More and more attention has been paid to food safety. Due to the overuse and misuse of antibiotics, the problem of antibiotic residues in animal food is one of the important challenges to ensure food safety. The development of a feasible strategy to detect antibiotic residues in animal food has become desirable. In this paper, we creatively synthesize a water-stable fluorescence sensing material, namely, Co(Ⅱ)-Coordination polymer [Co 2 (CA) (L) 0.5 (H 2 O) 3 ] n (L = 1,4-bis(imidazole-1-ylmethyl) benzene, CA= Citric acid). The single crystal X-ray diffraction shows that it crystallizes in tetragonal space group I-4. It is worth mentioning that there exists the rare Co 4 (μ 3 -O) 4 cubane cluster structure and Co 8 cluster units. Those adjacent Co 8 cluster units are connected into an infinite two-dimensional net structure by four flexible bridged L ligands. Finally, the Co(Ⅱ)-Coordination polymer (CP) further develops into the three-dimensional supramolecular structure via the hydrogen bonds of O-H⋯O and C-H⋯O. It could selectively detect the antibiotic-nitrofurantoin (NFT) residue by way of fluorescence quenching, Co-CP for the detection of NFT shows broad linearity from 0 to 200 μM, with a detection limit of 0.13 μM and strong anti-interference ability. Although cobalt (Co) plays a significant role in the transition to low-carbon technologies, its environmental impact remains largely unknown. This study examines Co impacts on the prokaryotic communities within river biofilms to evaluate their potential use as bioindicators of Co contamination. To this end, biofilms were cultivated in artificial streams enriched with different environmental Co concentrations (0.1, 0.5, and 1 μM Co) over 28 days and examined for prokaryotic abundance and diversity via quantitative PCR and DNA-metabarcoding every 7 days. The prokaryotic community's resilience was further investigated after an additional 35 days without Co contamination. The prokaryotic communities were affected by 0.5 and 1 μM Co from the onset of biofilm colonization. The biofilm biomass was comparable between treatments, but the community composition differed. Control biofilms were dominated by Cyanobacteria and Planctomycetes, whereas Bacteroidetes dominated the Co-contaminated biofilms. Potential functional redundancy was observed through the implementation of carbon fixation alternatives by non-photosynthetic prokaryotes in biofilms exposed to high Co concentrations. No structural resilience was observed in the biofilms after 35 days without Co contamination. The main pressing problems should be solved for heterogeneous catalysts in activation of peroxymonosulfate (PMS) are sluggish mass transfer kinetics and low intrinsic activity. Here, oxygen vacancies (Vo)-rich of Co 3 O 4 nanosheets were anchored on the superficies of spirulina-based reduced graphene oxide-konjac glucomannan (KGM) aerogel (R-Co 3 O 4-x /SRGA). The porous structure and superhydrophilicity conferred by KGM maximized the diffusion and transport of reactant. More interestingly, R-Co 3 O 4-x /SRGA came true self-suspension rather than conventional self-floating without the aid of external force, maximizing space utilization and facilitating catalysts recovery. Anchored R-Co 3 O 4-x nanosheets acted as "engines" to drive the reaction. Density functional theory (DFT) manifested Vo was capable of breaking the symmetry of the electronic structure of Co 3 O 4 . The formation of asymmetric active sites (Vo) was revealed to modulate the d-band center, enhanced affinity for PMS, and promoted evolution of high-valent cobalt-oxo (Co(IV)=O) species. R-Co 3 O 4-x /SRGA achieved complete removal of sulfamethoxazole (SMX) within 12 min. Furthermore, R-Co 3 O 4-x /SRGA demonstrated exceptional stability in the presence of various environmental interference factors and continuous flow device. This work investigated the range of substitution of two biologically relevant ions, namely Mn 2+ and Co 2+ , into the structure of β-tricalcium phosphate, as well as their influence on bone cells response. To this aim, β-TCP was synthesized by solid state reaction in the presence of increasing amount of the substituent ions. The results of the X-ray diffraction analysis reveal that just limited amounts of these ions can enter into the β-TCP structure: 15 at% and 20 at% for cobalt and manganese, respectively. Substitution provokes aggregation of the micrometric particles and reduction of the lattice constants. In particular, the dimension of the c-parameter exhibits a discontinuity at about 10 at% for both cations, although with different trend. Moreover, Rietveld refinement demonstrates a clear preference of both manganese and cobalt for the octahedral site (V). The influence of these ions on cell response was tested on osteoblast, osteoclast and endothelial cells. The results indicate that the presence of manganese promotes a good osteoblast viability, significantly enhances the expression of osteoblast key genes and the angiogenic process of endothelial cells, while inhibiting osteoclast resorption. At variance, osteoblast viability appears reduced in the presence of Co samples, on which osteoblast genes reach higher expression than on β-TCP just in a few cases. Despite the beneficial effects of antibiotics such as chloramphenicol (CAP), they exert some destructive impacts on human health. We designed an electrochemical sensor based on reduced graphene oxide (rGO)/Au/Co 2 CuS 4 nanohybrid for determination of CAP in food and biological samples. The Co 2 CuS 4 was synthesized from binuclear metal-organic framework (CoCu-BDC) through a two-step process. Nanohybrid was characterized by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and transmission electron microscopy. The rGO/Au/Co 2 CuS 4 provides more active sites and good electrical conductivity to reduce charge transfer resistance and improve the electrocatalytic activity for determination of CAP. The prepared sensor has a wide linear range from 7 to 141 nM with a limit of detection of 2.5 nM and a limit of quantification