The present research had as intentions: to know and unveil the significant learning achieved during the development of the qualitative research course in the Master's Degree in Education: Research and Higher Education at the Universidad Nacional Hermilio Valdizán, Huánuco, Peru, which changed from face-to-face mode to virtual mode, due to the restrictions of confinement imposed by the Peruvian government given the advance of Covid-19 in the country. Using the action-research method in the classroom, the study was developed from the qualitative methodological perspective with two groups of students in the 2020-I academic period. Along with the pedagogical actions, the researcher-teachers collected information using focused written testimonies, homework records, and video conferences. Five categories emerged from the information systematization process, the most saturated being: i) reading and reflecting is the key and ii) collaborative work as a strategy for effective learning. It is concluded that in the experience of mediation and digital transformation of the qualitative research course, the preparation of teachers in connectivism and the sustenance in the educational model based on socioformation in the configuration of a personal learning environment was significant, which allowed students to demonstrate a high level of commitment, performance, and understanding of the epistemological and methodological principles implicit in this type of research. Introduction: Isolation and confinement are measures of high social impact that -worldwide and to a greater or lesser degree of intensity-have brought about temporary or permanent changes in how social interactions are conducted. Objective: To conduct a study on the domestic sphere and the external modifications that forced a drastic lockdown in the Colombian population during the first months of the COVID-19 pandemic. Materials and Methods: A qualitative study was carried out by conducting in-depth interviews with 45 participants living in the city of Bucaramanga, Colombia, reconstructing life pathways to evaluate the most drastic moment in the population's lockdown. Results: From the findings, the ability to assimilate strong lockdown measures, the collectivization of the medical discourse's most legitimate justifications, and the construction of self-care measures in the domestic sphere -a key place and relational space to face social uncertainty in the absence of effective responses to control contagion and disease-are highlighted. Conclusion: The drastic lockdown of the Colombian population due to the transitory measures entailed a high level of uncertainty for family groups but also a generally positive response. TELECOMMUTING , *PRODUCTIVE life span , *INTERNET surveys , *FORECASTING - Abstract
In order to evaluate the effects derived from confinement due to the disease known as COVID-19, two scales consisting of five dimensions each were used: the scale of organizational support and teleworking, and the second one on the consequences derived from confinement. 5,528 workers from the Mexican Republic answered the online survey (45.9% women and 54.1% men). The results indicated adequate adjustments to both scales: the first with an x2(109) = 3008.970 p < .000, CFI =.94; RMSEA = .075; SRMR=.054 and the second with an x2(142) = 2367.49, p < .000, CFI =.95; RMSEA = .071; SRMR = .052. The analyses showed that telecommuting is positively predicted by job communication, leadership, organizational support and concern, while job demotivation and emotional affectation predict it negatively. The results are discussed in terms of the implications of teleworking during confinement and work life in Mexico. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

