Four countries that had once been embedded in a common welfare state, the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, have espoused different paths of institutional welfare transformation following Yugoslavia's dissolution. The author's PhD dissertation aims to understand the nature of the changes that have occurred in two welfare sectors (employment policy and family policy) in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, North Macedonia and Serbia, over the last two decades, by looking at changes in the characteristics of welfare programs and their implications on the capabilities of beneficiaries, as well as the levels of stratification they yield within these societies. Moreover, its other aim is to understand why such differences in welfare transformation came about. To that end, the dissertation applies Kingdon's Multiple Streams Framework (MSF) to identify important conditions that have contributed to streams converging and the opening of policy windows that resulted in agenda change.

This diploma thesis deals with the comparison of the political regimes of Slobodan Milosevic in Serbia and Franjo Tudjman in Croatia in the years 1991 - 1997 from the point of view of the theory of authoritarian regimes. The subject of the research was to determine the similarities and differences that the regimes showed in a given period. In the beginning of the work, the author approaches the theoretical core of the concepts of authoritarian regimes by Juan J. Linz and the competitive authoritarianism of Steven Levitsky and Lucan A. Way. The analytical part of the work consists of a synchronous dual-case study of Serbia and Croatia focused on the main aspects of authoritarian regimes and their subsequent comparison. The output of the thesis consists in a critical analysis of the features of both examined regimes at the level of limited political pluralism, the relationship between mentality and ideology and depoliticization versus mobilization and application of theories of authoritarian regimes to Serbia and Croatia in a given period. An important finding was that although the countries showed many similar features, the main differences were in the character of Slobodan Milosevic and Franjo Tudjman. This thesis is a comparative case study of two successor communist parties of the League of Communists of Yugoslavia, Social democratic party of Croatia (Socijaldemokratska partija Hrvatske - SDP) and Socialist party of Serbia (Socijalistička partija Srbije - SPS) between years 2000 and 2016. In the beginning we define ideal types of social democracy that are: old left, new left and third way. While the old left is based mainly on keynesian approaches to economy, new left is focused mainly on post-materialistic values such as environmentalism, gender equality, pacifism etc. Third way is an attempt of synthesis of former two types with neoliberal economic approach. First part of the analysis is a short introduction to historical contexts in the analysed period. Then we analyse program documents, speeches and interviews of leaders of both parties, so we can classify them according to above mentioned types of social democracy. In the end we analyse the practically applied politics in periods when the parties were taking part on the national governments. This thesis deals with development of security, political and economic situation on Balkan peninsula focusing on specific countries: Serbia, Croatia and Montenegro, from the period of the emergence of independent states. In this thesis is used economic analysis, political analysis and analysis of human security. The results are used to review and compare the economic and security development of Serbia, Croatia and Montenegro.

The bachelor thesis aims to analyze the participation of Czechoslovak and later Czech and Slovak units operating in the territory of former Yugoslavia within the UNPROFOR mission. The core goal si to compare a contribution of separated units after the breakup of Czechoslovakia occurred. The research focuses on contribution in fulfillment of UNPROFOR sub-goals, because of there are not reliable benchmarks for measuring success of particular missions's segmants. This bachelor thesis deals with the cultural diplomacy of the countries of former Yugoslavia. The work has three objectives. The first objective is to determine whether the practice of cultural diplomacy in ex-Yugoslav countries exists. If it does, the next step is its evaluation. In case it does not exist, it is necessary to find out why. The paper first presents the theoretical framework of cultural diplomacy, which is followed by the main part that introduces the form of practice in each country. Given the new trend that cultural diplomacy represents the information is processed and evaluated with the aid of a variety of foreign sources. Based on the evaluation of the countries, I found out that the practice of cultural diplomacy in some form exists in each of them. The contribution of this work is to map the region that has not been examined at all or very little.