of 21.92 nM. It also provided high selectivity and repeatability with a relative standard deviation of 2.6%. The abuse of kanamycin (KAN) poses an increasing threat to human health by contaminating agricultural and animal husbandry products, drinking water, and more. Therefore, the sensitive detection of trace KAN residues in real samples is crucial for monitoring agricultural pollution, ensuring food safety, and diagnosing diseases. However, traditional assay techniques for KAN rely on bulky instruments and complicated operations with unsatisfactory detection limits. Herein, we developed a novel label-free aptasensor to achieve ultrasensitive detection of KAN by constructing mesoporous DNA-cobalt@carbon nanofibers (DNA-Co@C-NFs) as the recognizer. Leveraging the extended π-conjugation structure, prominent surface area, and abundant pores, the Co@C-NFs can effectively load aptamer strands via π-π stacking interactions, serving as KAN capturer and reporter. Due to the change in DNA configuration upon binding KAN, this aptasensor presented an ultralow detection limit and ultra-wide linear range, along with favorable precision and selectivity. Using real tap water, milk, and human serum samples, the aptasensor accurately reported trace KAN levels. Metal-nitrogen (M-N) coupling has shown promise as a catalytic active component for various reactions. However, the regulation of heterogeneous catalytic materials with M-N coupling for peroxymonosulfate (PMS) activation to enhance the degradation efficiency and reusability of antibiotics remains a challenge. In this study, an efficient modulation of M-N coupling was achieved through the incorporation of Cu into Co 4 N to form a Cu-Co 4 N composite with sea urchin-like morphology assembled by numerous nano-needles using hydrothermal and nitriding processes. This modulation led to enhanced PMS activation for ciprofloxacin (CIP) degradation. The Cu-Co 4 N/PMS system demonstrated exceptional removal efficiency with a degradation rate of 95.85% within 30 min and can be reused for five time without obvious loss of its initial activity. Additionally, the catalyst displayed a high capacity for degrading various challenging organic pollutants, as well as remarkable stability, resistance to interferences, and adaptability to pH changes. The synergistic effect between Co and Cu facilitated multiple redox cycles, resulting in the generation of reactive oxidized species. The primary active species involved in the catalytic degradation process included 1 O 2 , SO 4 •- , O 2 •- , • OH, and e - , with 1 O 2 and SO 4 •- playing the most significant roles. The degradation pathways and toxicity of the intermediates for CIP were unveiled. The escalating oxidative stress has heightened the daily human demand for diverse antioxidants. Therefore, development of the novel approaches to assess the total antioxidant capacity (TAC) of various nutrients is essential. In this study, drawing inspiration from the active site of native peroxidase enzymes, a novel peroxidase (POD)-like nanozyme was developed based on the cobalt ferrite (CoFe 2 O 4 ) nanoparticles functionalized with different catalytic amino acids. Based on the TMB/H 2 O 2 colorimetric system, the most substantial enhancement in POD-like activity was obtained by the glutamic acid coating among different charged amino acids studied, with more than 74% increase in specific activity compared to the bare CoFe 2 O 4 . A signal-off colorimetric sensing platform based on the obtained nanobiocatalyst was developed for the accurate quantification of the antioxidant capacity of phenolic compounds and vitamin C. Even while accelerated cardiomyocyte apoptosis is one of the primary causes of cardiac damage, the underlying mechanism is still mostly unknown. In addition to examining potential protective effects of bisoprolol and diosmin against CoCl2-induced cardiac injury, the goal of this study was to identify potential mechanisms regulating the hypoxic cardiac damage caused by cobalt chloride (CoCl2). For a period of 21 days except Cocl2 14 days from the first day of the experiment, rats were split into the following groups: Normal control group, rats received vehicle only (2 ml/kg/day, p.o.), (Cocl2, 150 mg/kg/day, p.o.), bisoprolol (25 mg/kg/day, p.o.); diosmin (100 mg/kg/day, p.o.) and bisoprolol + diosmin + Cocl2 groups. At the end of the experimental period, serum was taken for estimation of cardiac function, lipid profile, and pro/anti-inflammatory cytokines. Moreover, tissue samples were collected for evaluation of oxidative stress, endothelial dysfunction, α-SMA, PKC-α, MiR-143-3P, MAPK, ERK5, MCP-1, CXCR4, Orai-1, and STIM-1. Diosmin and bisoprolol, either alone or in combination, enhance heart function by reducing abnormalities in the electrocardiogram and the hypotension brought on by CoCl2. Additionally, they significantly ameliorate endothelial dysfunction by downregulating the cardiac expressions of α-SMA, PKC-α, MiR-143-3P, MAPK, ERK5, MCP-1, CXCR4, Orai-1, and STIM-1. Bisoprolol and diosmin produced modulatory activity against inflammatory state, redox balance, and atherogenic index concurrently. Together, diosmin and bisoprolol, either alone or in combination, significantly reduced all the cardiac alterations brought on by CoCl2. Micro-LiNiCoMnO 2 (MNCM), a cathode material with highest market share, has increasing demand with the growth of lithium battery industry. However, whether MNCM exposure brings adverse effects to workers remains unclear. This study aimed to explore the association between MNCM exposure with systemic inflammation and cardiac function. A cross-sectional study of 347 workers was undertaken from the MNCM production industry in Guangdong province, China in 2020. Metals in urine were measured using ICP-MS. The associations between metals, systemic inflammation, and cardiac function were appraised using a linear or logistic regression model. Bayesian kernel machine regression (BKMR) and generalized weighted quantile sum (gWQS) models were used to explore mixed metal