LAMBS , *HAY , *WEIGHT gain , *ANIMAL feeding - Abstract
Background: We hypothesized that a diet with old man saltbush hay used as an alternative source of nutrients could partially replace the concentrate in the feeding of feedlot lambs. Objective: This study evaluated the behavior and performance of lambs fed diets containing increasing levels of old man saltbush hay plus concentrate. Methods: Twenty-four castrated Santa Inês lambs at approximately eight months of age (22 ± 1.97 kg) were confined in a randomized complete design and fed diets containing 30, 40, 50, and 60% (dry matter: DM) of old man saltbush hay. Results: The intake of DM and neutral detergent fiber was not affected (p>0.05) by the level of old man saltbush hay. Intake of mineral salt decreased (p<0.01) as the proportion of old man saltbush in the diet increased. Weight gain (kg) and feed efficiency worsened (p<0.05) with 40% inclusion of old man salt bush hay. The time spent on feeding and chewing increased (p<0.05), while idle time was reduced (p<0.01) with dietary inclusion of old man saltbush. Feed efficiency decreased (p<0.05) with the inclusion of old man saltbush. Conclusion: Dietary inclusion of old man saltbush affects the feeding behavior and performance of lambs in feedlot. COVID-19 pandemic , *COVID-19 , *TEENAGERS , *PANDEMICS , *STAY-at-home orders - Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic represents a risk for the mental health because it has changed the context of adolescents and young people. The study was aimed to analyze psychological responses of Mexican adolescents and young students to the pandemic and compare those variables by the lockdown time. The participants were 197 students aged 13 to 24 years from the State of Puebla in Mexico, participated. The COVID-19' Youth Perception Survey was applied to evaluate fears and worries, stress, school pressures, and routine changes, as well as some conditions related to the COVID-19. Girls present more stress, fears, and school pressure than boys do. In addition, adolescents who have been in confinement for a longer time have higher scores in all these areas evaluated, which could increase the probability of emotional problems. Therefore, design selective based-evidence strategies for youth are needed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In the context of COVID-19, we have consumed information with different perceptions. This quantitative and descriptive research based on an online survey studies the consumption of information that we consult, read, view, hear and share about the pandemic. It is an exploratory study to know the quality, trust and participation in the contents, and also the media / platforms that we consult. For Generation X, Z and Baby Boomers, Mass Media are perceived as quality and trustworthy, while Social Media are more for entertainment and spreading false information. This information is received on their mobile devices and television, and the consultation time does not exceed one hour per day. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, education institutions were closed, and students were confined to their homes. Objectives: To identify the social, family, academic, and behavioral changes related to the COVID-19 pandemic in nursing students; to characterize their perceptions of health, information, and compliance with the measures. Methodology: Quantitative descriptive-correlational study with 425 nursing students. The COVID-19 International Student Well-Being Study (C19 ISWS) was used. All ethical requirements were met. Results: With the suspension of presential classes, students returned to their family homes, reduced their contacts with friends, and gave priority to online forms of communication. They experienced stress due to the changes in the teaching methods and about the possibility of not successfully completing the academic year. Students reported an increase in online materials but did report an increase in academic workload. They reported fewer financial resources and considered that the information from the Directorate-General of Health was clear and provided in due time. They also reported having complied with the measures. Students significantly decreased their consumption of tobacco, alcohol, and others. Conclusion: The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the nursing students' lives, due to their return to their family homes, the concerns about their academic success, the distancing from social activities, with strict compliance with the recommended sanitary measures. - Abstract
The objective of this study was to identify the spatial and temporal patterns of seven behaviours contrary to coexistence (BCC) during the lockdown measures applied at a national level in Colombia for 47 days. For this, 363,439 administrative records collected by the National Police from March 16 to May 1, 2020 regarding BCCs were analysed, all including the following information: time, day, date, type of behaviour, age and state or department of the offender. The results showed: (a) temporal relationships between the number of daily or accumulated cases of COVID-19 and the rates of BCCs per 100,000 inhabitants, (b) concentration of BCCs between 8:00 am and 12: 00 pm or between 2:00 pm and 6 pm, (c) greater frequency of alcoholic beverage consumption on weekends, (d) in relation to age, the 18-24 age group had the highest number of corrective measures. - Abstract
This article shows the practice of a team of psychoanalysts in Barcelona working in a Mental Health service, the Nou Barris Foundation for Mental Health. The device supports the articulation between psychoanalysis and social education to treat the various problems that arise in children and adolescents under guardianship due to a diagnosis of distress. It explores what we call the "gift of the word". The emphasis is then on conversation practice. It gives an account of the current moment of uncertainty introduced by the pandemic and the way in which psychoanalysts read that uncertainty. It explores the difference between isolation and loneliness which are two key figures in the moment of lockdown. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

On the basis of Michel Foucault's considerations on prisons and Loïc Wacquant's updating of his inquiries in the 21st century, we provide a critical interpretation of the territorial pattern of confinement in the contemporary world, which includes but also goes beyond the prison. A brief presentation of territorial patterns of confinement throughout the process of modernization, whether in the plantation, the region, or the metropolization process, serves to situate the meaning of each one of these practices, on the basis of Loïc Wacquant's suggestions regarding particular institutions, but discussed in the light of the contradictory developments of the expanded reproduction of capital, which, due to the microelectronic revolution, generates a fictitious accumulation as it gradually dispenses with the unpropertied populations for its accumulation. In this scenario, we explore the point at which the exercise of labor mobility intersects with that of biopolitics, transforming the latter into necropolitics, given the disposability of workers. This allows us to qualify and differentiate the territorial pattern of confinement today from previous similar practices, in the contemporary context of total mobility amidst crisis, of the collapse of modernization and its civilizatory horizon. The objective was to identify the predictive value of affectivity and emotions, as well as resilience skills on some mental health indicators in adolescents attending school at the end of COVID 19 confinement. A total of 508 adolescents from different educational institutions in Morelia, Michoacán, Mexico participated; the Goldberg General Health Questionnaire, Beck Hopelessness Scale, Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale and a structured questionnaire were used. Data were analyzed with frequency analysis, Pearson’s correlation coefficient and linear regression. The findings highlight the existence of affectations in the mental health of adolescents, with medium-high levels of well-being and social functioning predominating. The most frequently reported emotions were sadness, stress, and anger; there are positive correlations between mental health and hopelessness, and negative correlations between mental health and resilience. Both hopelessness and negative emotions and resilience inversely predict mental health. It is concluded that adolescents show impairments in their mental health, mainly in the feeling of well-being related to affect. Hopelessness, sadness, stress and anger as risk factors and resilience as a protective factor are indicators that predict mental health, which leads to the conclusion that the pandemic has affected the affective life of adolescents and therefore their mental health., O objetivo foi identificar o valor preditivo da afetividade e das emoções, bem como das habilidades de resiliência em alguns indicadores de saúde mental em adolescentes escolares no final do confinamento da COVID 19. Tanto a desesperança quanto as emoções negativas e a resiliência predizem inversamente a saúde mental.

