November 24, 2020. Rapid, accurate and early medical diagnosis of the disease is vital at this stage. Researchers analyzed the CT and X-ray findings from a large number of patients with coronavirus pneumonia to draw their conclusions. In this paper, we applied Support Vector Machine (SVM) classifier. After that we moved on to deep transfer learning models such as VGG16 and Xception which are implemented using Keras and Tensor flow to detect positive coronavirus patient using X-ray images. Chest X-ray image contains sufficient information that finds wide-spread applications in diverse disease diagnosis and decision making to assist the medical experts. This paper has proposed an intelligent approach to detect Covid-19 from the chest X-ray image using the hybridization of deep convolutional neural network (CNN) and discrete wavelet transform (DWT) features. At first, the X-ray image is enhanced and segmented through preprocessing tasks, and then deep CNN and DWT features are extracted. The optimum features are extracted from these hybridized features through minimum redundancy and maximum relevance (mRMR) along with recursive feature elimination (RFE). Finally, the random forest-based bagging approach is used for doing the detection task. An extensive experiment is performed, and the results confirm that our approach gives satisfactory performance compare to the existing methods with an overall accuracy of more than 98.5%. The rapid spread of COVID-19 across the globe since its emergence has pushed many countries' healthcare systems to the verge of collapse. To restrict the spread of the disease and lessen the ongoing cost on the healthcare system, it is critical to appropriately identify COVID-19-positive individuals and isolate them as soon as possible. The primary COVID-19 screening test, RT-PCR, although accurate and reliable, has a long turn-around time. More recently, various researchers have demonstrated the use of deep learning approaches on chest X-ray (CXR) for COVID-19 detection. However, existing Deep Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) methods fail to capture the global context due to their inherent image-specific inductive bias. In this article, we investigated the use of vision transformers (ViT) for detecting COVID-19 in Chest X-ray (CXR) images. Several ViT models were fine-tuned for the multiclass classification problem (COVID-19, Pneumonia and Normal cases). A dataset consisting of 7598 COVID-19 CXR images, 8552 CXR for healthy patients and 5674 for Pneumonia CXR were used. The obtained results achieved high performance with an Area Under Curve (AUC) of 0.99 for multi-class classification (COVID-19 vs. Other Pneumonia vs. normal). The sensitivity of the COVID-19 class achieved 0.99. We demonstrated that the obtained results outperformed comparable state-of-the-art models for detecting COVID-19 on CXR images using CNN architectures. Due to false negative results of the real-time Reverse Transcriptase-Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) test, the complemental practices such as computed tomography (CT) and X-ray in combination with RT-PCR are discussed to achieve a more accurate diagnosis of COVID-19 in clinical practice. Since radiology includes visual understanding as well as decision making under limited conditions such as uncertainty, urgency, patient burden, and hospital facilities, mistakes are inevitable. Therefore, there is an immediate requirement to carry out further investigation and develop new accurate detection and identification methods to provide automatically quantitative evaluation of COVID-19. In this paper, we propose a new computer-aided diagnosis application for COVID-19 detection using deep learning techniques. A new technique, which receives symmetric X-ray data as the input, is presented in this study by combining Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) with Ant Lion Optimization Algorithm (ALO) and Multiclass Naïve Bayes Classifier (NB). Moreover, several other classifiers such as Softmax, Support Vector Machines (SVM), K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN) and Decision Tree (DT) are combined with CNN. Featured Application: Semi-supervised learning can effectively be used to detect the chest X-rays affected by COVID-19. The advent of the COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in medical resources being stretched to their limits. Chest X-rays are one method of diagnosing COVID-19; they are used due to their high efficacy. However, detecting COVID-19 manually by using these images is time-consuming and expensive. While neural networks can be trained to detect COVID-19, doing so requires large amounts of labeled data, which are expensive to collect and code. One approach is to use semi-supervised neural networks to detect COVID-19 based on a very small number of labeled images. This paper explores how well such an approach could work. The FixMatch algorithm, which is a state-of-the-art semi-supervised classification algorithm, was trained on chest X-rays to detect COVID-19, Viral Pneumonia, Bacterial Pneumonia and Lung Opacity. The model was trained with decreasing levels of labeled data and compared with the best supervised CNN models, using transfer learning. FixMatch was able to achieve a COVID F1-score of 0.94 with