Cilj diplomske naloge je bil avtomatizirati konstrukcijo proizvodnega izdelka v sistemu SolidWorks v povezavi s programom ciciVO, ki služi kot podporno orodje pri prodaji vgradnih omar. Izdelali smo dodatek za SolidWorks, ki iz projektne datoteke omenjenega programa pridobi informacije o določenem izdelku in s pomočjo teh zgradili njegov 3D-model v sistemu SolidWorks. V ta namen je bilo treba izdelati uporabniški vmesnik dodatka in napisati algoritem za gradnjo. Pri tem smo se morali sprehoditi skozi drevesno strukturo, opisano v projektni datoteki, in zgraditi enako strukturo v SolidWorksu. Na koncu je tako potreben le pritisk na gumb in v nekaj minutah je 3D-model pripravljen za proizvodnjo. Na ta način smo bistveno skrajšali proces od prodaje do proizvodnje naročenega izdelka, saj je bilo prej za enak, vendar ročni postopek potrebnih več ur dela. The goal of this thesis was to automate the construction of manufacturing products in SolidWorks in connection with the ciciVO software that serves as a support tool in the sales of built-in closets. We have developed the SolidWorks add-in that obtains information about a particular product from the project file of the previously mentioned software and uses it to build its 3D model in SolidWorks. For this purpose we had to create a user interface for the add-in and programme the construction algorithm. This included going through the tree structure described in the project file and building the same structure in SolidWorks. In the end just a press of the button is required and in a few minutes the 3D model is ready for production. In this way, we have significantly shortened the process from the sale of the ordered product to production, as the similar manual process previously required several hours of work.

Proteini sodelujejo v skoraj vseh procesih, ki se odvijajo v celicah živečih organizmov. Razumevanje njihovih funkcij je ključnega pomena za razumevanje bioloških procesov. Soodvisne spremembe v proteinih, ki se tekom njihove evolucije odvijajo, so tesno povezane z njihovo strukturo in funkcijo. Razvitih je bilo več različnih algoritmov za detekcijo soodvisnih sprememb, vsi pa so računsko zelo zahtevni. Eden izmed takšnih algoritmov je algoritem OMES, ki temelji na statističnem testu χ² in naključnem mešanju poravnav proteinskih zaporedij. Cilj diplomske naloge je paralelizacija in implementacija algoritma OMES na grafični procesni enoti z uporabo platforme CUDA. Grafične procesne enote so specializirani procesorji, ki danes najverjetneje nudijo najboljše razmerje med računsko močjo in ceno. V primerjavi z implementacijo na centralni procesni enoti smo dosegli stokratne pohitritve in porabili manj energije. Proteins are involved in almost all processes that take part in cells of living organisms. Understanding of their function is important for the understanding of biological processes. Correlated mutations in proteins, which take place over the course of their evolution, are closely related to their structure and function. Several different algorithms for detection of correlated mutations have been developed, all very computationally intensive. One of such algorithms is the OMES algorithm, which is based on the statistical χ²-test and random shuffling of protein sequences. The aim of the thesis is paralelisation and implementation of the OMES algorithm on graphics processing units using the CUDA platform. Graphics processing units are specialized processors, which nowadays probably offer the best computing power to price ratio. Compared to the implementation on a central processing unit we achieved a 100-fold speedup and used less energy.

Cilj diplomske naloge je implementacija algoritma za numerično reševanje valovne enačbe na grafični procesni enoti. Diferencialno enačbo smo reševali z Eulerjevo metodo in metodo Runge-Kutta 4. reda. Metodi se razlikujeta po računski zahtevnosti, točnosti in numerični stabilnosti. Algoritma smo implementirali na platformah CUDA in OpenCL. Konkurenčni platformi smo med seboj primerjali in predstavili rezultate. Na koncu smo rezultate algoritmov v vsakem koraku vizualizirali z uporabo OpenGL in ocenili, kakšen vpliv na hitrost ima vizualizacija. Rezultati potrjujejo hipotezo, da sta si platformi po zmogljivosti zelo podobni. CUDA je vendrale nekoliko hitrejša predvsem pri izračunih na nekoliko manjših matrikah, OpenCL pa je malce hitrejši pri večjih količinah podatkov. Vizualizacija v primerjavi z izračunom porabi ogromno časa. Zato ob vizualizaciji izbira platforme za programiranje na grafični procesni enoti ni ključnega pomena. The aim of this thesis is implementation of algorithm for numerical solution of the wave equation on graphics processing unit. We used Euler and 4th order Runge-Kutta method. The methods differ in calculation complexity, numerical accuracy and numerical stability. Algorithms were implemented on CUDA and OpenCL platforms. Competitive platforms were compared with each other. Results of each step of the calculation were also visualized using OpenGL standard with the purpose of assessing the impact visualization has on time spent by algorithms. Results confirm the hypothesis that the two GPGPU platforms are very similar in performance. CUDA is slightly faster on smaller matrices, OpenCL performs better on larger matrices. Visualization takes a lot of time compared to the calculation. Therefore, in the case of visualization, the choice of platform is not crucial.

Diplomsko delo govori o izdelavi termostata. Gre za termostat z možnostjo oddaljenega upravljanja. Osnova termostata je majhen računalnik Raspberry Pi. Za merjenje temperature uporabljamo digitalni termometer, za preklapljanje ogrevanja pa uporabljamo rele. Da se izognemo prekomernemu preklaplanju releja, smo uporabili histerezno zanko. Termostat nam omogoča tudi upravljanje digitalnih vhodov in izhodov. Oddaljeno upravljanje je realizirano s pomočjo sporočil SMS. Za lažje upravljanje termostata smo razvili aplikacijo za operacijski sistem Android. Aplikacija nam omogoča uporabo grafičnega umesnika za izdelavo sporočil SMS, s katerimi nadzorujemo termostat. This bachelor Thesis talks about developing a thermostat. It is a thermostat with possibility of remote control. The base of thermostat is credit card sized computer Raspberry Pi. We use digital thermometer for temperature measurement and relay for heating control. To avoid over switching of relay we use a hysteresis loop. We can also control digital input and outputs. For remote control of thermostat we use SMS messages. For easier control we have developed Android application, which allows us to use graphical interface for creating SMS messages in order to control the thermostat.

Digital pens combine affordances of paper and digital world. Documents with similar content could be combined into a single document called digital notebook. Our idea was to include the functionality of integrating different types of documents into a text editor, which enables users to edit the main document in one place. The application was developed for Livescribe and LaTeX because both tools are currently implemented among university teachers. Tagging helps to organize and search for documents in digital notebooks. This thesis suggests more efficient tagging by focusing on the tags and simple way of handling documents. The method used was design and creation complemented with interaction design. The work was evaluated with usability testing of the developed application. The results of the evaluation show that both solutions, embedding digital pen's documents into LaTeX and different approach to tagging of documents are useful in the research area.