exposures. The analysis of interaction and mediation was adopted to assess the role of inflammation in the relation between urinary metals and cardiac function. We observed that the levels of lithium (Li) and cobalt (Co) were positively associated with systemic inflammation and heart rate. The amount of Co contributed the highest weight on the increased systemic immune-inflammation index (SII) (59.8%), the system inflammation response index (SIRI) (44.3%), and heart rate (65.0%). Based on the mediation analysis, we estimated that SII mediated 32.3% and 20.9% of the associations between Li and Co with heart rate, and SIRI mediated 44.6% and 22.2% of the associations between Li and Co with heart rate, respectively. This study demonstrated for the first time that MNCM exposure increased the risk of workers' systemic inflammation and elevated heart rate, which were contributed by the excessive Li and Co exposure. This study investigates the eco-friendly extraction of metal oxides from LCO and NMC batteries using supercritical water. Experiments were conducted at 450 °C with a feed rate of 5 mL min -1 and varying battery/PVC ratios (0.0, 2.0, and 3.0). The products were analyzed by X-ray diffractometry (XRD), atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). Results show the presence of cobalt chloride (CoCl 2 ) and lithium (Li) in the liquid products, achieving 100% cobalt recovery under all conditions. The gaseous products obtained hydrogen with molar compositions up to 78.3% and 82.7% for LCO:PVC and NMC:PVC batteries, respectively, after 60 min of reaction. Although citric acid (CA) has antioxidant, antibacterial, and acidulating properties, chronic ingestion of CA can cause urolithiasis, hypocalcemia, and duodenal cancer, emphasizing the need for early detection. There are very few documented electrochemical-based sensing methods for CA detection due to the challenging behavior of electrode fouling caused by reactive oxidation products. In this study, a novel, non-enzymatic, and economical electrochemical sensor based on cobalt oxide nanoparticles (CoO x NPs) is successfully reported for detection CA. The CoO x NPs were synthesized through a simple thermal decomposition method and characterized by SEM, FT-IR, EDX, and XRD techniques. The proposed sensing platform was optimized by various parameters, including pH (7.0), time (15 min), and concentration of nanoparticles (100 mM) etc. In a linear range of 0.05-2500 μM, a low detection limit (LOD) of 0.13 μM was achieved. Theoretical calculations (ΔRT), confirmed hydrogen bonding and electrostatic interactions between CoO x NPs and CA. The detection method exhibited high selectivity in real media like food and biological samples, with good recovery values when compared favorably to the HPLC method. An electrochemiluminescence (ECL) biosensor based on ECL resonance energy transfer (ECL-RET) was designed to sensitively detect hepatitis B virus surface antigen (HBsAg). In this ECL-RET system, luminol was employed as ECL donor, and gold nanoparticles functionalized zirconium organoskeleton (UiO-66-NH 2 @Au) was prepared and served as ECL acceptor. The UiO-66-NH 2 @Au possessed an ultraviolet-visible (UV-vis) absorption between 400 nm and 500 nm, and the absorption spectra overlapped with the ECL spectrum of luminol. Furthermore, Graphene oxide-poly(aniline-luminol)-cobalt nanoparticles conjugates (GO-PALu-Co) was prepared to optimize the ECL behavior through the catalysis of Cobalt nanoparticles and served as a stable 3D porous film to load capture probe primary antibody (Ab 1 ). Based on the ECL-RET biosensing method, the UiO-66-NH 2 @Au-labeled Ab 2 and target HBsAg could pair with primary antibody Ab 1 to form sandwich-type structure, and the ECL signal of GO-PALu-Co was quenched. Under optimized experimental conditions, the ECL-RET analytical method represented eminent analytical performance for HBsAg detection with a wide linear relationship from 2.2 × 10 -13 to 2.2 × 10 -5 mg/mL, and a detection limit of 9 × 10 -14 mg/mL (S/N = 3), with spiked sample recoveries ranging from 97.27 % to 102.73 %. The constructed sensor has good stability, reproducibility, and specificity. For hazardous gas monitoring and non-invasive diagnosis of diabetes using breath analysis, porous foams assembled by Co 3 O 4 nanoparticles were designed as sensing electrode materials to fabricate efficient yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ)-based acetone sensors. The sensitivity of the sensors was improved by varying the sintering temperature to regulate the morphology. Compared to other materials sintered at different temperatures, the porous Co 3 O 4 nanofoams sintered at 800 °C exhibited the highest electrochemical catalytic activity during the electrochemical test. The response of the corresponding Co 3 O 4 -based sensor to 10 ppm acetone was -77.2 mV and it exhibited fast response and recovery times. Moreover, the fabricated sensor achieved a low detection limit of 0.05 ppm and a high sensitivity of -56 mV/decade in the acetone concentration range of 1-20 ppm. The sensor also exhibited excellent repeatability, acceptable selectivity, good O 2 /humidity resistance, and long-term stability during continuous measurements for over 30 days. Moreover, the fabricated sensor was used to determine the acetone concentration in the exhaled breaths of patients with diabetic ketosis. The results indicated that it could distinguish between healthy individuals and patients with diabetic ketosis, thereby proving its abilities to diagnose and monitor diabetic ketosis. With the e-waste growing rapidly all over the globe due to growing demand of electronics, smartphones, etc., coming up with an efficient and sustainable recycling process is the need of the hour. The present work reports a novel and sustainable process of manufacturing Ni alloy by bringing together three major waste streams such as waste Ni-MH batteries, e-waste plastics, and waste glass. The chosen temperature (1550 °C) favours the reduction of nickel-oxide by e-waste plastic