The relations between Croatia and Serbia are determining for regional peace and stability and for the course of the EU enlargement in the Western Balkans. The Instrument for Pre-accession Assistance (IPA) is the funding mechanism designed for the implementation of the EU's enlargement policy in the Western Balkans. This research investigates the extent to which IPA has integrated to the local cross- border initiatives in culture and youth and has fostered social reconstruction between Croats and Serbs in Slavonia (Croatia) and Vojvodina (Serbia). Co-operation in the cultural sector is an important element of social reconstruction, as it favours contacts and the erosion of antagonistic prejudices against the other ethnic group. The objective of this research is defined as two-fold, firstly to test a model of cross-border co-operation devised from EU integration theories and, secondly to provide an accurate picture of the cross-border initiatives in Slavonia and Vojvodina based on ground-level experience. This thesis analyzes the share of the three former presidents of the republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Croatia, who had in the case of civil war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which took place from 1992 to 1995. The Civil War was the bloodiest conflict in Europe since World War II. Work is focused on the territory of the former Yugoslavia. Processed period corresponds to the years of 1989-1992, i.e. the time the dissolution of Yugoslavia and the establishment of new republics. In view of the fact that attention is paid to the life of presidents, i.e. Slobodan Milosevic, Franjo Tudjman and Alija Izetbegovic, the work is focused on the period of 50./60. years too. Emphasis is put on their political life and the gradual acquisition of power. It is necessary at the outset to remind disintegration of Yugoslavia, in order to focus on further development. In conclusion, attention is paid to the agreements relating to any division of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which was completed by the effort of Bosnian Serbs and Croats to join the greatest part of the country to the Serbia and Croatia. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to translate a German non-fiction text into Czech and to provide it with a professional commentary. The translated text consists of the first two sub-chapters of the historic introduction to the publication "Orthodoxie und Katholizismus in Jugoslawien 1945-1991: ein serbisch-kroatischer Vergleich". The first part of the commentary includes a translation analysis of the original text according to Christiane Nord which means an analysis of intratextual and extratextual factors. Based on the analysis the translation method is deduced. In the next chapter, different kinds of translation problems are presented along with their solutions. The commentary is concluded by a typology of translation shifts.

The thesis describes the process of enlargement of EU, with emphasis on circumstances, which influences the enlargement process, with current candidate countries (Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Iceland, Montenegro, Serbia and Turkey) and the new member state Croatia as example. The thesis is divided into three chapters; first chapter presents basic information about phases of the process. Second chapter deals with previous enlargements of European Community, or EU. Third chapter analyzes current candidate states, presents their political and economical characteristics and current stage of the process. A part of the third chapter predicts future development and possible date of the entry of each candidate state.

Presented work deals with the issues of bankruptcies in pre-selected countries: Czech Republic, Slovak Republic, Serbia and Croatia, both from an economic and legal viewpoint. First four chapters are devoted to more detailed analysis of insolvency (bankruptcy) laws of each country with regard to their development and current practice. At the end of each chapter is described a current "bankruptcy situation" on the markets of individual economies. The sixth chapter deals with bankruptcies in Europe (Western Europe and Central and Eastern Europe). Part of this chapter is also devoted to the development of selected economies in terms of their GDP. The seventh chapter highlights the economic aspects of bankruptcy and the eighth chapter analyzes the data obtained. The work focuses only on corporate bankruptcies and is completed with appropriate graphs and tables both in the text and in the appendices.

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to determine whether mutual Serb-Croatian relations affect in any way the accession process of these countries into the European Union. The thesis is divided into three chapters. The first chapter describes the historical events which had or still have an impact on mutual relations. The second chapter examines the mutual relations in political, economic and cultural aspects and the third chapter identifies the basic problems of mutual relations and their impact on integration into the European Union.

Content of this thesis is comparison of Slovenia, Croatia and Serbia from following points of view - development after disintegration of common state, their transformation processes and accession negotiations with the European Union. It explains the reasons for current different positions of compared states and brings forecasts for their future development.

This bachelor thesis focuses more on exploring the potential for further enlargement of the EU and selected countries in the Western Balkans (Macedonia, Croatia, Serbia).

This dissertation thesis is focused on the analysis of changing relations between the Western Balkan countries (WB) and the European Union (EU) against background of actual transformation processes in these countries. The Western Balkans represents a group of countries which were not part of so-called Eastern Enlargement of the EU, but are also slowly heading towards the EU. The EU distinguishes three groups of countries within the WB: Croatia has become an acceding country; then here is a group of candidate countries (Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM), Montenegro, Serbia), and the last group is formed by so-called potential candidate countries (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo). All of these above mentioned countries are part of the Stabilisation and Association Process (SAP) which nowadays represents the core of the Enlargement Policy of the EU and stands for the main research topic of this thesis. The thesis also comprehends the history of the enlargement process of the EU and the basic theoretical concepts of the (EU) enlargement. The "transformation" chapter includes a theoretical grounding too. Three hypotheses were verified (mainly) by results of transformation, evaluation of Copenhagen criteria by the European Commission, and by the statistical methods (Principal Components Analysis and Cluster Analysis) based on a number of economic and demographic indicators.
