Abstract

The article presents a study which compares the cost-utility of early laparoscopic cholecystectomy with that for conventional management of patients diagnosed with acute gallbladder disease. The study includes adults admitted to a hospital having a first episode of biliary colic or acute cholecystitis allocated to either intervention or conventional group. It shows that the cost-utilities of both early and conventional approaches were similar.