as the reductant and sends rare earth elements present in the waste Ni-MH battery as oxide mixture to the slag phase. Waste glass powder used in this process functions as the fluxing agent, hence not requiring any additional flux. The reduction mechanism is gas-based, controlled mainly by hydrogen and carbon monoxide gases released as a result of decomposition of e-waste plastic as reaction commenced from cold zone (∼300 °C) to hot zone (1550 °C) in the horizontal tubular furnace. Formation of nickel alloy and enrichment of slag with mixture of rare earth oxides were confirmed by XRD, SEM-EDS, and Rietveld refining analysis performed on the XRD spectra of slag phase. ICP-OES (Inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectroscopy) and LIBS (laser induced breakdown spectrometer KT-100S) confirmed the high metal content in the alloy, thereby emphasizing the purity (∼98%) which is close to the composition of nickel super alloy. A maximum of 61% by weight REO enrichment was achieved in the slag phase, having La 2 O 3 :44.6%, Pr 2 O 3 :14.8%, and Nd 2 O 3 : 1.6% under optimised experimental conditions (1550 °C, 15 min, and 20% waste glass powder). Nicotinamide, known as Vitamin-B3, has shown promising potential in improving various medical conditions. Carbacylamidophosphates (CAPh) are versatile phosphoramide ligands with a wide range of applications in both biochemistry and chemistry. Herein, to obtain compounds with enhanced anticancer activity and study the effect of the structure on this activity, four new Co(II) complexes of vitaminB3-based CAPh ligands with the formula of CoCl 2 [3-NC 5 H 4 CONHPO(NC 5 H 10 ) 2 ] 2 (C 1 ), CoCl 2 [3-NC 5 H 4 CONHPO(NC 5 H 9 CH 3 ) 2 ] 2 (C 2 ), CoCl 2 [3-NC 5 H 4 CONHPO(NC 6 H 12 ) 2 ] 2 (C 3 ), and CoCl 2 [3-NC 5 H 4 CONHPO(NC 4 H 10 ) 2 ] 2 (C 4 ) were designed and synthesized. FT-IR, UV-Vis, Atomic Absorption (AAS), 1 H, 13 C, and 31 PNMR, and Mass spectroscopies beside CHN and Molar conductivity methods were utilized to characterize the synthesized compounds. Using MTT-assay and Flow Cytometry, the anticancer effects of these complexes were studied on three distinct cell lines, including one normal cell line (MCF10A) and two cancer cell lines (MDA-MB-231, MCF-7). Results showed that our ligands could form complexes by coordinating with cobalt, which, not only have a very strong killing effect on cancer cells but also have a higher level of safety for normal cells and are more cost-efficient than Cisplatin. C 3 was the most effective complex at inhibiting the growth of MCF-7 and MDA-MB-231 cells which exhibited a remarkable 97.5 % reduction in cancer cell growth and a Selectivity Index up to > 37. The use of modified clays can play an effective role as an effective adsorbent in removing fluoride (Flu) ions from water and aqueous solutions. In the present research, montmorillonite clay (MMt) was modified using CoFe 2 O 4 magnetic particles and Al-Fe fumarate metal-organic framework (Al-Fe Fum) and was utilized as an efficient adsorbent for removing Flu from aqueous solution. The properties of MMt and MMt/CoFe 2 O 4 /Al-Fe Fum samples were investigated using different techniques. The results showed that with the modification of MMt using CoFe 2 O 4 magnetic particles and the metal-organic framework of Al-Fe Fum, the BET surface has increased notably from 13.217 to 365.80 m 2 /g. To investigate the effect of independent variables and their interaction on the efficiency of the Flu adsorption, response surface method-central compound design (RSM-CCD) was served. Based on the results of ANOVA, the F-value and p-value parameters for the desired model were determined to be 783.09 and < 0.0001, respectively, which confirms the success and high ability of the model. The number of R 2 , adjusted R 2 , and Predicted R 2 for adsorption of Flu ion was determined to be 0.998, 0.997, and 0.995, respectively, which shows that the proposed regression model can describe the process of adsorption and interaction between variables well. Compared to other kinetic models, the pseudo 2nd order kinetic model has a greater ability to describe the Flu adsorption behavior. The R 2 parameter value determined that the Freundlich isotherm model has a suitable ability to investigate the isotherm behavior and confirms the effect of heterogeneous surfaces in the process. Strontium, cobalt, and manganese ions are present in the composition of bone and useful for bone metabolism, even when combined with calcium phosphate in the composition of biomaterials. Herein we explored the possibility to include these ions in the composition of apatitic materials prepared through the cementitious reaction between ion-substituted calcium phosphate dibasic dihydrate, CaHPO 4 ·2H 2 O (DCPD) and tetracalcium phosphate, Ca 4 (PO 4 ) 2 O (TTCP). The results of the chemical, structural, morphological and mechanical characterization indicate that cobalt and manganese exhibit a greater delaying effect than strontium (about 15 at.%) on the cementitious reaction, even though they are present in smaller amounts within the materials (about 0.8 and 4.5 at.%, respectively). Furthermore, the presence of the foreign ions in the apatitic materials leads to a slight reduction of porosity and to enhancement of compressive strength. The results of biological tests show that the presence of strontium and manganese, as well as calcium, in the apatitic materials cultured in direct contact with human mesenchymal stem cells (hMSCs) stimulates their viability and activity. In contrast, the apatitic material containing cobalt exhibits a lower metabolic activity. All the materials have a positive effect on the expression of Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF) and Von Willebrand Factor (vWF). Nickel-manganese-cobalt tetragonal spinel ternary oxide nanocomposite (NMC-TSO) was synthesized. It was utilized as an efficient sorbent for the dispersive solid phase microextraction (D-SPμE) without vortexing of cadmium. The analysis of the cadmium was carried out by FAAS. The effective