Abstract

The article discusses a prospective cohort study which looked at Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) carriage and acquisition of skin and soft tissue infections (SSTIs) among recruits enrolled in the British Royal Marines Commando Training Programme. Carriage patterns and characteristics of skin and soft tissue infections are discussed. According to the article, S. aureus carriage rates decreased throughout training.