only 80 labeled samples per class and an overall macro-average F1-score of 0.68 with only 20 labeled samples per class. Furthermore, an exploratory analysis was conducted to determine the performance of FixMatch to detect COVID-19 when trained with imbalanced data. The results show a predictable drop in performance as compared to training with uniform data; however, a statistical analysis suggests that FixMatch may be somewhat robust to data imbalance, as in many cases, and the same types of mistakes are made when the amount of labeled data is decreased. At the end of 2019, a severe public health threat named coronavirus disease (COVID-19) spread rapidly worldwide. After two years, this coronavirus still spreads at a fast rate. Due to its rapid spread, the immediate and rapid diagnosis of COVID-19 is of utmost importance. In the global fight against this virus, chest X-rays are essential in evaluating infected patients. Thus, various technologies that enable rapid detection of COVID-19 can offer high detection accuracy to health professionals to make the right decisions. The latest emerging deep-learning (DL) technology enhances the power of medical imaging tools by providing high-performance classifiers in X-ray detection, and thus various researchers are trying to use it with limited success. Here, we propose a robust, lightweight network where excellent classification results can diagnose COVID-19 by evaluating chest X-rays. The experimental results showed that the modified architecture of the model we propose achieved very high classification performance in terms of accuracy, precision, recall, and f1-score for four classes (COVID-19, normal, viral pneumonia and lung opacity) of 21.165 chest X-ray images, and at the same time meeting real-time constraints, in a low-power embedded system. The COVID‐19 pandemic has a significant impact on human health globally. The illness is due to the presence of a virus manifesting itself in a widespread disease resulting in a high mortality rate in the whole world. According to the study, infected patients have distinct radiographic visual characteristics as well as dry cough, breathlessness, fever, and other symptoms. Although, the reverse transcription polymerase‐chain reaction (RT‐PCR) test has been used for COVID‐19 testing its reliability is very low. Therefore, computed tomography and X‐ray images have been widely used. Artificial intelligence coupled with X‐ray technologies has recently shown to be more effective in the diagnosis of this disease. With this motivation, a comparative analysis of fine‐tuned deep learning architectures has been made to speed up the detection and classification of COVID‐19 patients from other pneumonia groups. The models used for this analysis are MobileNetV2, ResNet50, InceptionV3, NASNetMobile, VGG16, Xception, InceptionResNetV2 DenseNet121, which have been fine‐tuned using a new set of layers replaced with the head of the network. This research work has carried out an analysis on two datasets. Dataset‐1 includes the images of three classes: Normal, COVID, and Pneumonia. Dataset‐2, in contrast, contains the same classes with more focus on two prominent pneumonia categories: bacterial pneumonia and viral pneumonia. The research was conducted on 959 X‐ray images (250 of Bacterial Pneumonia, 250 of Viral Pneumonia, 209 of COVID, and 250 of Normal cases). Using the confusion matrix, the required results of different models have been computed. Coronavirus (COVID-19) is a pandemic disease classified by the World Health Organization. This virus triggers several coughing problems (e.g., flu) that include symptoms of fever, cough, and pneumonia, in extreme cases. The human sputum or blood samples are used to detect this virus, and the result is normally available within a few hours or at most days. In this research, we suggest the implementation of automated deep learning without require handcrafted expertise of data scientist. The model developed aims to give radiologists a second-opinion interpretation and to minimize clinicians’ workload substantially and help them diagnose correctly. We employed automated deep learning via Google AutoML for COVID-19 X-ray detection to provide an automated and faster diagnosis. The model is employed on X-ray images to detect COVID-19 based on several binary and multi-class cases. It consists of three scenarios of binary classification categorized as healthy, pneumonia, and COVID-19. The multi-classification model based on these three labels is employed to differentiate between them directly. An investigational review of 1125 chest X-rays indicates the efficiency of the proposed method. AutoML enables binary and multi-classification tasks to be performed with an accuracy up to 98.41%. BACKGROUND: Analysis of chest X-ray images is one of the primary standards in diagnosing patients with COVID-19 and pneumonia, which is faster than using PCR Swab method. However, accuracy of using X-ray images needs to be improved. OBJECTIVE: To develop a new deep learning system of chest X-ray images and evaluate whether it can quickly and accurately detect pneumonia and COVID-19 patients. METHODS: The developed deep learning system (UBNet v3) uses three architectural hierarchies, namely first, to build an architecture containing 7 convolution layers