analytical parameters including pH (6) contact times (no vortexing), sample volume (70 mL), eluent volume (3 mL of 2 mol L -1 HCl), linear dynamic ranges (1.07-85.7 μg L -1 ), and re-useability (33) on the D-SPμE efficiency were investigated. The PF, RSD% and LOD of the D-SPμE for cadmium were 23.3, ≤ 2.8% and 0.49 μg L -1 , respectively. The tolerable concentrations of Ca 2+ , Mg 2+ , K + and Na + on Cd(II) were 50,000 mg L -1 , 50,000 mg L -1 , 25,000 mg L -1 and 7500 mg L -1 , respectively. Low activation performance is a critical issue limiting the practical application of low-cost biochar in the advanced oxidation. Given the high potential of transition metals in the persulfate activation process and abundant oxygen-containing groups of hydrochar, hydrochar derived from cobalt (Co)-modified iron (Fe)-enriched sludge was synthesized and its performance and activation mechanism for the degradation of triclosan were investigated. Co modification significantly altered the morphology of hydrochar, and the increased Co-Fe mass ratios transformed hydrochar from granular to rose-shaped lamellar and then to helical sheet structures. Specific surface area, defect degree, and oxygen-containing groups of hydrochar increased with increasing cobalt-iron mass ratios. The highest removal of triclosan was up to 98% in the hydrochar/peroxymonosulfate (PMS) system under a wide range of pHs (3-10) and still remained higher than 90% after four cycles. Both Radical (mainly hydroxyl radical) and nonradical pathways (singlet oxygen and electron transfer) were evidenced to play roles in the triclosan removal. Fe 3+ promoted the regeneration of Co 2+ and realized the efficient circulation of Co 3+ /Co 2+ . A ternary system consisting of electron donor (triclosan)-electron mediator (hydrochar)-electron acceptor (PMS) provided channels for electron transfer. No measurable Co and Fe were released during the reaction, and the toxicity of degradation intermediates was lower than that of triclosan. Beside triclosan, rhodamine B, bisphenol A, sulfamethoxazole, and phenol were also almost degraded completely in this oxidation system. Taking into account that natural polymers are renewable and biodegradable, hybrid materials based on natural polymers are required for advanced technological applications with reduced environmental footprint. In this work, sustainable composites have been developed based on collagen as a polymeric matrix and different magnetic fillers, in order to tailor magnetic response. The composites were prepared by solution casting with 30 wt% of magnetite nanoparticles (Fe 3 O 4 NPs), magnetite nanorods (Fe 3 O 4 NRs) or cobalt ferrite nanoparticles (CoFe 2 O 4 NPs). It is shown that the magnetic filler type has no bearing on the morphology, physical-chemical, or thermal characteristics of the composites, whereas the mechanical properties are determined by the magnetic filler, leading to a reduction in tensile strength, with values of 4.95 MPa for Fe 3 O 4 NPs, 9.20 MPa for Fe 3 O 4 NRs and 5.21 MPa for CoFe 2 O 4 NPs containing samples. However, the highest magnetization saturation is obtained for Fe 3 O 4 NPs (44 emu.g -1 ) and the higher coercive field for CoFe 2 O 4 NPs (2062 Oe). As anthropogenic disturbance on deep-sea seamount ecosystems grows, there is an urgent need for a better understanding of the biodiversity and community structure in benthic ecosystems, which can vary at local and regional scales. A survey of the benthic megafauna on two adjacent deep-water seamounts in the northwestern Pacific Ocean was conducted, which are covered by cobalt-rich crusts, to assess the biodiversity patterns and dissimilarity of assemblage composition. Based on a multidisciplinary dataset generated from video recordings, multibeam bathymetry data, and near-bottom currents, environmental and spatial factors impacting the megabenthic communities were explored. Results showed that these two deep-water seamounts were dominated by hexactinellids, crinoids, and octocorals. The seamounts were able to support diverse and moderately abundant megafauna, with a total of 6436 individuals classified into 94 morphospecies. The survey covered a distance of 52.2 km across a depth range of 1421-3335 m, revealing multiple distinct megabenthic assemblages. The megabenthic communities of the two deep-water seamounts, with comparable environmental conditions, exhibited similarities in overall density, richness, and faunal lists, while dissimilarities in the relative abundance of taxa and assemblage composition. No gradual depth-related change in terms of abundance, richness, or species turnover was observed across the two seamounts, despite the statistical significance of depth in structuring the overall communities. The spatial distribution of megabenthic communities displayed a discontinuous and patchy pattern throughout the two deep-water seamounts. This patchiness was driven by the interactive effects of multiple environmental factors. Near-bottom currents and microhabitat features were the primary drivers influencing their dissimilarities in megabenthic community structure. The present research utilizes a sol-gel approach to create a CoFe 2 O 4 /g-C 3 N 4 nanocomposite (NC) and explored several analytical methods to evaluate physical, chemical and optical based characteristics via XRD, FTIR, UV-vis, SEM/EDS and XPS for the prepared pure CoFe 2 O 4 , g-C 3 N 4 , and CoFe 2 O 4 /g-C 3 N 4 NC. The XRD results show that the prepared g-C 3 N 4 , CoFe 2 O 4 , exhibits hexagonal and cubic phases respectively, whereas the g-C 3 N 4 /CoFe 2 O 4 NC exhibit mixing of two phases. The energy band gaps for pure g-C 3 N 4 , CoFe 2 O 4 and g-C 3 N 4 /CoFe 2 O 4 NC values are viz., 2.75, 1.3, and 2.4 eV. As photocatalysts, synthesized materials were utilized for the decomposition of Rhodamine-B (RhB) dye. Finally, the CoFe 2 O 4 /g-C 3 N 4 NC showed good performance of photocatalysis for RhB dye disintegration under the stimulus of visible light. According to the induced visible light, the rate at which the photocatalytic