The article presented aims to carry out an analysis about virtual education and its impact on the academic performance of students. Currently, the use of technology has become a transcendental requirement from the confinement, for this reason, all face-to-face or traditional educational activities had to be suspended, for which reason virtual classes were radically and immediately used, which led to the implementation of a new teaching methodology. That is why teachers were also forced to use virtuality, considering important elements such as: continuous training, collaborative commitment, emotional support, technology management, among other aspects that helped to relate to students. The Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) allowed to convert the existing limitations into real challenges, with the purpose of training the student in his path to professionalization and, in a special way, directing him in the area of knowledge of eduational informatics. Therefore, virtual education offered the educational system resources and tools that empowered students to develop significant learning, in addition, it favored the acquisition of multimedia skills and knowledge that were not seen before, interactivity with information, the teacher and between students.

The pandemic caused by COVID -19 generated untimely changes in how different societies were organized, with health and education being the sectors that suffered the most alterations in their practical functionality. Peru in the field of its university education represents a striking case to measure the impacts of confinement and its consequences, since the high demand in the preparation, the determined times, the new means of educational interaction, its shortcomings and improvisation represented an overload of activities that could well have resulted in stress. Thus, the objective of this review study is to analyze and determine the state of academic stress that occurs in the public university student stratum of our country. The results indicate that the stress levels in these students have reached high and moderate levels, due to the academic demands resulting from the context of confinement. Faced with this, what to do? This could be only the first pandemic of this century, not the last., La pandemia ocasionada por el COVID -19 provocó transformaciones intempestivas en cómo estaban organizadas distintas sociedades, siendo salud y educación los sectores que más sufrieron alteraciones en su funcionalidad práctica. Frente a ello ¿Qué hacer? The objective was to describe the conditions in which the classes were held once the confinement for non-essential activities was declared. A descriptive, cross-sectional methodology was used with a hermeneutic approach. A questionnaire was applied to a sample of 357 members of the Health Sciences student body of the Universidad Juárez Autónoma de Tabasco, Mexico, in May 2020. Semi-structured interviews were also conducted. In the results, it was identified that the student body had an Internet connection (87.1%), smartphones (82.5%), and a laptop (75.8%). The student body's activities were elaborating slides for presentations in class (78.8%) and reading in their textbooks (67.5%). The activities of the teaching staff were to comment at the end of the presentations (58.9%), and they requested the search for information for the elaboration of texts (61.8%). The student body mentioned that their stress levels increased (52.7%), and the tasks became more challenging to do (45.2%). The migration to virtual environments was not accompanied by changes in the structure of school activities, so it is most likely that when returning to face-to-face learning, the traditional class will be maintained. In Colombia, COVID-19 reached historically marginalized territories affected by the current territorial dispute between illegal armed groups and guerrillas. From the preventive language of confinement and social isolation as mechanisms to contain the contagion derive threats to the life plans of communities and, in turn, pose challenges to the construction of peace during and after the pandemic.

Abstract On the basis of Michel Foucault's considerations on prisons and Loïc Wacquant's updating of his inquiries in the 21st century, we provide a critical interpretation of the territorial pattern of confinement in the contemporary world, which includes but also goes beyond the prison. Main Ideas: Reflection article regarding the territorial pattern of confinement in the contemporary world. It discusses previous confinement patterns and their functionality in reproducing capital, and interprets the current pattern on the basis of the fact that it breaks with said functionality. We relate its establishment with the crisis of labor and the necro-management of population arising from the latter.

COVID-19 pandemic restrictions might have negatively affected the health-related physical fitness of children and adolescents. The aim of this study was to contrast the body composition and physical fitness data of two independent samples of children and adolescents obtained from an online database (DAFIS project) before (n = 15,287) and during (n = 2101) the first academic year of the COVID-19 pandemic. The results revealed higher values for the body mass index (p = 0.002), waist circumference (p < 0.001), and waist to hip and waist to height ratios (p < 0.001) during than before the pandemic, particularly in the case of boys. On the other hand, lower muscular fitness was observed for girls during the pandemic. Quantitative and qualitative analysis did not detect relevant changes in cardiorespiratory fitness in children or adolescents (p > 0.05). Our data suggested that pandemic constraints might have affected body composition and muscular fitness of children and adolescents. These results might be of interest for designing specific interventions oriented toward counteracting the negative effects of pandemic restrictions on health-related physical fitness.