and 3 ANN layers (UBNet v1) to classify between normal images and pneumonia images. Second, using 4 layers of convolution and 3 layers of ANN (UBNet v2) to classify between bacterial and viral pneumonia images. Third, using UBNet v1 to classify between pneumonia virus images and COVID-19 virus infected images. An open-source database with 9,250 chest X-ray images including 3,592 COVID-19 images were used in this study to train and test the developed deep learning models. RESULTS: CNN architecture with a hierarchical scheme developed in UBNet v3 using a simple architecture yielded following performance indices to detect chest X-ray images of COVID-19 patients namely, 99.6%accuracy, 99.7%precision, 99.7%sensitivity, 99.1%specificity, and F1 score of 99.74%. A desktop GUI-based monitoring and classification system supported by a simple CNN architecture can process each chest X-ray image to detect and classify COVID-19 image with an average time of 1.21 seconds. CONCLUSION: Using three hierarchical architectures in UBNet v3 improves system performance in classifying chest X-ray images of pneumonia and COVID-19 patients. Since the outbreak of Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), it has been spreading rapidly worldwide and has not yet been effectively controlled. Many researchers are studying novel Coronavirus pneumonia from chest X-ray images. In order to improve the detection accuracy, two modules sensitive to feature information, dual-path multiscale feature fusion module and dense depthwise separable convolution module, are proposed. Based on these two modules, a lightweight convolutional neural network model, D2-CovidNet, is designed to assist experts in diagnosing COVID-19 by identifying chest X-ray images. D2-CovidNet is tested on two public data sets, and its classification accuracy, precision, sensitivity, specificity, and F1-score are 94.56%, 95.14%, 94.02%, 96.61%, and 95.30%, respectively. Specifically, the precision, sensitivity, and specificity of the network for COVID-19 are 98.97%, 94.12%, and 99.84%, respectively. D2-CovidNet has fewer computation number and parameter number. With the exponential growth of COVID‐19 cases, medical practitioners are searching for accurate and quick automated detection methods to prevent Covid from spreading while trying to reduce the computational requirement of devices. In this research article, a deep learning Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) based accurate and efficient ensemble model using deep learning is being proposed with 2161 COVID‐19, 2022 pneumonia, and 5863 normal chest X‐ray images that has been collected from previous publications and other online resources. To improve the detection accuracy contrast enhancement and image normalization have been done to produce better quality images at the pre‐processing level. Further data augmentation methods are used by creating modified versions of images in the dataset to train the four efficient CNN models (Inceptionv3, DenseNet121, Xception, InceptionResNetv2) Experimental results provide 98.33% accuracy for binary class and 92.36% for multiclass. • We analyze testing protocols used for Covid-19 detection used in the literature. • We successfully classify COVID images whose lungs areas are turned to black. • We try using different datasets for training and testing. • We show that many highly cited paper on this topic use biased testing protocols. In this paper, we compare and evaluate different testing protocols used for automatic COVID-19 diagnosis from X-Ray images in the recent literature. We show that similar results can be obtained using X-Ray images that do not contain most of the lungs. We are able to remove the lungs from the images by turning to black the center of the X-Ray scan and training our classifiers only on the outer part of the images. Hence, we deduce that several testing protocols for the recognition are not fair and that the neural networks are learning patterns in the dataset that are not correlated to the presence of COVID-19. Finally, we show that creating a fair testing protocol is a challenging task, and we provide a method to measure how fair a specific testing protocol is. In the future research we suggest to check the fairness of a testing protocol using our tools and we encourage researchers to look for better techniques than the ones that we propose. The world is experiencing an unprecedented crisis due to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) outbreak that has affected nearly 216 countries and territories across the globe. Since the pandemic outbreak, there is a growing interest in computational model-based diagnostic technologies to support the screening and diagnosis of COVID-19 cases using medical imaging such as chest X-ray (CXR) scans. It is discovered in initial studies that patients infected with COVID-19 show abnormalities in their CXR images that represent specific radiological patterns. Still, detection of these patterns is challenging and time-consuming even for skilled radiologists. In this study, we propose a novel convolutional neural network- (CNN-) based deep learning fusion framework using the transfer learning concept where parameters (weights) from different models are combined into a single model to extract features from images which