degradation occurs for the CoFe 2 O 4 /g-C 3 N 4 NC was found to be 57% in 120 min and this is greater when compared with pure catalysts like CoFe 2 O 4 (28%) and g-C 3 N 4 (10%). Novel catalysts with multiple active sites and rapid separation are required to effectively activate peroxymonosulfate (PMS) for the removal of organic pollutants from water. Therefore, an integrated catalyst for PMS activation was developed by directly forming Co-Fe Prussian blue analogs on a three-dimensional porous nickel foam (NF), which were subsequently phosphorylated to obtain cobalt-iron bimetallic phosphide (FeCoP@NF). The FeCoP@NF/PMS system efficiently degraded dye wastewater within 20 min. The system exhibited excellent catalytic degradation over a broad pH range and at high dye concentrations due to the presence of unique asymmetrically charged Co a+ and P b- dual active sites formed by cobalt phosphides within FeCoP@NF. These active sites significantly enhanced the catalytic activity of PMS. The activation mechanism of PMS involves phosphorylation that accelerates electron transfer from FeCoP@NF to PMS, to generate SO 4 · - , ·OH, O 2 · - , and 1 O 2 active species. Three-dimensional FeCoP@NF could be readily recycled and showed good stability for PMS activation. In this study, a highly efficient, stable, and readily recyclable integrated catalyst was developed. In this study, we report the development of a novel CuO x (3 wt%)/CoFe 2 O 4 nanocubes (NCs) photocatalyst through simple co-precipitation and wet impregnation methods for the efficient photocatalytic degradation of triclosan (TCS) pollutants. Initially, rod-shaped bare CoFe 2 O 4 was synthesized using a simple co-precipitation technique. Subsequently, CuO x was loaded in various percentages (1, 2, and 3 wt%) onto the surface of bare CoFe 2 O 4 nanorods (NRs) via the wet impregnation method. The synthesized materials were systematically characterized to evaluate their composition, structural and electrical characteristics. The CuO x (3 wt%)/CoFe 2 O 4 NCs photocatalyst exhibited superior photocatalytic degradation efficiency of TCS (89.9%) compared to bare CoFe 2 O 4 NRs (62.1 %), CuO x (1 wt%)/CoFe 2 O 4 (80.1 %), CuO x (2 wt%)/CoFe 2 O 4 (87.0 %) under visible light (VL) irradiation (λ ≥ 420 nm), respectively. This enhanced performance was attributed to the improved separation effectiveness of photogenerated electron (e - ) and hole (h + ) in CuO x (3 wt%)/CoFe 2 O 4 NCs. Furthermore, the optimized CuO x (3 wt%)/CoFe 2 O 4 NCs exhibited strong stability and reusability in TCS degradation, as demonstrated by three successive cycles. Genetic screening on Caenorhabditis elegans showed that CuO x (3 wt%)/CoFe 2 O 4 NCs reduced ROS-induced oxidative stress during TCS photocatalytic degradation. ROS levels decreased at 30, 60, and 120-min intervals during TCS degradation, accompanied by improved egg hatching rates. Additionally, expression levels of stress-responsible antioxidant proteins like SOD-3GFP and HSP-16.2GFP were significantly normalized. The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has prohibited the use of clenbuterol (CLN) because it induces anabolic muscle growth while potentially causing adverse effects such as palpitations, anxiety, and muscle tremors. Thus, it is vital to assess meat quality because, athletes might have positive test for CLN even after consuming very low quantity of CLN contaminated meat. Numerous materials applied for CLN monitoring faced potential challenges like sluggish ion transport, non-uniform ion/molecule movement, and inadequate electrode surface binding. To overcome these shortcomings, herein we engineered bimetallic zeolitic imidazole framework (BM-ZIF) derived N-doped porous carbon embedded Co nanoparticles (CN-CoNPs), dispersed on conductive cellulose acetate-polyaniline (CP) electrospun nanofibers for sensitive electrochemical monitoring of CLN. Interestingly, the smartly designed CN-CoNPs wrapped CP (CN-CoNPs-CP) electrospun nanofibers offers rapid diffusion of CLN molecules to the sensing interface through amine and imine groups of CP, thus minimizing the inhomogeneous ion transportation and inadequate electrode surface binding. Additionally, to synchronize experiments, machine learning (ML) algorithms were applied to optimize, predict, and validate voltametric current responses. The ML-trained sensor demonstrated high selectivity, even amidst interfering substances, with notable sensitivity (4.7527 μA/μM/cm 2 ), a broad linear range (0.002-8 μM), and a low limit of detection (1.14 nM). Furthermore, the electrode exhibited robust stability, retaining 98.07% of its initial current over a 12-h period. This ML-powered sensing approach was successfully employed to evaluate meat quality in terms of CLN level. In recent studies, carbon nanotube (CNTs) materials and their composites have demonstrated remarkable catalytic activity in the activation of persulfate (PS), facilitating the efficient degradation of organic pollutants. In this study, a novel Co loaded carbon nanotubes (CoO@CNT) catalyst was prepared to promote PDS activation for the degradation of sulfafurazole (SIZ). Experimental results, the CNT as a carrier effectively reduces the leaching of cobalt ions and improves the electron transport capacity，whereas the introduced Co effectively activates the PDS, promoting the generation of highly reactive radicals to degrade SIZ. Under optimized conditions (a catalyst dose of 0.2 g/L, a PDS dose of 1 g/L and an initial pH = 9.0), the obtained CoO@CNT demonstrated favorable Fenton-like performance, reaching a degradation efficiency of 95.55% within 30 min. Furthermore, density functional theory (DFT) calculations demonstrate that the introduction of cobalt (Co) accelerates electron transfer, promoting the decomposition of PDS while facilitating the Co 2+ /Co 3+ redox cycling. We further employed the environmental chemistry and risk assessment system (ECOSAR) to evaluate the ecological toxicity of intermediate products, revealing a significant reduction in ecological