Aim: To investigate the association between mental health symptoms, alcohol use, and alcohol misuse among psychiatrists in China during the early stage of the COVID-19 pandemic., Methods: We conducted an online survey to collect data regarding mental health symptoms and alcohol use among psychiatrists in early 2020. The Depression Anxiety Stress Scale-Chinese Version (DASS-21) was used to assess depression, anxiety, and stress symptoms, and the Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test-Consumption (AUDIT-C) was used to assess alcohol use., Results: In total, 3774 psychiatrists completed the survey. AUDIT-C scores were positively correlated with DASS total and depression, anxiety, and stress subscales (total: r = 0.015, depression: r = 0.121, anxiety: r = 0.103, and stress: r = 0.096, all p < 0.05). Alcohol misuse was associated with male sex (OR = 4.754), cigarette smoking (OR = 2.441), administrative position (OR = 1.811), depression (OR = 1.489), and stress (OR = 1.504). Those who reported increased alcohol use during the pandemic were more likely to be male (OR = 2.174), endorse anxiety symptoms (OR = 2.386), or increased stress (OR = 2.402)., Conclusions: Mental health symptoms were common among psychiatrists during the COVID-19 pandemic. Depression and stress symptoms were significantly associated with alcohol misuse. Anxiety and stress symptoms were associated with reported increases in alcohol use. Though a causal relationship cannot be inferred, our findings suggest that strategies promoting healthcare professionals' mental well-being should include alcohol use., (Copyright © 2023 The Author(s). Objectives: This study aimed to assess the extent of alcohol use and misuse among clinical therapists working in psychiatric hospitals in China during the early COVID-19 Pandemic, and to identify associated factors., Methods: An anonymous nationwide survey was conducted in 41 tertiary psychiatric hospitals. We collected demographic data as well as alcohol use using the Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test-Consumption (AUDIT-C) and burnout using the Maslach Burnout Inventory Human Services Survey., Results: In total, 396 clinical therapists completed the survey, representing 89.0% of all potential participants we targeted. The mean age of participants was 33.8 years old, and more than three-quarters (77.5%) were female. Nearly two-fifths (39.1%) self-reported as current alcohol users. The overall prevalence of alcohol misuse was 6.6%. Nearly one-fifth (19.9%) reported symptoms of burnout with high emotional exhaustion in 46 (11.6%), and high depersonalization in 61 (15.4%). Multiple logistic regression showed alcohol use was associated with male gender (OR = 4.392; 95% CI =2.443-7.894), single marital status (OR = 1.652; 95% CI =0.970-2.814), smoking habit (OR = 3.847; 95%CI =1.160-12.758) and regular exercise (OR = 2.719; 95%CI =1.490-4.963). Alcohol misuse was associated with male gender (OR = 3.367; 95% CI =1.174-9.655), a lower education level (OR = 3.788; 95%CI =1.009-14.224), smoking habit (OR = 4.626; 95%CI =1.277-16.754) and high burnout (depersonalization, OR = 4.848; 95%CI =1.433-16.406)., Conclusion: During the COVID-19 pandemic, clinical therapists' alcohol consumption did not increase significantly. Male gender, cigarette smoking, and burnout are associated with an increased risk of alcohol misuse among clinical therapists. ObjectiveTo analyze the coping style and its relationship with anxiety status among middle school students aged 13 to 18 in Anhui province during the COVID-19 epidemic.MethodsFrom February 13 to 19， 2020， a cross-sectional survey was conducted among middle school students in Anhui province by using convenience sampling method and network questionnaire. The assessment tools included the Coping Style Scale for Middle School Students （CSSMSS） and the Screen for Child Anxiety Related Emotional Disorders （SCARED）.ResultsThe results of the CSSMSS evaluation showed that female students scored higher in emotion abreaction than male students ［（8.27±2.98） vs. （7.84±2.91）］. The scores of tolerance ［（9.74±2.73） vs. （9.11±2.60）］， escape ［（7.82±2.79） vs. （7.26±2.44）］， emotion abreaction ［（8.48±2.97） vs. （7.91±2.93）］ and fantasy/denial ［（9.79±3.56） vs. （9.26±3.47）］ of senior high school students were higher than those of junior high school students， and the score of problem solving ［（19.38±4.07） vs. （20.33±4.54）］ was lower than that of junior high school students， with statistical significance （P
