The article presents a study which examined student evaluations of 43 Child and Family Development courses. Analysis of variance was used to assess class meeting time, class size, expected grade, perceived fairness of grading procedures, pre-course interest in subject and post-course interest in the subject. Based on these variables, the authors concluded that post-course interest in the material was a stronger predictor of instructor ratings than pre-course interest in the material. Individual factors are more influential on students' rating of instructors.
