This Paper presented a novel differential CMOS cascaded power amplifier (PA) operated at 76.5 GHz frequency band for automotive Radar applications. PA consumes more DC power on the front side of the RF transmitter, so a highly efficient PA is required which have high output power for long range used in automotive Radar application. PA with high output power is the biggest challenges for designing. at mm-wave range. This paper described the three most important challenges of CMOS PA: low breakdown voltages, a low-quality factor of passive elements and low output swing in CMOS technology. It presents a new method to design Class E PA using three configurations: cascaded, differential, and parallel. Some basic parameters used for PA are also discussing in this paper. Post Layout Simulation results of the proposed PA is carried out over SpectreRF Cadence software. The circuit dissipates a total DC power of 64.8 mW from a 3.6 V power supply, 340 × 1130 µm2 layout area and the input/output return losses of the circuit at 76.5GHz frequency are −36 dB and −27 dB respectively. In this paper, a novel method to realize LC Voltage-Controlled-Oscillator (LC-VCO) operating at 76.2–76.7GHz frequency band for microwave RFIC component is presented. The model of cross-coupled differential LC-VCO is designed in 45nm technology using Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS) process for Frequency Modulated Carrier Wave (FMCW) automotive radar sensors and RF transceivers application. The impact of VDD, control voltage and temperature variation on frequency shift, phase noise, and output power has been analyzed to optimize the trade-off between frequency, phase noise, and power requirement. The results depict that LC-VCO dissipates 10.45mW power at an operating voltage of 1.5V. The phase noise has been observed to be −90dBc/Hz at 1MHz offset at 76GHz carrier frequency. The estimated layout area of IC is 83×73μm2. The result shows the edge of the design over existing techniques. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
