Abstract

This section offers news briefs related to preservation efforts at Civil War sites as of September 2015. The Anheuser-Busch Foundation has donated acres of land of the Williamsburg, Virginia battlefield to the Civil War Trust. Funding from the Franklin County, Pennsylvania room tax and Marcellus shale natural gas drilling fees will help the Friends of Monterey Pass Battlefield Inc. preserve land at Monterey Pass. A refurbished Civil War-era cannon was installed at Fort Early in Virginia.