toxicity associated with this degradation process, thereby confirming its environmental harmlessness. Through batch experiments and studies, we gained a comprehensive understanding of the mechanism and influencing factors of CoO@CNT in the role of SIZ degradation, and provided robust support for evaluating the ecological toxicity of degradation products. Cancer antigen 125 (CA125) is pivotal as a tumor marker in early ovarian cancer prevention and diagnosis. In this work, we introduced an ultrasensitive label-free electrochemical immunosensor tailored for CA125 detection, leveraging nanogold-functionalized copper-cobalt oxide nanosheets (CuCo-ONSs@AuNPs) as nanocomposites. For the inaugural application, copper-cobalt oxide nanosheets delivered the requisite DPV electrochemical response for the immunosensors. Their large specific surface area and commendable electrical conductivity amplify electron transfer and enable significant gold nanoparticle loading. Concurrently, AuNPs offer a plethora of active sites, facilitating easy immobilization of biomolecules via the bond between amino groups and AuNPs. We employed scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy to characterize the nanomaterials' surface morphology and elemental composition. The electrochemical sensor response signals were ascertained using differential pulse voltammetry. Under optimal conditions, the immunosensor exhibited a linear detection range from 1×10 -7 U/mL to 1×10 -3 U/mL and a detection limit of 3.9×10 -8 U/mL (S/N=3). Background: Hydrogen peroxide (H 2 O 2 ) is an important reactive oxygen species (ROS) molecule involved in cell metabolism regulation, transcriptional regulation, and cytoskeleton remodeling. Real-time monitoring of H 2 O 2 levels in live cells is of great significance for disease prevention and diagnosis., Results: We utilized carbon cloth (CC) as the substrate material and employed a single-atom catalysis strategy to prepare a flexible self-supported sensing platform for the real-time detection of H 2 O 2 secreted by live cells. By adjusting the coordination structure of single-atom sites through P and S doping, a cobalt single-atom nanoenzyme Co-NC/PS with excellent peroxidase-like activity was obtained. Furthermore, we explored the enzyme kinetics and possible catalytic mechanism of Co-NC/PS. Due to the excellent flexibility, high conductivity, strong adsorption performance of carbon cloth, and the introduction of non-metallic atom-doped active sites, the developed Co-NC/PS@CC exhibited ideal sensing performance. Experimental results showed that the linear response range for H 2 O 2 was 1-17328 μM, with a detection limit (LOD) of 0.1687 μM. There has been increasing attention given to nickel-cobalt tailings (NCT), which pose a risk of heavy metal pollution in the field. In this study, on site tests and sampling analysis were conducted to assess the physical and chemical characteristics, heavy metal toxicity, and microbial diversity of the original NCT, solidified NCT, and the surrounding soil. The research results show that the potential heavy metal pollution species in NCT are mainly Ni, Co, Mn, and Cu. Simultaneous solidification and passivation of heavy metals in NCT were achieved, resulting in a reduction in biological toxicity and a fivefold increase in seed germination rate. The compressive strength of the original tailings was increased by 20 times after solidification. The microbial diversity test showed that the abundance of microbial community in the original NCT was low and the population was monotonous. This study demonstrates, for the first time, that the use of NCT for solidification in ponds can effectively solidification of heavy metals, reduce biological toxicity, and promote microorganism diversity in mining areas (tended to the microbial ecosystem in the surrounding soil). Hypoxia has profound effects on cell physiology, both in normal or pathological settings like cancer. In this study, we asked whether a variant of coverslip-induced hypoxia that recapitulates the conditions found in the tumor microenvironment would elicit similar cellular responses compared to the well established model of cobalt chloride-induced hypoxia. Comparable levels of nuclear HIF-1α were observed after 24 h of coverslip-induced hypoxia or cobalt chloride treatment in CAL-27 oral squamous carcinoma cells. However, cellular stress levels assessed by reactive oxygen species production and lipid droplet accumulation were markedly increased in coverslip-induced hypoxia compared to cobalt chloride treatment. Conversely, mitochondrial ATP production sharply decreased after coverslip-induced hypoxia but was preserved in the presence of cobalt chloride. Coverslip-induced hypoxia also had profound effects in nuclear organization, assessed by changes in nuclear dry mass distribution, whereas these effects were much less marked after cobalt chloride treatment. Taken together, our results show that coverslip-induced hypoxia effects on cell physiology and structure are more pronounced than mimetic hypoxia induced by cobalt chloride treatment. Bioactive cobalt (II) macrocyclic complexes [Co(N 4 O 4 ML 1 )Cl 2 ]-[Co(N 4 O 4 ML 3 )Cl 2 ] have been synthesized by using the macrocyclic ligands [N 4 O 4 ML 1 ], [N 4 O 4 ML 2 ], and [N 4 O 4 ML 3 ] that have an N 4 O 4 core. These three macrocyclic ligands were all isolated in pure form, together with their complexes. Microanalytical investigations, FT-IR NMR, Mass, magnetic moments, electronic, PXRD, TGA, and EPR spectrum studies were used to analyse their structures. For these complexes, an octahedral geometry is proposed for the metal ion. By using molecular weights and conductivity measurements the monomeric and non-electrolytic nature has been confirmed. The Coats-Redfern and FWO methods are used to determine the thermodynamic characteristics of the ligands and their Co(II) complexes. The molecular modelling using the DFT technique displays the bond angle, bond lengths and quantum chemical properties. To determine their ability to prevent