are then fed to a custom classifier for prediction. We use gradient-weighted class activation mapping to visualize the infected areas of CXR images. Furthermore, we provide feature representation through visualization to gain a deeper understanding of the class separability of the studied models with respect to COVID-19 detection. Cross-validation studies are used to assess the performance of the proposed models using open-access datasets containing healthy and both COVID-19 and other pneumonia infected CXR images. COVID-19 continues to have catastrophic effects on the lives of human beings throughout the world. To combat this disease it is necessary to screen the affected patients in a fast and inexpensive way. One of the most viable steps towards achieving this goal is through radiological examination, Chest X-Ray being the most easily available and least expensive option. In this paper, we have proposed a Deep Convolutional Neural Network-based solution which can detect the COVID-19 +ve patients using chest X-Ray images. Multiple state-of-the-art CNN models—DenseNet201, Resnet50V2 and Inceptionv3, have been adopted in the proposed work. They have been trained individually to make independent predictions. Then the models are combined, using a new method of weighted average ensembling technique, to predict a class value. To test the efficacy of the solution we have used publicly available chest X-ray images of COVID +ve and –ve cases. 538 images of COVID +ve patients and 468 images of COVID –ve patients have been divided into training, test and validation sets. The proposed approach gave a classification accuracy of 91.62% which is higher than the state-of-the-art CNN models as well the compared benchmark algorithm. We have developed a GUI-based application for public use. Artificial intelligence (AI) techniques in general and convolutional neural networks (CNNs) in particular have attained successful results in medical image analysis and classification. A deep CNN architecture has been proposed in this paper for the diagnosis of COVID-19 based on the chest X-ray image classification. Due to the nonavailability of sufficient-size and good-quality chest X-ray image dataset, an effective and accurate CNN classification was a challenge. To deal with these complexities such as the availability of a very-small-sized and imbalanced dataset with image-quality issues, the dataset has been preprocessed in different phases using different techniques to achieve an effective training dataset for the proposed CNN model to attain its best performance. The preprocessing stages of the datasets performed in this study include dataset balancing, medical experts' image analysis, and data augmentation. The experimental results have shown the overall accuracy as high as 99.5% which demonstrates the good capability of the proposed CNN model in the current application domain. The CNN model has been tested in two scenarios. In the first scenario, the model has been tested using the 100 X-ray images of the original processed dataset which achieved an accuracy of 100%. In the second scenario, the model has been tested using an independent dataset of COVID-19 X-ray images. The performance in this test scenario was as high as 99.5%. To further prove that the proposed model outperforms other models, a comparative analysis has been done with some of the machine learning algorithms. Purpose: The worldwide spread of the SARS‐CoV‐2 virus poses unprecedented challenges to medical resources and infection prevention and control measures around the world. In this case, a rapid and effective detection method for COVID‐19 can not only relieve the pressure of the medical system but find and isolate patients in time, to a certain extent, slow down the development of the epidemic. In this paper, we propose a method that can quickly and accurately diagnose whether pneumonia is viral pneumonia, and classify viral pneumonia in a fine‐grained way to diagnose COVID‐19. Methods: We proposed a Cascade Squeeze‐Excitation and Moment Exchange (Cascade‐SEME) framework that can effectively detect COVID‐19 cases by evaluating the chest x‐ray images, where SE is the structure we designed in the network which has attention mechanism, and ME is a method for image enhancement from feature dimension. The framework integrates a model for a coarse level detection of virus cases among other forms of lung infection, and a model for fine‐grained categorisation of pneumonia types identifying COVID‐19 cases. In addition, a Regional Learning approach is proposed to mitigate the impact of non‐lesion features on network training. The network output is also visualised, highlighting the likely areas of lesion, to assist experts' assessment and diagnosis of COVID‐19. Results: Three datasets were used: a set of Chest x‐ray Images for Classification with bacterial pneumonia, viral pneumonia and normal chest x‐rays, a COVID chest x‐ray dataset with COVID‐19, and a Lung Segmentation dataset containing 1000 chest x‐rays with masks in the lung region. We evaluated all the models on the test set. The results shows the proposed SEME structure significantly improves the performance of the models: in the task of pneumonia infection type diagnosis, the sensitivity, specificity, accuracy and F1 score of ResNet50 with SEME