The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act of 2021 (P.L 177-58) authorized some $1.2 trillion to invest in infrastructure in the United States. The largest infrastructure investment in a generation, the bill combined funds for traditional infrastructure (roads, bridges, water, ports, etc.) with money for broadband internet, electric vehicle charging, clean energy, and other uses. However, only a small portion of the funds are available to address redundant, abandoned, idled, or neglected (RAIN) infrastructure. This article presents the broader issues associated with RAIN infrastructure, (i.e., costs and equity) and introduces the papers that comprise the RAIN symposium. We conclude that there is a significant need for further scholarly and policy attention within the U.S. and elsewhere, so that the myriad of issues relating to existing infrastructure may be adequately addressed. This article presents several abstracts which will be presented at the Twenty-Third Annual Meeting of the Society for Psychophysiological Research, scheduled to be held at the Asilomar Conference Center, on the Monterey Peninsula, in Pacific Grove, California, September 25-28, 1983. Since these abstracts are being published and distributed to all members of the society prior to the annual meeting, they will not be otherwise reproduced and distributed to meeting registrants as in the past. The American Financial Association and the Department of Finance have entered into a joint venture to maintain and enhance the finance faculty directory on the University's website.

By exploiting the cancellation of the 2012 American Political Science Association Annual Meeting, we investigate the role of conferences in facilitating academic collaboration. We assembled data sets comprising 17,467 academics, and in difference‐in‐differences analysis we find that the conference cancellation led to a decrease in individuals’ likelihood of co‐authoring an article with another attendant by 16%. Moreover, collaborations formed among attendants of (occurring) conferences are associated with more successful co‐publications: an effect which is sharpest for teams that are new or non‐collocated. Conferences seem to de‐cluster the co‐authorship network. Altogether, our findings demonstrate the importance of conferences in scientific production. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

We are honored to present this collection of abstracts from the Research and Thesis Poster Session of the 57th American Dance Therapy Association (ADTA) Conference in Montreal, Canada held from October 27–30, 2022. This paper features eleven abstracts that showcase the latest research in dance therapy from various perspectives and approaches. These abstracts were selected and curated by Research and Practice committee members, Karolina Bryl, Cecilia Fontanesi, and Chevon Stewart, who were responsible for organizing the Research and Thesis Poster Session. The Research and Thesis Poster Session is a vital component of the ADTA Conference, providing a platform for researchers and practitioners to share their work, exchange ideas, and connect with colleagues. The abstracts presented in this paper offer insights into a broad range of topics, including the use of dance therapy in clinical and community settings, the integration of technology in dance therapy, and the examination of cultural and social factors that impact the practice of dance therapy. This non-refereed contribution to Human Resource Development International represents the reflections of three US delegates who attended the 6th International Conference on HRD Research and Practice across Europe in Leeds, England, in May 2005. We begin by providing an overview of the conference programme, examine the conference theme as reflected in the scholarship presented at the conference and share our impressions of the conference atmosphere. The article presents abstracts of various papers related to marketing presented at the 12th Conference on Historical Analysis & Research in Marketing that was held during April 28-May 1, 2005 in Long Beach, California. The paper "Pansies to Parents: Gay Male Images in American Print Advertising," states that the increasingly common and diverse depiction of gay men in American print advertising is a recent phenomenon, dating from the mid-1990s. However, gay male images have appeared in print advertisements since early in the last century. Using a framework categorizing minority depictions in media over time and adapted for this study, a chronological series of twenty-two print advertisements are presented and analyzed dating from 1917 through 2004. Another paper "Historical Perspectives on Firm-Based Pricing Research in Marketing: 1915-2004," states that pricing is a singular concept in marketing and in management science. Actually, pricing's legitimacy in marketing has long been relative. For decades, pricing studies relied on the strong theoretical frameworks proposed by economics and mathematics on one side and by psychology and sociology on the other.

This special issue of Telecommunications Policy might never have happened save for the heroic efforts of nearly 300 people last September who would not be deterred by travel delays, lengthy power outages and falling trees to participate in the 31st Annual Telecommunications Policy Research Conference (TPRC). Isabel, the worst hurricane to hit Washington D.C. in over 30 years, capped a year of challenges, not only from the weather, but from many significant changes for TPRC as well. The conference had a new administrative staff, a new publisher, a new location and a new partner in the National Center for Technology and Law at the George Mason University Law School. This volume contains a selection of nine visionary papers from the 2003 conference. This special issue of Telecommunication Policy is the outcome of a new joint venture with TPRC to bring the conference's scholarship to a wider audience.