the growth of harmful fungus and bacteria, the ligands [N 4 O 4 ML 1 ]- [N 4 O 4 ML 3 ] and their complexes were tested in vitro against A. Niger, C. albicans and B. subtilis, S. aureus, E. coli and S. typhi fungal and bacterial organisms, respectively. By using DPPH free radical scavenger assays, the in vitro antioxidant capabilities of each compound were evaluated. The [Co(N 4 O 4 ML 3 )Cl 2 ] antioxidative capabilities revealed significant radical scavenging power. The MTT assay was used to assess the toxicity of all the synthesised compounds under inquiry on MCF-7, HeLa, and A549 cancer cells. The findings revealed that the ligand and the compounds gave outstanding IC 50 values in the range of 9.07-36.25 (uM) at a concentration of 25 ppm. Among all the substances evaluated, [Co(N 4 O 4 ML 3 )Cl 2 ] complex was discovered to be the most active and least cytotoxic. The practical, sensitive, and real-time detection of heavy metal ions is an essential and difficult problem. This study presents the design of a unique magnetic electrochemical detection system that can achieve real-time field detection. To enhance the electrochemical performance of the sensor, Fe 2 O 3 @C-800, Co/CoO@/C-600, and CoFe 2 O 4 @C-600 magnetic composites were synthesized using three MOFs precursors by the solvothermal method. And the morphology structure and electrochemical properties of as-prepared magnetic composites were researched by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM), specific surface area and porosity analyzer (BET) and differential pulse voltammetry (DPV). The results shown that these composites improve conductivity and stability while preserving the MOFs basic frame structure. Compared with the monometallic MOFs-derived composites, the synergistic effect of the bimetallic composite CoFe 2 O 4 @C-600 can significantly enhance the electrochemical performance of the sensor. The linear range for the detection of lead ions was 0.001-60 μM, and the detection limit was 0.0043 μM with a sensitivity of 22.22 μA μM·cm -2 by differential pulse voltammetry. Peracetic acid (PAA) has garnered significant attention as a novel disinfectant owing to its remarkable oxidative capacity and minimal potential to generate byproducts. In this study, we prepared a novel catalyst, denoted as cobalt modified nitrogen-doped carbon nanotubes (Co@N-CNTs), and evaluated it for PAA activation. Modification with cobalt nanoparticles (∼4.8 nm) changed the morphology and structure of the carbon nanotubes, and greatly improved their ability to activate PAA. Co@N-CNTs/PAA catalytic system shows outstanding catalytic degradation ability of antiviral drugs. Under neutral conditions, with a dosage of 0.05 g/L Co@N-CNT-9.8 and 0.25 mM PAA, the removal efficiency of acyclovir (ACV) reached 98.3% within a mere 10 min. The primary reactive species responsible for effective pollutant degradation were identified as acetylperoxyl radicals (CH 3 C(O)OO•) and acetyloxyl radicals (CH 3 C(O)O•). In addition, density functional theory (DFT) proved that Co nanoparticles, as the main catalytic sites, were more likely to adsorb PAA and transfer more electrons than N-doped graphene. In this paper, a proposal of closed bipolar electrode (BPE) and nanozyme based multi-mode biosensing platform is first presented. As a novel integrated chip, multi-mode-BPE (MMBPE) combines enzyme-linked immunoassay (ELISA), electrochemiluminescence (ECL), ECL imaging and light emitting diode (LED) imaging, enabling highly sensitive triple read-out visible detection of cancer embryonic antigen (CEA). The ECL probe Ab 2 @Au@Co 3 O 4 /CoFe 2 O 4 hollow nanocubes (HNCs) with excellent peroxidase (POD) activity is introduced into the BPE cathode through immune adsorption. The Au@Co 3 O 4 /CoFe 2 O 4 HNCs can increase the rate of hydrogen peroxide oxidation of TMB, thus promoting the reaction, and can be used for ELISA detection of CEA at different concentrations. The modification of the BPE sensing interface and reporting interface involved the introduction of the luminescent reagent Ru(bpy) 3 2+ to the BPE anode. The decomposition rate of H 2 O 2 increased under the catalytic action of Au@Co 3 O 4 /CoFe 2 O 4 HNCs nanozyme, leading to an accelerated electron transfer rate in the MMBPE system and an enhanced ECL signal from Ru(bpy) 3 2+ . The LED imaging technology further provides a convenient and visible approach for CEA imaging in which no additional chemicals are needed. The integration of nanoenzymes as the catalytic core in MMBPE system provides impetus, while the combination of nanozymes with BPE expands the application of nanoenzymes in the field of biological analysis. Bisphenol A (BPA) is a typical endocrine disruptor, which can be used as an industrial raw material for the synthesis of polycarbonate and epoxy resins, etc. Recently, BPA has appeared on the list of priority new pollutants for control in various countries and regions. In this study, phenolic resin waste was utilized as a multi-carbon precursor for the electrocatalytic cathode and loaded with cobalt/nitrogen (Co/N) on its surface to form qualitative two-dimensional carbon nano-flakes (Co/NC). The onset potentials, half-wave potentials, and limiting current densities of the nitrogen-doped composite carbon material Co/NC in oxygen saturated 0.5 mol H 2 SO 4 were -0.08 V, -0.61 V, and -0.41 mA cm -2 ; and those of alkaline conditions were -0.65 V, -2.51 V, and -0.38 mA cm -2 , and the corresponding indexes were improved compared with those of blank titanium electrodes, which indicated that the constructed nitrogen-doped composite carbon material Co/NC was superior in oxygen reduction ability. The catalysis by metallic cobalt as well as the N-hybridized active sites significantly improved the efficiency of electrocatalytic degradation of BPA. In the electro-Fenton system, the yield of hydrogen peroxide generated by cathodic reduction of oxygen was 4.012 mg L -1 , which effectively promoted the activation of hydroxyl radicals. The removal rate of BPA was above 95% within 180 min.
