Abstract

The article presents information on the efficacy of intralesional injection of triamcinolone acetonide compated with topical treatments in patients with alopecia areata (AA). A case report of a 23-year-old male patient with a history of patch-type AA of his scalp which failed to respond to clobetasol propionate and tacrolimus is offered. A discussion on the literature, evidence based on Cochrane systematic review, guidelines and clinical trials and cohort studies is included.
