The article reports on the acquisition of William Faulkner's "Rowan Oak Papers" by the University of Mississippi Faulkner Collection in Oxford, Mississippi. The papers contain almost 1,800 pages of hand written working drafts and typescripts of early novels and short stories. The papers are believed to be lost and found on August 31, 1970 in a broom closet under the stairway in the front entrance of Faulkner's residence.