structure are significantly improved in each category, and the accuracy and AUC of the whole test set are also enhanced; in the detection task of COVID‐19, the evaluation results shows that when SEME structure was added to the task, the sensitivities, specificities, accuracy and F1 scores of ResNet50 and DenseNet169 are improved. Although the sensitivities and specificities are not significantly promoted, SEME well balanced these two significant indicators. Regional learning also plays an important role. Experiments show that Regional Learning can effectively correct the impact of non‐lesion features on the network, which can be seen in the Grad‐CAM method. Conclusions: Experiments show that after the application of SEME structure in the network, the performance of SEME‐ResNet50 and SEME‐DenseNet169 in both two datasets show a clear enhancement. And the proposed regional learning method effectively directs the network's attention to focus on relevant pathological regions in the lung radiograph, ensuring the performance of the proposed framework even when a small training set is used. Coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic outbreak has devastating effects on daily lives and healthcare systems worldwide. This newly recognized virus is highly transmissible, and no clinically approved vaccine or antiviral medicine is currently available. Early diagnosis of infected patients through effective screening is needed to control the rapid spread of this virus. Chest radiography imaging is an effective diagnosis tool for COVID-19 virus and follow-up. Here, a novel hybrid multimodal deep learning system for identifying COVID-19 virus in chest X-ray (CX-R) images is developed and termed as the COVID-DeepNet system to aid expert radiologists in rapid and accurate image interpretation. First, Contrast-Limited Adaptive Histogram Equalization (CLAHE) and Butter worth band pass ilter were applied to enhance the contrast and eliminate the noise in CX-R images, respectively. Results from two different deep learning approaches based on the incorporation of a deep belief network and a convolutional deep belief network trained from scratch using a large-scale dataset were then fused. Parallel architecture, which provides radiologists a high degree of confidence to distinguish healthy and COVID-19 infected people, was considered. The proposed COVID-DeepNet system can correctly and accurately diagnose patients with COVID-19 with a detection accuracy rate of 99.93%, sensitivity of 99.90%, specificity of 100%, precision of 100%, F1-score of 99.93%, MSE of 0.021%, and RMSE of 0.016%in a large-scale dataset. This system shows efficiency and accuracy and can be used in a real clinical center for the early diagnosis of COVID-19 virus and treatment follow-up with less than 3 s per image to make the final decision. Wearable systems measuring human physiological indicators with integrated sensors and supervised learning-based medical image analysis (e.g. ECG, X-ray, CT or ultrasound images for lung or the chest) have been considered relevant tools for COVID-19 monitoring and diagnosis. However, these two technical roadmaps have their respective advantages and drawbacks. The current wearable systems enable to realize real-time monitoring of COVID-19 but are limited to its basic symptoms only, neither allowing to distinguish it from other diseases nor performing deep analysis. Current medical image analysis can provide accurate decision support for diagnosis but rarely deals with real-time data processing. In this context, we propose a new wearable system by combining the advantages of these two technical roadmaps. Considering that electrocardiogram (ECG) has been proved relevant to evolution of COVID-19 symptoms, the proposed wearable system will integrate an explainable Deep Neural Network to realize online monitoring of COVID-19 gravity by using ECG beat signal. This paper will focus on the Deep Neural Network model named X-RCRNet. The network is based on ResNet18 but with few enhancements: 1) LSTM Layers for regenerating the backpropagation error and further extracting the involved time-varying features; 2) LeakyReLU for increasing the performances of the model. With an accuracy of 96.48 % after experiments, our model has not only outperformed the existing methods in terms of accuracy and robustness, but also originally identify the ST interval of the ECG pattern, as the most prominent key features affected by the virus. Since the first case in 2019, Corona Virus has been spreading all over the world. World Health Organization (WHO) announced that COVID-19 had become an international pandemic. There is an essential section to handle the spreading of the virus by immediate virus detection for patients. Traditional medical detection requires a long time, a specific laboratory, and a high cost. A method for detecting Covid-19 faster compared to common approaches, such as RT-PCR detection, is needed. The method demonstrated that it could produce an X-ray image with higher accuracy and consumed less time. We propose a novel method to extract image features and to classify COVID-19 using deep CNN combined with Autoencoder (AE) dubbed CAE-COVIDX. We evaluated and compared it with the traditional CNN and existing framework VGG16 involving 400 normal images