The article discusses how the chief information security officer (CISO) position has evolved from tactical operations to a more strategic company leadership role. According to the author, the expertise of the CISO tends to be weak in applications and even weaker in understanding the business processes those applications drive. He says that CISOs should reach out to new and natural allies within an organization and combine business understanding with technical knowledge.
