Abstract

The article presents a study on the health of immigrant workers and working conditions of Chinatown restaurants in San Francisco, California using a community-based participatory research (CBPR). It states that observational checklists were given to 71 Chinatown restaurants and questionnaires to 433 immigrant workers to assess the health and safety of restaurant workers. It adds that CBPR is significant for studying the health and safety of workers and in developing appropriate research tools.