of non-COVID19 and 400 positive COVID-19 diseases. The performance evaluation was conducted using accuracy, confusion matrix, and loss evaluation. Based on experiment results, the CAE-COVIDX framework outperforms previous methods in several testing scenarios. This framework's ability to detect Covid-19 in various nonstandard image Xrays could effectively help medical employers diagnose Covid-19 patients. The Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by a new virus that has not been detected in humans before. The virus causes a respiratory illness like the flu with various symptoms such as cough or fever that, in severe cases, may cause pneumonia. The COVID-19 spreads so quickly between people, affecting to 1,200,000 people worldwide at the time of writing this paper (April 2020). Due to the number of contagious and deaths are continually growing day by day, the aim of this study is to develop a quick method to detect COVID-19 in chest X-ray images using deep learning techniques. For this purpose, an object detection architecture is proposed, trained and tested with a public available dataset composed with 1500 images of non-infected patients and infected with COVID-19 and pneumonia. The main goal of our method is to classify the patient status either negative or positive COVID-19 case. In our experiments using SDD300 model we achieve a 94.92% of sensibility and 92.00% of specificity in COVID-19 detection, demonstrating the usefulness application of deep learning models to classify COVID-19 in X-ray images. Since December 2019, COVID-19 has posed the most serious threat to living beings. With the advancement of vaccination programs around the globe, the need to quickly diagnose COVID-19 in general with little logistics is fore important. As a consequence, the fastest diagnostic option to stop COVID-19 from spreading, especially among senior patients, should be the development of an automated detection system. This study aims to provide a lightweight deep learning method that incorporates a convolutional neural network (CNN), discrete wavelet transform (DWT), and a long short-term memory (LSTM), called CORONA-NET for diagnosing COVID-19 from chest X-ray images. In this system, deep feature extraction is performed by CNN, the feature vector is reduced yet strengthened by DWT, and the extracted feature is detected by LSTM for prediction. The dataset included 3000 X-rays, 1000 of which were COVID-19 obtained locally. Within minutes of the test, the proposed test platform's prototype can accurately detect COVID-19 patients. The proposed method achieves state-of-the-art performance in comparison with the existing deep learning methods. We hope that the suggested method will hasten clinical diagnosis and may be used for patients in remote areas where clinical labs are not easily accessible due to a lack of resources, location, or other factors. COVID-19 quickly became a global pandemic after only four months of its first detection. It is crucial to detect this disease as soon as possible to decrease its spread. The use of chest X-ray (CXR) images became an effective screening strategy, complementary to the reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). Convolutional neural networks (CNNs) are often used for automatic image classification and they can be very useful in CXR diagnostics. In this paper, 21 different CNN architectures are tested and compared in the task of identifying COVID-19 in CXR images. They were applied to the COVIDx8B dataset, a large COVID-19 dataset with 16,352 CXR images coming from patients of at least 51 countries. Ensembles of CNNs were also employed and they showed better efficacy than individual instances. The best individual CNN instance results were achieved by DenseNet169, with an accuracy of 98.15% and an F1 score of 98.12%. These were further increased to 99.25% and 99.24%, respectively, through an ensemble with five instances of DenseNet169. Due to the rapid spread of COVID-19, many countries' healthcare sectors were caught off guard. This situation put a burden on doctors and healthcare professionals that they could not handle. All of the studies on COVID-19 in the literature have been done to help experts to recognize COVID-19 more accurately, to use more accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment methods. The alleviation of this workload will be possible by developing computer aided early and accurate diagnosis systems with machine learning. Diagnosis and evaluation of pneumonia on computed tomography images provide significant benefits in investigating possible complications and in case follow-up. Pneumonia and lesions occurring in the lungs should be carefully examined as it helps in the diagnostic process during the pandemic period. For this reason, the first diagnosis and medications are very important to prevent the disease from progressing. In this study, a dataset consisting of Pneumonia and Normal images was used by proposing a new image preprocessing process. These preprocessed images were reduced to 15x15 unit size and their features were extracted according to their RGB values. Experimental studies were carried out by performing both normal values and feature reduction among these features. RGB values of the images were used in train and test processes for MLAs.
