Mathematics teachers in community colleges in six western states were surveyed concerning their use of the guidelines of the Committee on the Undergraduate Program in Mathematics, enrollment, and teachers' education and organizational affiliations. (SD)

Mathematics courses aimed at students who plan to continue far enough with business or social science education to need statistics and perhaps computer science are discussed in general. A method for increasing student participation in these courses is suggested. (DT)
