Abstract

Recently it was found that the differential cross sections of elastic Nd scattering below 150 MeV can be well reproduced by incorporating a 3NF in Faddeev calculations based on modern nucleon-nucleon (NN) interactions. On the other hand, the differential cross sections for nd and pd at 250 MeV show large discrepancies between the data and the Faddeev calculations with a 3NF. This indicates the existence of the missing features of the three nucleon force in this energy region. For the next step in the 3NF study, we have measured the vector analyzing power Ay and the differential cross sections for the 2H(pvector ,pp)n breakup reaction at 250 MeV. The experiment was carried out by detecting two protons in the final state with using the double-armed spectrometer Grand Raiden (GR) and the Large Acceptance Spectrometer (LAS) at the Research Center for Nuclear Physics (RCNP). Abstract

Reaction cross sections (σR) for 12C beam on 9Be, 12C, and 27Al targets and for 11Be beam on 9Be target were precisely measured systematically in the intermediate energy range. Abstract

Reaction cross sections (σR) for 6He and 8He have been measured on 9Be, 12C, and 27Al targets at intermediate energies. We deduced the nucleon density distribution of 6He and 8He through our data with the use of modified Glauber calculation. Abstract

Interaction cross sections (σI) for Ne isotopes from the stability line to the vicinity of neutron-drip line have been measured using the RIBF facility at RIKEN. Measurements have been performed for 20–32Ne on C target at energies around 240 MeV/nucleon. A large enhancement of σI beyond the systematics of stable nuclei have been observed for neutron-rich Ne isotopes. Abstract

Reaction cross sections for 11Be and 8B on proton targets at 40A - 120A MeV have been measured by the transmission method. With these data, we can discuss the proton- and neutron- density distributions at the nuclear surface independently in principle using the Glauber theory. Abstract: Interaction cross sections have been measured for spin-aligned nuclear beams of deformed nucleus. The spin-aligned nuclear beams were created by selecting the momentum of fragments produced in the projectile fragmentation of intermediate energy heavy-ion beams. Abstract

17Ne is one of the candidates for a proton-halo nucleus. In order to make the halo structure of 17Ne clear, we studied the density distribution of 17Ne through the reaction cross sections σR. As a consequence, it is suggested from σR data that 17Ne has a long tail in the density, which is consistent with an occupancy of the 2s1/2 orbital by the two valence protons.
